Chapter 40 - The Principles of Space Magic

Hogwarts, in the Great Hall.

Silence dominated the hall as everyone watched the scene unfolding in the curtain of light.

Based on the alternatives presented by the Comparison Room, they already had an idea of what might happen.

But instead of a bloody plot or mutual indifference, few expected that Harry Black and Snape would suddenly become nephew and godfather.

However, at that moment, what held everyone's attention the most was not this unexpected relationship but Snape's past.

Who was Severus Snape?

He was one of the greatest Potions Masters in the wizarding world and the feared Head of Slytherin House!

Initially, everyone thought that someone with such a reputation and strength would have had a journey filled with victories.

But what they saw completely changed their perspectives.

Young love?

Rivalries over a woman?

Are you sure we're talking about Snape?!

Harry Potter couldn't help but look at Snape differently. It didn't seem like Snape really hated him, he just hated his father and his face...

Wait a minute!

Why do I have to pay for my father's mistakes?!

As Harry sank into these confused thoughts, the exclamation of the Weasley twins caught his attention.

"Look, George! I told you Professor Snape was actually a good person! He's just a poor Romeo who lost his Juliet to another man!"

"I agree, Fred! These people were cruel to judge him wrongly. In the end, he was just worried about little Harry's academic progress!"

Everyone was perplexed by the Weasley twins' shamelessness.

Weren't you two the ones who led Gryffindor in a rebellion against Snape?

How can you be so brazen?!

Percy's face turned as red as his hair as he harshly reprimanded the twins.

Don't you two think you've caused enough trouble for today?!

He then cast an apologetic look at Lily on behalf of Fred's bold words.

Still confused, Harry also looked at his mother.

"This man… Was he really supposed to be my godfather? Was he your friend?"

Lily gently stroked Harry's hair, her eyes reflecting memories of the past.

"Maybe I didn't realize it before, but now… Yes, Harry. He is a friend of your mother's."

Harry nodded slowly.

Well... the scene in the potions class didn't even really happen. Just consider that this never happened.

Igor Karkaroff: "Hehe! I didn't expect the famous Potions Master of Hogwarts to have this kind of experience."

Rubeus Hagrid: "I knew James and Snape had their differences, but I never looked into the details, who would've thought it was because of little Lily?"

James Potter: "Haha! It's been 13 years since I graduated, I didn't expect Snape to still care so much about this!"

Severus Snape: "Hmpf! Who said I care?!"

Ron Weasley: "Strange… I could've sworn that the Snape from the parallel world smiled when Harry Black called him "uncle"..."

Severus Snape: "…"

If you don't say anything, no one will think you're mute!

Snape really wanted to cast every Curse he knew on Ron. Maybe then he could suppress his anger.

Gellert Grindelwald: "Only a fool lets love hold them back. It's nothing but an obstacle to a wizard's true abilities."

Bathilda Bagshot: "Really, little Gellert? Funny... I don't know who used to say that Albus was the only one worthy of being your rival and accompanying you in the wizarding world."

Gellert Grindelwald: "?!!"

Gellert Grindelwald: "Great-Aunt Bathilda! Stop talking nonsense. I never said that!"

Elphias Doge: "Curious... I remember hearing exactly the same thing from Albus in his youth. I even remember his fascination at the time."

Albus Dumbledore: "I just remembered! Isn't it time for Snape and Luna to receive their rewards?"

As if answering Dumbledore's slight desperation, the imposing curtain of golden light began to shine, distributing rewards to Snape and Luna.

[Congratulations to Severus Snape for obtaining the Principles of Spatial Magic - Low Level.]

[Congratulations to Luna Lovegood for obtaining Beast Control Magic.]

Snape, still pondering how to deal with one or all of the Weasleys, saw a beam of light shoot from the golden curtain towards his head.

Before he could react, the light penetrated his mind, and a flood of information about the principles of spatial magic unfolded before him.

Snape was stunned.

Theories about the properties of space, ancient runes, magical diagrams... Everything needed for someone with enough talent to create their own spatial magic was there.

But the most surprising part wasn't that. Among the information received, there was already a ready-to-use spatial magic: Spatial Confinement.

With a large amount of magical power, it was possible to manipulate space within a 20-meter radius, trapping the target for up to a minute.

If it were just an immobilizing spell, Snape wouldn't have been so interested.

Petrificus Totalus, Encarcerous, Locomotor Mortis, Impedimenta... Which of these spells can't immobilize an opponent?

But, regardless of the spell, Protego could still defend them.

Spatial Confinement was different.

It wasn't just about casting a spell with ordinary magic. It guided the user's magic to manipulate the very space of the environment, sealing the target inside it.

This meant that, unlike the worn-out reputation of the Avada Kedavra, Spatial Confinement was a truly indefensible magic—unless someone could use magical power or physical strength to break through the space itself...

Snape reflected deeply.

According to the information on Spatial Confinement, with his current magical power, he could only use it twice before exhausting his reserves.

There was no doubt that Snape was certainly stronger than an elite auror. But if even he could only use Spatial Confinement twice, it was clear that most wizards wouldn't even be able to learn this magic.

Then, a thought crossed his mind.

Could he use this knowledge of spatial magic to improve his Sectumsempra curse?

Sectumsempra was an extremely powerful cutting spell, designed to attack the target with invisible blades, causing deep wounds that bled profusely.

It was as if an invisible sword pierced the flesh, tearing muscles and blood vessels brutally. If not treated quickly, the spell could be fatal.

The only weakness of Sectumsempra was that it could still be defended by Protego.

But now, Snape was absolutely certain that he could transform his invisible blade into a true deadly sword.

"How much longer until you're reborn, James? I'm already missing you..."

Snape lost some of his composure. A strange smile appeared on his face, frightening the young wizards in the Great Hall.
