Chapter 7 - Aura Test

They walked towards the other side of the school where the awakened classes were located. As soon as he entered, Travis felt his ability getting blocked.

"To reduce fights and damage, this entire building is covered with a barrier that cancels your abilities."

'I kind of understood that already. Even in my past life, people would take advantage of this,' he thought.

They soon arrived at a classroom door, above which a large sign was placed. Mr. Forg opened the door and walked in. The class, which had been focused on the teacher at the front, turned their attention to him as he entered.

"Mr. Forg, are you here to bring my new student?" the teacher asked.

"Yes, Travis, enter," Mr. Forg said.

Travis walked in, giving everyone in the class a good look. He smiled briefly and then glanced at the teacher, a wider smile spreading across his face.

' Milf!!'

"Alright, you may take any seat you want," Ms. Martinez said. Travis nodded and sat at the back by the window.

"Thank you, Mr. Forg. Travis, you've missed 10 months of training, but I'm sure you'll be able to catch up. We haven't done much yet, so before we go any further, I need you to pull up your socks," she continued. "You may call me Ms. Martinez. Now, take out your book and start jotting down all the notes I've written on the board."

Looking at the wide board, Travis sighed and did as instructed. He finished writing everything down.

"Now, let me explain how classes work here, Travis. Firstly, there are five classes: Gym Class, Math, Combat, Language, and History. Each period is about two hours long, so I hope you know how to be patient. I will be teaching you two subjects: Language and Combat. Since the bell is about to ring, let's get ready for Combat."

"Is there no break time?" he asked.

"There is. Break time is up to your teacher, meaning it can be anytime, depending on their mood. And yes, it will always happen, so don't worry. Now, get up, students. It's time for Combat class," Ms. Martinez said.

Everyone got up from their seats and walked outside. Before Travis could leave, he was stopped by Ms.Martinez.

"Travis, you must have a lot of talent to be able to enter this class, so I hope you won't weigh anyone down, okay?"

"Oh, don't worry. What you should be worried about is me overtaking everyone in this class," Travis replied.

"Good answer. Now, follow everyone. They'll lead you to the changing rooms where you'll wear your combat suit. I'll explain how they work later."

He nodded in response and followed the others to the changing rooms. When he entered, he saw some guys completely naked inside. Like a real dude, he didn't look at anyone's genitals; instead, he went straight to an empty locker and noticed his name on it.

'They work fast,' he thought.

He took off his clothes and opened his locker, only to overhear some students talking about him.

"Look at how flimsy this guy is. He must have gotten in through connections."

"Definitely. How much do you want to bet he'll quit in about a week?"

He heard several people placing bets on his failure.

'Fucking extras,' he thought.

He got changed and walked out of the changing room, finding himself in an outdoor field.

"So, your suit protects your lower body from damage, but you can still take significant damage to your face if you don't guard it. This suit is only for first-year and younger students, so don't get too comfortable with it," Ms. Martinez explained.

"Alright, how do you get promoted to the S class?" Travis asked.

"Oh, aiming high already, huh? To get into the S class, you'll need to win the First-Year Tournament, which takes place at the end of the year."

'I'm sure I'll be strong as hell by then. I'll definitely make it,' he thought.

"Can anyone enter the tournament?" Travis asked.

"No, you'll need to be recommended by other students to enter. So, you should focus on impressing others and gaining their respect rather than just getting stronger," Ms. Martinez explained.

"That's silly. Why would I do that?"

"Well, that's how things work in the real world. You'll understand one day. Oh, it seems everyone is here. Let's begin."

As the students gathered, Ms. Martinez stepped forward and began speaking.

"Since we have a new student, I'd like us to take it slow today. Previously, we were busy training on how to materialize your elements and powers. But today, we'll focus on endurance tests related to exerting your internal energy. This means aura training—how long you can sustain your aura without passing out."

Most of the students chuckled when they heard that, sneering at Travis, who calmly minded his own business.

"He probably won't even last a second."

"Not even a millisecond, bro!"

"Let's show him how hard we've worked while he was learning dumb stuff in the unawakened class."

Ms. Martinez overheard the remarks from the students. Normally, she would have retorted, but seeing the emotionless calm expression on Travis's face, she thought, ' Oh, he's cool-headed. That's a nice change of pace. Everyone here is such an emotional wreck—I understand, though, since they're all in puberty.'

"Quiet down now, begin!"

At that moment, all the students projected their auras outside their bodies. Travis's aura, a deep crimson reminiscent of blood, pulsed with an intensity that set him apart from the sea of blue, gray, green, and yellow emanations. Unlike the others, his aura resembled a perpetual flame, casting a warm and commanding glow around him. It flickered and danced, hinting at an inner fire that mirrored his unique energy and presence. The vivid red hue radiated strength and determination, leaving an indelible mark on the collective spectacle of auras in the room.

Travis's commanding aura created an atmosphere of reverence, causing a ripple among the nearby students. Overwhelmed by the sheer intensity of his crimson radiance, they felt a sense of inadequacy, as if standing in the presence of a force beyond their comprehension.

One by one, they reluctantly withdrew, surrendering to the magnetic pull of his formidable energy. Travis's aura, akin to a blazing beacon, left an indelible impression on those who dared to be near, evoking a silent acknowledgment of his extraordinary presence.

But since they were weak, the students couldn't sense the danger emanating from Travis. Mrs. Martinez, on the other hand, felt the subtle menace from his aura, and it made her gulp.

'Hmm, what's that?' she thought, examining Travis's aura more closely.' A hint of INTENT —he's releasing it unconsciously!'
