Chapter 13 - Ultimate Goal

Travis stood in front of Stella and Amelia, who were both gorgeous women. Let's begin with Stella Walker. She had long, chestnut-brown hair tied up in a high ponytail, cascading down her back in soft, elegant waves that shimmered in the light. Each strand seemed to flow with a life of its own, accentuating the graceful curve of her neck and shoulders.

Stella's striking dark pink eyes, like embers glowing in a dying fire, held an intense, fiery allure. They sparkled with both warmth and mystery, drawing you in with every glance. Her beauty was undeniable—her flawless skin, sharp yet delicate features, and radiant presence made her one of the most stunning women Travis had ever laid eyes on. There was an effortless elegance to the way she moved, as if the world slowed down to admire her.

The other girl was Amelia Wilson. She had long, bright pink hair that flowed down her back like a cascade of silk, its vibrant hue making her stand out in any crowd. Her hair seemed to radiate a soft, playful energy, creating an air of sweetness around her. Her eyes were a stunning shade of blue, as clear and endless as the summer sky, giving her gaze a calm and serene quality.

Amelia, too, was incredibly beautiful, easily on the same level as Stella. Her beauty had a different charm—where Stella's intensity drew you in with fiery allure, Amelia's presence was softer, more approachable, like a gentle breeze on a warm day.

Travis took a moment to admire their beauty before saying what he intended. The two girls looked at him with confusion, and suddenly, Stella's expression turned into a frown.

"What do you want?" she asked, glaring at Travis. Amelia, on the other hand, simply looked at him with a blank expression.

"Wow, I kind of expected that reaction from her. She reminds me of a girl I used to know," he thought as he prepared to respond. A subtle smile formed on his face as he said,

"Hey, I just wanted to know your names. I'm Travis, in case you didn't already know. Nice to meet you both." He extended his hand.

Stella looked at his hand with disgust, but Amelia took it, shaking it with a friendly smile.

"Hello, I'm Amelia, and this is my friend Stella. I'm really looking forward to being classmates with you," she said.

Travis instantly found himself favoring Amelia over Stella, who now seemed irritated with Amelia for introducing herself.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Amelia," he said with a grin. "So, tell me, how's life in Class A? I'd love to fit in as soon as possible."

Amelia paused for a moment, thinking. "Well, everyone here is basically your rival. The number one spot doesn't stay with one person for long, so it's a pretty competitive class," she explained.

"That's good to know. At least now I understand I need to take everything seriously. When you say competitive, you mean every single class, right? Even math?"

"Yeah," Amelia replied, glancing at Stella. "Stella here has held the highest mark for the past two weeks. Isn't that right?" she said, turning to her best friend.

Stella nodded proudly. "Yep. And I'm not about to let a newcomer take that spot," she added, shooting Travis a fierce glare.

Travis shrugged with a slight grin. "Never been good at math anyway, so it's all yours. Why don't we grab a seat? I've honestly got more questions," he suggested.

They went and sat on a bench, with Travis somehow ending up in the middle of them. The boys in the class stared in disbelief. Travis, sitting between Amelia and Stella, was like something out of a dream. This had never happened before. Amelia and Stella only talked to the other girls, and they only spoke to guys when absolutely necessary.

"Man, what does he have that I don't?" one of the boys asked, sounding defeated.

"Maybe the guts to actually talk to them instead of sitting in the corner staring. Especially you, Greg," someone else chimed in.

"Man, shut up! I did that once! And I wasn't even staring—I was daydreaming! I just happened to be looking at her while I did it," Greg defended himself.

"Yeah, well, ever since that day, they've been giving all of us the cold shoulder."

They all complained, with everyone blaming poor Greg. He just sighed, knowing this conversation had been repeated more times than he cared to count.

"So, tell me about the S-Class. I've only heard about them once, and now I know how to get in," Travis asked, his curiosity piqued.

Stella squinted her eyes in confusion. "You plan on entering that class?" she asked, her tone laced with doubt.

Amelia looked equally puzzled. "Why, though? I mean, you're already in Class A. Unless that's your ultimate goal?"

"It is, of course. Now, tell me about them," he insisted.

"Well, first off, we know next to nothing about them. Just like how we're separated from the unawakened, they have their own section of the school. It's honestly hard to even get into that area," Amelia explained.

"They're on a completely different level than us," Stella added. "The first-years in that class are as strong as D-ranked Hunters. So, it's no surprise we aren't even in the same conversation as them."

"I also heard some of them have already been scouted by guilds. Their futures are practically set. I'd love to be in that class, but we're just too weak by comparison. Why do you want to join them?" Amelia asked, clearly intrigued.

Travis grinned. "Well, it's obvious, isn't it? I want to be number one. And the idea that there's a higher class than me just makes me want to ascend beyond my own limits. That's just who I am."

Both girls stared at Travis, wide-eyed. To them, he was quite the anomaly—he had just joined their class after a brief awakening, yet here he was, aiming higher than anyone else.

Somehow, his ambition stirred something within them, making them realize they hadn't been aiming high enough.

"Well, maybe we should aim for S-Class too. What do you think, Stella?" Amelia said, her voice filled with newfound determination.

"Yeah. I wouldn't want to be left behind by a newcomer," Stella agreed with a smirk.
