Chapter 47 - CHAPTER 47

Helzeny had already forgotten about the mysterious bouquet of roses she'd found outside the door. Whoever it was, she'd disregarded him completely. She walked into the business building where her next class was to take place. The hallway was long, but the music in her ears created an imaginary shortcut. She didn't know everybody in the building. She hardly knew 10 people. But then she saw one more, standing next to the board, pinning what seemed to be an announcement or a poster.

Her eyebrows popped up, and the speed accelerated. In no time she was standing in front of the board, next to him.

"You've got to be kidding me!" She said, shocked.

"Oh, hi Helzeny."

The guy was Jamal. He was her on and off boyfriend for a year. At that time, they were off.

"And I clearly remember you saying you were moving states because your father got a transfer." Helzeny proceeded.

"He did transfer. I chose to stay." Jamal explained.

"That's not what you told me last time we called it quits."

"I didn't tell you many things last time we called it quits."

"Ha, funny. You're being funny now."

Jamal heaved a sigh, "Alright. I'm here. I don't get why you're so worked up about it. We're no longer dating."

"I still don't appreciate your lies."

And then it hit her. Was he the dude who sent her the flowers? It made so much sense now. Gosh, was she stressing for nothing?

"I hate roses by the way." She said like she's brushing it off.

"I know." Jamal replied in an obvious tone.

"You still got me a bouquet of roses."

"Wait, what?"

"What?"

"Why should I buy flowers for my ex?"

"I wanted to ask you the same thing."

"I didn't buy you a bouquet of roses."

"Can you cut it out , please? You're full of lies. Just be a man and man up."

"I am a man, and I'm telling you the truth. I have no idea about the roses."

Helzeny's alarm rang, startling the hell out of her. She was going to be late for class if she remained standing there a minute longer. So she rushed down the hallway, but now with an eerie feeling that there was a mysterious man watching her, and not in a romantic stalker way she feared. She was scared.
