Chapter 58 - Mother and Child

――Demon King's Castle, residential quarters, a certain room.

It was a lavishly decorated room, unusual for one belonging to a demon. The green tapestry was embroidered with golden tribal patterns, and from the ceiling hung a chandelier made of crystal and gold, crafted by dwarves. Portraits of the family and landscape paintings, created by human artists, adorned the walls. Alongside these stood statues—a black obsidian statue of the first Demon King, Raougius, and a solid gold figure of the current Demon King, Gorduagius.

Sitting on a leather sofa made from high elf skin was a demon woman adorned with an emerald necklace and wearing a flashy, highly revealing dress. Her long, green hair was tied and draped over her right shoulder as she puffed lazily on a smoking pipe. Her eyes, pitch black like those of a venomous snake, absorbed and trapped every bit of light, resembling a void.

"So, you're telling me you came back after doing absolutely nothing?"
