The night was getting darker, the cold air and the wind blowing harder on Mount Srinjani; they were still repeating in front of the fire with meaningful wrappings imagining how to return home safely.
The warmth of the campfire seemed to calm them amidst all the tragedies they had gone through today.
Their cell phones were all dead; there was no place to charge their batteries because they were still at the top of the mountain, unlike Post 1, which still had little signal, electricity and residential areas.
Keenan took a deep breath while still looking at the fire on the peak in front of him.
"How do we get through tomorrow?" with a sad and tired expression.
Hasan pulled a cigarette from his pants pocket.
He lit the cigarette and enjoyed each puff of his cigarette.
"Don't think too much, we can all survive until now, we are already incredibly grateful,"
Said Hasan, trying to calm all the worries felt by his friends even though, in his deepest heart, he held great anxiety about their safety.
Riki started to get cold with the atmosphere of the night in the forest, and chose to enter the tent to rest.
"Bye guys, i want to sleep right now" Said Riki to them.
Rico woke up from his seat hoping to meet the figure he was looking for, Ki Jaka.
He walked towards the forest with the sound of heavy footsteps stepping on the wet ground after the rain.
Rico looked around the forest with the flashlight he was holding, circling around while imagining that Ki Jaka would appear in front of him.
When he highlighted the forest, a white shadow quickly descended from above the forest.
Ki Jaka?
Ki Jaka! Help us get out of here..
Half screaming, Rico called the shadow, hoping it was Ki Jaka, whom he had been looking for all this time.
Suddenly, the figure disappeared with a flash, who knows where.
Rico's hopes were dashed just like that.
He rejoined Hasan, and Keenan who were still sitting in front of the tent.
Rico sat with a feeling of resignation; he covered his face with both hands and then bent down, folding his arms.
"How can a hero cry? It's embarrassing to be around women," Hasan teased, trying to comfort Rico.
Rico started to get up and tried to look strong in front of Keenan and Hasan.
Keenan started a conversation to let go of the bad thoughts that made them fail.
"Do you remember there used to be a rumor about Rina's disappearance on this mountain? It turns out she was Rico's senior's ex-girlfriend in junior high school. Is that true Rico?"
Keenan asked, baiting Rico to get into the conversation.
Rico remembered who Rina was that Keenan was referring to.
Oh… that Rina.
"When Rina went missing, all the students at school were abuzz with the news of her disappearance, even Putri, Regi, and other close friends who had gone hiking"
"Crying and even Putri fainted, because she was the only one Rina met last before she went missing"
"Since Rina went missing, the school has never given permission to students who are going to hike for any reason"
When talking about Rina.
Suddenly a woman's voice was heard crying.
Instantly, they looked at each other as if realizing there was a crying sound, and their bodies shivered to hear the sound.
Hasan spontaneously looked towards the back of the tent to try to find the source of the sound.
Heu… heu…. (The sound of a woman crying)
Rico listened carefully to the sound and tried to get closer.
And it turned out the sound came from inside the woman's tent.
Keenan called Laras from outside the tent to see who was crying inside.
Laras… Ras… Are you asleep?
Keenan called them but not a single voice answered from inside the tent.
Hasan knocked on the tent from outside trying to wake her up, but something strange happened.
When Hasan knocked on the tent, the crying sound suddenly stopped and disappeared.
"Hasan… the crying sound disappeared," Rico said to make sure again.
The women's tent was still closed as if they didn't pay attention to anything that was happening outside the tent.
After feeling safe, they decided to return to the men's tent to sleep and rest.
Because it was late at night and the wind was starting to move very hard, the fire above it began to slowly go out by itself.
They fell asleep after facing the unexpected all day.
The time showed 2 am, and the sound of the beginning of the wind and the sound of animals calling broke the comfort of the night.
Brak.. Brak.. Brak..
The sound of shoes being dragged was heard; Laras, who realized the sound, then woke up and stared from inside the tent.
With a face still half asleep, Laras tried to wake Alya.
"Al.. wake up, Al, I'm scared," Alya tried to open her very heavy eyes.
"Why Laras, are you afraid of what's going on?"
Alya saw Laras' panicked face and immediately opened her eyes.
Shhhhhh ...
Laras gave a sign to Alya to listen carefully to the strange sounds coming from outside the tent.
Their heartbeats were beating fast.
"It's like someone is passing by our tent?"
Alya said while whispering to Laras.
Laras nodded in agreement with Alya's words.
And they realized how could someone be hanging around in the forest starting at 2 am.
When they were shivering, the sound of footsteps was still clearly audible.
Dagg.
The sound of feet kicking the tent was very clear.
Aaakkkk...
Alya screamed spontaneously.
Laras covered Alya's mouth fighting maybe with her hands.
Instead of stopping, the sound of feet became clearer.
They covered her body by hugging her bag and saving her with a blanket.
Without them realizing it, Tissa was still asleep without paying attention to Alya's screams.
It seemed like nothing had happened.
Laras and Alya held hands while imagining that the figure did not bother them.
