"Happy anniversary!"
Zabron was thrilled. For two years that had been his favorite day. Together, he and Bella would do a bunch of stuff which mostly ended with them in bed banging like monkeys. He had planned a perfect picnic date just for them with a cake he baked and iced all by himself because their relationship was worth it.
"Happy anniversary." Bella chuckled.
"Are you excited for today? I have a bunch of things planned."
"Give me a hint so I don't end up underdressed or overdressed."
"Hint; Wear comfy shoes."
"Got it."
As Zabron kept talking like an animated character, Bella was cracking her toes, something she did whenever she was nervous about something. It was a beautiful day and they had a beautiful relationship. Zabron was a beautiful man, but why was Sabrina's opinion haunting her even on that day, mostly on that day? It was awfully loud inside her head as she struggled to dismiss it. But it kept coming back. She knew she wouldn't be happy as long as that question kept existing in there. It was intoxicating.
"I'm going to ask you a question, babe. Feel free to ignore it." Said Bella after making up her mind.
"Go ahead. Anything."
"Is-Is there something you've not yet told me?"
"Like what?"
"Like anything that you feel I must know. You know everything about me, even my deepest, most embarrassing secret. But I feel like you're caging something from me, something I deserve to know."
Zabron scratched his chin. He had no idea what she was insinuating. He'd been very open in their relationship. He's been emotionally mature and open about his feelings. An amazing boyfriend he was and Bella was aware. No wonder it felt like a painful pinch to ask him that kind of question.
"If you feel like I'm not telling you anything, it's because I'm waiting for the right time to tell you." Zabron replied, unfortunately putting himself at a disadvantage with that answer unknowingly.
"When is the right time?" Bella asked, now triggered.
"I think it's too early _"
"Wow, really?" her surprise tone was sarcastic. "We've been together for two years and you still think it's not worth it to tell me what you've been hiding?"
"I'm not hiding anything from you."
"Then tell me."
"I can't tell you what I don't know. What do you want to hear?"
"That thing you can't tell me. That's what I want _" She sighed. "You know what? I don't think I'm in the mood for outdoor activities today. Let's see each other next time."
"Come on, Bella. Are we really fighting now?"
"No."
"When is next time?"
"When I'm ready to see you."
Bella hung up, leaving Zabron with a ton of questions. He didn't know where that came from. He knew what he hadn't told Bella. He just couldn't find the courage to tell her that he and Lessin used to date and eventually got pregnant but a miscarriage happened. Only he didn't believe it's a miscarriage. He believed his child was aborted by a heartless mother.
So, if in fact that's what Bella was knocking on his chest about, there's only one person who could've planted that seed in her. Truly there was no secret between two people. And it angered him to the core.
