She's normal, he's normal, Summit's not.
Why?
How do you be normal, if your apart of a Ancient Clan?
The PavoClan, obviously.
The skies were dark and full of gray rain clouds, drifting calmly away from the peak of the mountains with no hurry.
It had rained all night, the dew on the grass slightly sparkled. Mist settled everywhere, calling out that a cloud somehow got itself on land level.
5 or 6 trees perched too closely to the edge of the mountain, but was there as a border, or a kind of fence. Ferns and undergrowth swished easily between.
A small house that didn't look like it would be able to hold at least 10 Creatures all at once sat idle close to the mountain's cliff.
The lights were on, and a quite small shadow was casted across the grass.
A voice was heard from within.
"..I can't exactly prefer snowy weather, though. It's bothersome."
It was Summit, our main character!
Summit didn't look exactly pleased, though.
A frown was plastered on his face and he tapped his foot down on the ground.
He was debating over which weather is the best to read in. Or just best vibes.
"Obviously though, it's the cold cloudy day, that's supposed to be a fact, actually," he started to look pleased of himself, but then shame.
He was arguing with a book, actually.
Dani, his long time friend, was working in the PavoClan's temple right now, and Summit doesn't really like making other friends that his Mother didn't introduce him to.
Well, jee, at least it's not the town Dani's shift is being held in.
So since this was his day off, he was supposed to be delighted. But he's not.
Why? It's because he as NOTHING TO READ!
If you have nothing to read, and your a large reader, and you can get bored of books easily, and it's hard to come by some other interesting books, it's pain!
Pure pain!
Those books he dropped? They are trash! Trash, he tells you!
What's this one about the Seon Creature talking with a human, oh!! Wow, it was quite interesting!
NO!
THE MOST CLICHE THINGS TO EXIST AND THE MOST FORCED PLOT! SHUT UP, FOR THE SAKE OF POE!
That's a common mistake, but it was still quite annoying.
No, really annoying.
But!
Summit just remembered it! The book that was saved from those!
'The Protagonist is overly cautious,' a book that was too slow to be true.
But then, a shocking thing happened.
Clenching his hand, Summit raised it and swung it in circles.
After 39 long boring ahh type shi chapters went by, chapter 40 looked like it was literally heaven blessing you.
It was martial peak.
Not material, martial.
Like those.. what do you call it martial arts or something? He recently became to be too busy, forgetting half of the book.
It was like every chapter was hard worked on, and Summit never dropped it again.
Well, he did buy it for 2 coins so it was no sweat.
Looking outside of the clear thing they call 'glass' or something that was brought by the PavoClan, he watched as a splitting soft yellow beam pierced through the clouds, making the remaining dew turn orange.
I should probably go outside though, it's said today the sun is going to come out.
Summit grabbed the book 'The Protagonist is overly cautious' and started to head outside.
He never finished it, even though he wanted to so badly in 1 or 2 days.
But it was better to read slowly, you wouldn't want to goodness of a book with peak process to disappear quickly and you just keep rereading the book 50 times.
Summit specifically reads 2 chapters a day.
Opening the door to his cabin, he stepped on the gravel walkway that was still wet and started to walk to a bench that sat not to far from his house.
Sitting down, he inwardly sighed.
It was depressing, yes, but it was still worth it, just like he'd had said.
Opening his book, the first words that met him were:
And it crashed into the man, sending shattered shards of the hourglass in different directions.
The sand poured merely down his face, getting into his wide eyes and nose.
His mark started to fade, the slight glow it always had disappeared.
"Huh?" What was this feathered brain passage of a book?
These events are the future, they are not the past or present. These future events will lead to what do you call it.. a great, marvelous, and disasterous story.
Great, marvelous, disasterous?
Now you see, the man that the events for the future is prepared for, he's a being called a 'Seon Creature.'
"Wait.." didn't those other humans that came by just 3 days ago say that this was top secret?
A Seon Creature, which are short, sometimes not but is usually bald, has a mark that represents their Creature.
Standing immediately, Summit didn't take his eyes away from the book, but continued to read, confused but was alarmed.
This Seon Creature is a Peafowl, or let's just say a Peacock, whew. In the peaks of Snowfern Mountain, belonging to the clans of the ancient,
This is a problem, right? He knew it was. They were exposed to every human that ever got this book.
It would go around, then no more of the little peace they had, it will completely shatter.
PavoClan, which stood at 4th place for being one of the most ancient clans of the time, has a very unique member.
It's targeting us.
Is it the Clan Leader? No. Could it be the upcoming young leader? No. It was a ordinary member.
...
His name,
This is certainly interesting, but in a bad way..
Summit.
Summit? Who's that?
Oh, Summit recalled his own name. That's me.
As soon as he finishes that sentence, an unknowingly rain drop plopped right on his name, then it started to rain.
But.. these are the events for the future?
The book just claimed that his death will come.
No!
Flipping through the other pages frantically, the words of the human book was disappearing, making it seemingly so that they never existed there.
The only other page that still had the words were the ones that just confirmed a terrible death to him, which wasn't normal.
How can you even say someone's going to die?
That didn't make any sense, did it-?
A harsh wind from behind Summit developed, and blew his way, making him stumble.
In a flash, Summit stared intensely behind himself, but saw nothing.
Am I becoming delusional? No, even if he was, there wasn't supposed to be more rain today.
No harsh winds, definitely.
Ignoring it briefly, he was about to make a loud call of alarm until he heard a really sweet sound.
Clinkling.
A soft, calming sound of sand.
But it was one of the most terrifying, horrific sounds for Summit.
It has to be in glass, right?
Dim green light flashed on his face, and before he could avert this eyes to whatever it was, a hourglass with lime green sand flickered right in his face, and then it crashed into Summit.
Shattered shards of glass scattered everywhere, some stabbing right into his head, which was so painful to a Seon Creature who doesn't get hurt easily, he dropped the book into the wet grass.
The sand of the hourglass started to pour down his face, and some came into his eyes and nose, which he scrunched his eyes out of pain.
Then, as the rain splattered across his face, he started to see darkness creeping from the edge of his vision.
I'm dying?
Yea, he was.
The darkness was quickly spreading, and his eyes closed.
I don't even have a mate yet. This is cursed.
