Invisibility was one of those prestigious, advanced spells that seemed almost too good to be true. Elyas had spent days in earnest practice—disappearing under his bed, sneaking around in the broom closet, and even attempting to vanish while brushing his teeth. He was determined to prove that he could be more than just a walking, talking series of magical mishaps.
One bright and breezy afternoon, Elyas achieved his goal. He managed to make himself invisible—well, sort of. As he looked down at himself, he saw that he was hidden, except for his left leg, which stubbornly refused to cooperate. It was like he was wearing an invisible cloak with a hole in it. Still, he was thrilled and paraded around his room, marvelling at how he could sneak past his roommates without them noticing.
Feeling confident, Elyas decided it was time for some harmless fun. Seraphina was enjoying a quiet afternoon in the courtyard, reading under a large oak tree. Elyas figured this would be the perfect opportunity to test his invisibility in a real-world setting—and maybe, just maybe, pull off a prank.
He approached her silently, determined to give his new trick a proper debut. His plan was to tap her shoulder, give a sly smile, and then disappear into thin air. What could possibly go wrong?
Elyas (whispering to himself): "Okay, Elyas. Just a little tap, then vanish. Easy-peasy."
As he reached out to tap her shoulder, Elyas felt a strange sensation. Instead of becoming fully invisible, only certain parts of him were concealed. His right arm, left leg, and part of his face were completely visible, while the rest of him seemed to have vanished into thin air. He resembled a disembodied puzzle piece floating in the air.
Seraphina (looking around, startled): "What... Elyas? What are you doing?"
Elyas (trying to hide his embarrassment): "I was attempting to be invisible. It's... not going as planned."
Seraphina squinted at the floating disembodied parts. Her confusion quickly gave way to amusement.
Seraphina (trying not to laugh): "Is this some new form of performance art? Because if it is, I must say, it's a unique approach."
Elyas (frantically): "No! I mean, maybe? I don't know. Just—hold on!"
As Elyas tried to adjust the spell, he accidentally made the situation worse. Instead of achieving full invisibility, he began to glow bright green. The glow was so intense it looked like he had been doused in neon paint. The entire courtyard was bathed in a fluorescent light that made Elyas resemble a particularly enthusiastic firefly.
Kellen, who had been lounging nearby and witnessing the whole fiasco, couldn't contain his laughter.
Kellen (laughing): "Well, you're definitely not invisible now! You look like a walking, glowing highlighter! What's next, are you going to start singing 'Neon Lights'?"
Elyas, now in full-blown panic mode, stumbled around the courtyard, trying to hide behind trees and benches. However, his glowing green aura made it impossible for him to blend in. Students and faculty alike gawked at him, their eyes widening as the fluorescent figure darted from one spot to another.
Seraphina (giggling): "I guess this is one way to make sure everyone knows you're around!"
Professor Grimbald, who had been observing the commotion with a mixture of concern and bemusement, finally decided it was time to intervene.
Professor Grimbald (with a bemused smile): "Elyas, I must commend you for your creativity. You've managed to turn invisibility into a... very colorful display."
Elyas (mortified): "Can you help me? I didn't mean for this to happen! I just wanted to be invisible, not glow like a traffic signal!"
With a few quick incantations and a touch of magical expertise, Professor Grimbald was able to reverse the spell and return Elyas to his normal state. The green glow dissipated, and Elyas was left standing there, red-faced and thoroughly embarrassed.
Professor Grimbald (chuckling): "Well, at least you're not glowing anymore. But I think we might need to have a chat about proper spell application. Perhaps we should stick to simpler spells for a while?"
The entire courtyard burst into laughter as Elyas, now back to his usual self, tried to regain his composure. The nickname "Green Glow" quickly spread through the academy, and for the rest of the term, Elyas was greeted with good-natured jabs and teasing about his unfortunate invisibility experiment.
Seraphina (teasingly): "I have to admit, Elyas, you really know how to make a memorable entrance. Who knew invisibility came with a built-in spotlight?"
Elyas (sighing): "Yeah, I'll add 'glowing green' to my list of magical disasters. At least it wasn't as bad as the potion incident."
As he walked away, the sound of laughter and playful banter followed him. Though he had once again managed to turn a simple spell into a fiasco, Elyas couldn't help but feel a bit of relief. At least this time, his magical mishap had provided a good laugh for everyone—including himself.
And so, the saga of Elyas's magical blunders continued, each new disaster adding to the colorful tapestry of his life at the academy. Whether it was a glowing green fiasco, an accidental body swap, or an explosive potion, one thing was certain: Elyas's journey through magic was anything but ordinary.
