Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: The Magical Wardrobe Malfunction

Elyas had always dreamed of creating something truly spectacular with his magic—something that would leave everyone at the academy in awe. His latest ambition was to master the art of magical clothing. The idea was simple: create enchanted robes that could change color and style at will. How hard could it be?

After hours of painstaking practice in his dorm, Elyas finally succeeded in enchanting a simple robe. It was magnificent—shimmering in blues, purples, and greens like a liquid rainbow. Elyas was practically vibrating with excitement as he prepared to unveil his creation to the academy.

The next day, he strutted into class, his robe flowing behind him like a magnificent tapestry. His classmates watched in admiration as the robe shifted colors and patterns with every step. Elyas basked in the attention, feeling like a walking masterpiece.

Seraphina, who had been busy studying, looked up and gave him an approving nod. For a moment, Elyas felt like a magical celebrity. But as with most of Elyas's grand plans, things were about to take a turn for the ridiculous.

It started subtly. The robe's colors began to flicker and stutter like a faulty light bulb. Elyas shrugged it off, thinking it was just a minor glitch. But then, without warning, the robe's enchantment malfunctioned completely. Instead of merely changing colors, it began cycling through entirely different outfits.

In the blink of an eye, Elyas went from dazzling in his rainbow robe to being dressed as a court jester. The outfit included a frilly collar, an outrageous hat with jingling bells, and—much to Elyas's horror—a pair of ridiculously oversized shoes.

Elyas (frantically): "This isn't what I planned!"

His classmates burst into laughter as Elyas tried to navigate the room, the bells on his hat jingling with every movement. Just as he was starting to regain his composure, the robe transformed again. This time, he was clad in full knight's armor, complete with a gleaming helmet that completely obscured his face.

Elyas (muffled, struggling with the helmet): "I can't see anything!"

The armor was heavy and cumbersome, and Elyas stumbled around, bumping into desks and students. The helmet had fogged up, making his predicament even worse. The more he tried to fix it, the more comically inept he appeared.

Seraphina couldn't contain her laughter as she watched Elyas clank around in the knight's armor. Marlowe, ever the opportunist, seized the moment. He pulled out a small drum from his bag and began to beat out a ridiculous rhythm, turning the classroom into an impromptu comedy show.

Marlowe (drumming): "Let's give it up for Elyas, the magical knight!"

Elyas, now thoroughly embarrassed, was finally relieved when the robe changed yet again—this time into a full ballgown complete with sequins, a puffy skirt, and an absurdly large sash. The transformation was so complete that Elyas couldn't help but spin around awkwardly, trying to avoid tripping over the voluminous fabric.

Marlowe (clapping enthusiastically): "Bravo, Elyas! You're a true fashion icon!"

Elyas's face turned crimson as he tried to navigate his way to the back of the classroom. The ballgown sparkled under the fluorescent lights, adding to the spectacle. He could hear snickers and laughter echoing around the room, but there was nothing he could do but endure.

Professor Grimbald, who had been observing the chaos with a bemused expression, finally stepped in. With a few quick incantations, he managed to halt the robe's erratic transformations and return Elyas to his original outfit.

Professor Grimbald (shaking his head): "Elyas, it appears you've created a rather unpredictable piece of magic. Perhaps some fine-tuning is in order."

Elyas, still adjusting to his normal attire, managed a weak smile.

Elyas (sheepishly): "I guess I got a bit carried away with the enchantment."

Seraphina, still chuckling, gave him a reassuring pat on the back.

Seraphina (grinning): "Well, you certainly made an impression. Just maybe not the one you intended."

As the laughter in the classroom died down, Elyas couldn't help but join in. The situation, though mortifying, had turned into one of those stories he knew would be retold for years to come.

Marlowe, always one to seize an opportunity, sidled up to Elyas with a grin.

Marlowe (playfully): "Hey, don't worry about it. At least you're the only one who can turn a fashion show into a medieval circus and a royal ball all in one go."

Elyas (smiling despite himself): "Maybe I should just stick to making normal clothes. Or at least avoid adding griffin's claws."

The rest of the class went on without further incident, though Elyas couldn't escape the occasional smirk or wink from his classmates. By the end of the day, the robe incident had become the highlight of the academy's gossip mill.

As Elyas walked back to his dormitory, he felt a strange mix of embarrassment and pride. His attempt to create something spectacular had resulted in a classroom comedy show, but in a way, it was a success. He had managed to bring laughter and lightness to his friends, even if it was at his own expense.

Elyas (to himself): "Well, here's to hoping my next magical experiment doesn't turn me into a walking joke."

With that thought, Elyas headed off, ready to face whatever magical mishaps lay ahead with the same humor and resilience that had seen him through countless other adventures.
