Chapter 5 - Broken Limits

Inside Jack's room, something miraculous was going on. His body which was already beyond the limit of a base line human was evolving to another state of being. His soul which was already very powerful from fusing with his much stronger alternative self was now devouring the soul essence of a Fallen Angel.

Not a very powerful one, but he didn't need to be. Jack's DNA was absorbing and assimilating the Fallen Angel's blood like a hungry predator. Apophis didn't even need to help as Jack finished his assimilation of the Fallen Angel blood essence. He opened his eyes which seemed like a mix of dark blue with light violet.

He stood up from his bed and from his back emerged a pair of large black feathered wings. The feathers from them were extremely dark that it seemed they devoured any light that fell from them.

Jack smiled to himself as he balled his hand into a fist getting a feel for his strength. Despite being Superhuman as a result of his training he did have limits. By becoming a Fallen Angel his tissues and bones had become considerably stronger and more resistant than before. This meant he would be able to push himself harder in a fight.

The best part was that now he did not have to worry about dying of old age. He would live for thousands of years allowing him to train without worrying about something as pesky as aging.

He held his hand out as he instinctively knew he could use Light Magic. He created a Spear of Light, which flashed into existence Lightning up his room. However, something odd happened as the bright light construct darkened leaving only an outline of light around a dark construct.

"That is odd."

[I will say, you can do that already with darkness and shape it, but that is still light magic. It just has been infused with your darkness. Dark Light Magic.]

Jack waved his hand and dispelled it and he retracted his wings. He could feel his Mana changing, his senses growing stronger, and many more things. He would need to find out what becoming a Fallen Angel would mean in the future, but for now, he could rest at ease. He fell into his bed after removing his shoes.

Amara jumped up onto his chest before curling up and preparing to sleep. He closed his eyes with the full intention of sleeping the night away. As he did that, Apophis returned to her reverse engineering of the Boost.

How could she be satisfied with such a powerful ability not fully under control? Her abillities were powerful, but not to the point of breaking the world. Boost was one such power with its ability to double without limit. That was what was taking most of her efforts these days as it wasn't her power.

The next morning when Jack woke up he instantly felt the changes. Throughout the night, his Mana and soul had been changing to adapt to him becoming a Fallen Angel. His Mana had changed as Fallen Angels could also use a type of Magic that was similar to Devil's Imagination-based Magic System.

Just from what he could feel the first thing he woke up was that his genetics had adapted to the new bloodline he assimilated. He checked his watch first and saw that he had not slept the whole night away.

It was currently 6 AM which was around the time his Father would go to work. He didn't focus on that as he wanted to get a feel for his situation.

"Apophis, your thoughts?]

[From what I can tell from your Soul Scape, by becoming a Fallen Angel, your soul became stronger than before. It is no secret that humans are really weak, but they are adaptable to change.

How else did so many of my fellow Dragons get killed by heroes, Dragon Slaying Swords or not? This is why hybrids with humans are so often much stronger than their parents because they can adapt and evolve while carrying the benefits of their Supernatural parent.

You have the same benefits as if you were a hybrid.]

Jack nodded to himself as he got up from bed. Yesterday was Friday so today he didn't have school today. As he got up, he began to get dressed as it was January right now.

He put on his outdoor clothes to deal with the cold. As for Amara, she was huge and fluffy so she loved this time of year. Already he could see the giant Maine Coon looking outside the window.

"Come on, I want to test some things out."

With a meow, she jumped on his shoulder so he left his room to make his way outside. Using a bit of sound-erasing magic, he made his way to the front door before making his way outside.

Just as he expected, it was snowing just like the day he almost died. He smiled to himself as while he did crack his head pretty badly, in the end, he did gain strength in exchange.

Once he was outside, he with Amara on his shoulder started to walk down the street. He wanted to find a chance to teleport as he wanted to get a feel for his new strength in secret.

Just when he passed Aya's house, he saw the window to her room open up on the top floor. She yawned as she looked down her window at him.

"Jack? What are you doing outside this early?"

"It's Saturday so I wanted to go outside to enjoy my day. Go back to sleep."

She nodded.

"A good idea. Bye."

She closed her window knowing she, would be snoring in a few minutes. He shook his head as made eventually found what he was looking for. A quiet alleyway he walked down and after making sure he wasn't being spotted he opened a teleport magic circle under his feet which teleported him and Amara away.

He had gotten quite good at teleporting since it was a spell ever self-respecting mage should know. He then appeared in Antarctica where he could work in peace. Almost no humans lived here other than some scientists so it made the perfect place.

Amara jumped off his shoulder onto the snow. As for Jack, he unfurled his wings which emerged from his back. He tensed them before he blasted into the sky, but he didn't need to flap them.

Rather than constantly flapping, his wings functioned as anti-gravity devices as they used Mana to fly him through the sky. However, once he was in the sky he smiled as who didn't want to fly.

He took off flying where he began to spin around, and dive-bombed before stopping abruptly.

"Flying is quite easy."

[Flying is easy, but I wouldn't know what wings are like since I am an Eastern Dragon.]

"That makes me wonder, if I traded you my wings, what would happen?"

[Ah, now there is a good question. Would they be gone and you would be able to fly like me, or would they dragonify instead? Want to test it?]

"Nope."

Jack then made his way back down to the ground where Amara was patiently waiting. The cat didn't even seem bothered with the cold since the larger the animal was the better they could endure the cold.

Maine Coon's especially with their thick coats and large sizes.

"That is the wings tested. Now for my magic."

Jack raised his hand and a quadruple-played magic circle appeared. Part, fire, wind, water, and lightning. The lightning magic would separate the oxygen and hydrogen in the water, the wind would gather that gas and compress them separately.

The two orbs of compressed gas were then fed to the fire separately with the wind in a funnel around all three. This process happened in less than a second and when Jack unleashed it, a tornado of bright blue fire was unleashed.

As the tornado traveled further it released continuous explosions unleashing fire in all directions.

"My Blue Fire spell is still as deadly as before, now then, what happens if I add Darkness."

He raised his hand and five different magic circles began to spin around. Honestly, while he disliked Math when he didn't use it, he used it every day when he used magic. It became second nature to him and almost like a friend.

Something he hadn't even taken into account was that as a Fallen Angel, the speed his brain processed thoughts was faster than before. In a few moments, he created a new spell by using the all-consuming Darkness.

He repeated the Blue Fire combustion and explosion, but just before releasing it, he merged the fireball with darkness causing it to turn pitch black. When he unleashed this new spell, the strength of the explosions was many times more destructive.

He watched as the tornado of dark fire unleashed huge explosions that of fire. That fire carried the properties of Apophis darkness which would dissolve and erase anything they came into contact with.

Including the snow, air, magic, or anything.

[I see you found one of my favorite tricks. My Darkness and Primordial Water are dangerous enough, but when I mix them with my mastery of darkness, that is taken even further. Mix my Darkness with Wind Magic and make the air dangerous to breathe.

Use Earth and Fire magic and make a lava. Or, Freeze it to create constructs. So many possibilities.]

"I can see that. Time to test the limits of my Dark Light."

Jack focused on his now innate control over Light Magic which had muted under the effects of the Abyssal Eclipse Gear. Above his head, ten spears of light condensed which he fired off into the distance.

When they struck the ground they exploded with extreme force unleashing the corrosive effect of Apophis' Darkness. Jack held his hand out as a sword of dark light appeared in his right hand and a large tower shield in the other.

He threw both explosives into the already ruined surroundings. When the two constructs exploded, he nodded to himself before he waved his hand to unleash a wave of magic to snuff out any long-term effects of his testing.

"I can safely say that my magical abillities have been enhanced. I will need to test out how much stronger I have gotten physically and that is not taking into account your understanding of the Boosts."

[I concur with your thought. However, as I said if we want to understand more of it, gaining access to the Gems of the Boosted Gear's Balance Breaker would be useful. Maybe you can find that boy, Issei Hyoudou, and use him to farm gems.]

"To do that I would have to go to Kuoh which is a Devil breeding ground. It also doesn't help that I am now a Fallen Angel and they will most likely see me as an agent of Grigori. I rather not start a Great War at ten years old. Let me turn 18 at least."

[Hahaha, that would make sense.]

Jack shook his head as he walked over to Amara who had been playing in the snow. He reached down and picked up the large cat.

"Time to go, I can do a more thorough examination later."

Without delaying it further, he teleported back home into his room. He had only been gone about half an hour. When he made it back to the safety of his house he sat down at his desk.

He focused and on his right hand, his black gauntlet appeared. He focused on it and from the gem emerged one of his books. He then dismissed the gauntlet and opened his spell book where he had crafted several of his magics.

It was something that brought up quite a lot of happiness to create new more destructive magics. He was only ten after all just that the experiences of his other self had made him more mature for his age.

When one held a Sacred Gear that didn't exist in this world, one might as well use it to the fullest.
