Wha oh, Beo thought as soon as he laid eyes upon the place that looks haunted.
Lina was unbuttoning her coat has she started to trek towards the place, which, woah, Beo had NO intention to go to.
After some others gaze at her, woah, a lot began to follow her. They had the regular panel, not him, they know best, not him..
'Some were plainly tricked into action,' a memory from the book suddenly resurfaced. When did that happen again? Who was talking and who was being told? Beo didn't know, but really, he had to confirm.
How to confirm? That's what he didn't know. Yes, so it probably looks like Beo is standing there stupidly. That's not what he wants, as he already knew.. um, some of the actual things that were going to happen??
Woah chill out Beo your starting to feel excited, but yes it was understandable. Adventures starting from now on, even if the author makes it seem dry! Nobody is visibly panicking so it's probably the special grade group.
But yes.. he still needed to see if it's a trick or not.
It was almost different for every group, and the protagonist got the group that was genuinely fearing for their lives, while some had people to adapt quickly with the situation, while some already got moving quickly because of a calm person.
Lina seems like one, and it mightttt be that Beo himself what fortunate with his spawning (?) point-
Why was that the word that came to his mind-
And he is officially going to survive this first Trial.
Ah, did he forget?
Oh my.
Trials, the whole reason of the snatching of random beings.
Aka, the Era of the Missing.
It took place with a shooting star that decided to turn course since it's like that, but it wasn't actually the same for everyone. Some were literally just basic events:
' I got kidnapped then kidnapped again, '
' I was sleeping, '
' A fire.. '
' Bumped into someone. '
' I was at a funeral. '
' Just eating and choked. '
' I was watching those stupid videos were marbles raced and- '
Yea there was a lot of unusual things. Like the fidling citizens' experiences.
' Sleeping, '
' Fighting. '
' Hunting to be honest- '
' Hunting only? I literally was tackled by a rabbit! '
Fidling citizens were fake Seon Creatures. That's it in short. From the way the book described them, they were humanoid, but sometimes they were a full animal, no insects or bugs, some with wings are rare, but they don't really have ranks..
To be sure, Summit never even knew the like.. the reason behind the Trials and kidnapping-adultsnatching thing. Like.. was it just the plot? What was the author's motive to writing a book like that? It was unique but oh my goodness what were you trying to say to this slow brain?
"....that man is going to be left behind..?" a comment snapped Beo out of his transfixing thinking as he focused back to reality.
That man was him, right? Why is this human so quick to think deeply but so slow to act quickly? Was this.. a flaw?
Naw but ah ain't gonna stay behind I'm coming riht after you, he thought has he started track the long line of people, noticing that this group also lacked something else.
The fake Seon Creatures! Oh wow it's an honor not to have them around! There wasn't a sign of any of the described description, so there is none. It will be obvious if there was some..
"There's a timer!" Someone shouted, their tone of voice shock.
A- WHATT
"IT SAYS 1 MINUTE, HURRY!" Another shouted with panic, and the calm, traveling crowd turned into a sea of chaos.
The people who were a few minutes away from the building were now full sprinting to the door, which, on Poe, they were surprisingly fast for background characters like themselves.
Beo started to run too after hearing that, because excuse me already trying to end the adventures when it just started? That's lame.
The closer he got to the door, the more crowded it really was.
"Move!"
"Please excuse me!"
"My family-"
Yea your family isn't going to survive people who care about themselves give up.
What was that thought process?
"Can you get into the door!?"
"Get out of the way!!"
The shouts of people desperately trying to to get through narrow doors flooded Beo's ears, and as he pushed his way through the packed area, he could now see the timer they were talking about.
[0:43]
43 seconds left.. AND THESE PEOPLE CAN'T MOVE!!
They were STUCK in the door, NOT moving, JUST LIKE THE UNIMPORTANT CHARACTERS THEY ARE.
Why was this a extreme problem for background characters? Like just let one person pass before you if your that stuck, before none of you will survive.
Even in a situation like this, you have to think rationally just a tiny bit. Like make sense.
"Move out of the way!" Beo called over the people's heads, pushing his way towards the two stuck characters. They looked incredibly stupid.
The man that was stuck looked like he was having some painful experience, embarrassed too, while the other male had his back toward the timer as if he wanted to get out.
They had to be basic characters/background characters/can never be side characters since they didn't look important, only the regular or boring looking character there.
He reached the stuck people, glanced at the time, 35 seconds left.. ok, that is soild, and grabbed one of the male's shirt.
Someone started to push into him, which is very annoying when your trying to help thank you very much, so he just did the most honest thing he could do; pull the man out and casuallly 'bump' into that person!
Fear drives people to do unimaginable things, so it was common to not respect a thing when death is always hovering over you.
But it somehow wasn't look at Beo. Beo, a side character. At least, this isn't the time to be dying, as he will have his fate locked and sealed forever soon enough.
But it was present day and hauling the man from the door felt hard but easy, because he already knew he wasn't going to die.
That is confidence, to much confidence that one day can get you killed.
"Wha-"
He practically threw the male a short distance away into the small crowd behind him, then shoved through himself.
{You made it!
Server#200: 59 + 5 = 64, your place in is the 61th! Experience points.. 20!}
Experience points for just coming into a building? Oh, nice! Random pings filled the air as more and more people rushed in, some got jumped on and some still on their feet.
He moved out of the way so they can pass, looking at the small panel infront of his face.
[You might be him, nice,] a random, new panel appeared from the notification, jump scaring Beo.
But before he could speak, the panel made new words appear on screen, silencing him.
[I'm Protagonist Tager, the system panel thingie that was assigned to you.]
