Startled by Travis's sudden awareness, Hector instinctively flinched backward, momentarily losing sight of his target. Attempting to regain focus, he hurriedly searched the surroundings, but to his surprise, Travis had vanished, leaving only the lingering silence of the forest in his wake. The unexpected turn of events left Hector both bewildered and impressed by the elusive skills displayed by his momentarily observed quarry.
Frustration etched across his face, Hector muttered,
"Arghh! I gotta fix this drawback or I'm not gonna get anything done!"
With a sense of urgency, he scanned the forest, his eyes darting in every direction, desperately searching for any trace of Travis. The panic intensified as Hector grappled with the uncertainty of Adrian's capabilities, fueling his determination to overcome the unforeseen challenge that had caught him off guard.
Crouched behind the tree, Travis observed Hector perched above, a bemused smirk playing on his lips. Reflecting on the situation, he mused,
'He's inexperienced, that's for sure. We both saw each other, practically revealing our locations. The smartest move would be to find another spot to hide. Yet he's just sitting there, as if asking me to steal his cash.'
Silently, Travis held the closest branch, pulling himself upward with agile precision. As he went up the tree, Hector remained seated, scanning the surroundings for any signs of his elusive target. Unbeknownst to Hector, Travis strategically elevated himself, gaining a vantage point to further exploit his opponents inexperience.
Lost in his thoughts, Hector remained oblivious to Travis strategic maneuvering. As he pondered the vast forest from his elevated position, he was completely unaware that Travis had circled around and was now positioned behind him. Breaking the silence.
Travis declared, "Tag,"
Revealing his presence and executing a successful move that caught Hector off guard.
Facing Travis's cold stare, Hector felt an involuntary shiver, compelled to avert his gaze. The realization struck him.
'He's fast! Is he a speeder?'
Doubt and curiosity mingled in Hector's thoughts as he grappled with the unexpected speed displayed by his elusive adversary.
"Fuck! Here," Hector exclaimed, frustration evident in his voice, as he retrieved the band and handed it to Travis.
A satisfied smile crossed Adrian's face, but as he leaped off the tree, he waited for him to go past the 6 meter mark.
Hector, determined to turn the tables, propelled himself toward Adrian with such force that the branch beneath him snapped, emphasizing the sheer power behind his sprint.
* Ping*
Moving at a speed imperceptible to the naked eye, Hector streaked through the air. Travis, reacting swiftly to the sound of Hector's movement, he immediately seized a branch, preventing his fall.
As Hector zoomed past him, a subtle "Tch" escaped Hectors lips.
Having landed gracefully on the ground, Hector locked eyes with Travis, who dangled from the branch above. With a swift, bending motion, Hector propelled himself upward in a colossal leap, closing the distance between them.
*Ping*
The *Ping* echoed through the forest. Just as Hector was about to make contact with Travis, he cunningly let go of the branch, descending further to the ground. In a surprising turn, Hector collided with the tree.
'That should put him out,' Travis thought triumphantly, only to witness Hector springing back resiliently from the impact, defying expectations with an unexpected recovery.
* Ping*
With a nimble landing on another tree, Hector showcased his agility. Undeterred, he gathered momentum and, with another powerful leap, soared through the air toward Travis, determined to continue the chase despite the unexpected detour.
* Ping*
'Neat ability, though I know nothing about it' he thought
Travis evaded Hector's oncoming attack, causing him to hit the ground forcefully.
* Crash"
However, Hector's surprising resilience was evident as he sprang back into action, launching skyward.
Travis didn't have any time to keep dodging, that and also the fact that he was very weak so each time he did dodge he was pushing his body to its limit. So he started to run as fast as he could.
' There's about 20 seconds till he has to stop pursuing me. I'll have to try by all means to make sure he doesn't catch me' he thought.
' I have absolutely 4 minutes 20 seconds to catch me. I'm sure I can get him before that, from the looks of it he only got to me by luck. I definitely won't let him get away!!' Hector thought.
Travis turned back one last time to check where Hector was. And when he did, they made eye contact, Hector smirked and so did he. The chase and escape began.
He pushed his body to its limits, sprinting through the challenging terrain of the forest. Hector, with relentless determination, sprang at Adrian. In a split second, Travis skillfully maneuvered out of the way, narrowly avoiding a collision with a tree. Just when it seemed Hector would be thwarted, he rebounded with unexpected agility, continuing the pursuit with undiminished vigor.
" I won't let you get away!!" He shouted.
Then sprung towards him again, Travis dodged again the only reason he could was because he could hear Hector each time he was about to spring at him.
' The time is up already! Why is he still chasing me!?'He thought.
He momentarily stopped moving, Hector was about to spring at him, then the very next second he felt his whole body freeze, Travis turned back and gave him a cold glare.
" Isn't time up yet. Why are you still chasing me?" He asked.
Hector again flinched when meeting his gaze, he didn't wish to say anything, but he felt like if he didn't say anything he'd die.
" No, we still have about 3 minutes to go" He said quickly, trying by all means not to anger him.
" Huh that doesn't make sense. Martinez said there was only a minute to catch me or you lose!" Travis said in frustration.
" Did you hear that? " He asked. Which Travis nodded in response.
' Nick must have used his ability, should I tell him?' He thought.
Suddenly the air around him got tense, he looked down towards Travis and immediately felt his intent.
" You better tell me"
