Freya had invited the girls for dinner at a well reputed restaurant. They'd be gone their separate ways again in a week and needed that time together at least. So much had happened in that short break and they knew to have the most of it. Now the next chapter was unfolding. Luck needed to be informed or it'd take a vacation.
As she'd expected, Ylle never came. It was just them seven. But amongst the 7, some underground dramas were still taking place. The ground was quaking, and the origin wasn't a single location.
Zydal had put on the Prada mules purposely to show the girls that she owned a designer brand. The shoes had a special aura that made people notice them first before the dress. Even as she sat, all needed to know where she got them from.
"They're Prada.", she announced, "Scully bought them as a gift for me.",
"Scully did?", Cora asked, surprised.
They both knew Scully and his mood disorders. He wasn't one to buy people presents, even if they're family.
"He bought them for a special girl, but she turned him down. So, he gave them to me."
Helzeny looked at her with a smirk. She knew it was all about her. She'd lost a bit of respect she had towards her after she broke her promise. Zydal swore not to make it a big deal but there she was, poking her in the chest with an imaginary stick. But Helzeny wasn't much to fancy a fight, or an argument. There was no point in arguing about that. She chose not to.
"The girl dodged a bullet.", River joked, some laughed.
"Scully is a nice guy.", Lessin argued against, "I'd give him a chance if I was that girl.",
"Well", Zydal shrugged, "I guess some still believe they're getting younger, not older.",
It began to get on Helzeny's nerves. How can someone be so immature? It bothered her.
"Speaking of dating, I'd rather date a guy like Scully, than date my friend's ex.", Cora said it like an announcement.
"Eww!",
The girls exclaimed except two; Winslow and Lessin. That was their mine to step on.
"You can't date your friend's ex. First of all, why?", Helzeny added,
"I know right.", Cora salted, "It makes you look cheap and desperate.",
"But", Winslow took the imaginary mic, "Is he really an Ex if they never actually dated?",
Mic drop. Quiet.
The question hovered like dust.
"Okay. They never dated but had feelings for each other. How about that?", Cora questioned,
"Have they ever kissed before?", Winslow added,
"Ye-yes.",
"Did the friend know that they did?",
"Doesn't matter.",
"Does she still have feelings for him?",
Cora paused. She hesitated to answer that. In the meantime, they were the only ones talking at the table. Some had the idea of what it might be, but Lessin knew it inside out.
Cora's guts were kneaded. She hated being shut.
"Let's say you had a feeling that your boyfriend was cheating on you with A. And you spent your life worrying about A.", Winslow continued, "Then one day you catch your boyfriend fucking B. You never even knew B existed. One year later, you're still crying about the boy, pondering over if he truly loved you or not, wondering who he's dating and if you still have a chance. That's pathetic.",
"You're a gaslighter.", Cora stated over her clenched jaw, "No wonder people _",
"Guys, stop it.", Lessin jumped in,
"Why are you arguing over a stupid question?", Helzeny added,
"Maybe it's true.", said Zydal,
Freya clicked her glass, gaining attention. "I didn't call you guys here to argue over dicks. We have a serious matter to discuss.",
It began to calm down.
"Ylle's dad got fired a couple of days ago.", River announced,
"Oh no.", Zydal saddened.
"That's bad.", Winslow added,
They were all concerned.
"It gets worse.", Freya continued, "Because of the tight budget, her dad asked her to postpone college until he figures out his family's financial situation.",
"There's no guarantee that it'll take a short time.", River added, "So, if it's possible, can we just raise some funds for her, only for this semester?",
"Freya alone can do that", Cora blurted.
Reactions were divided. Some agreed with her, and some didn't.
"I can't do much now.", Freya confessed, "I can pay half the semester fees but only after you guys raise the remaining half.",
"We can do that.", Winslow nodded, "I can give my share by tomorrow morning.",
"Same.", Zydal raised her hand.
"I'm gonna need like 2 days to talk to my parents. I'm sure I can get something.", said Lessin.
"Me too.", Helzeny expressed it.
"So generally we need that money before the week ends so that she can register for classes, right?", Cora asked again,
"Yes.", River nodded, "I'm getting paid on Friday. I'll put my share then.",
"Then it's settled.", Freya clapped, "We need to send our bitch to school before she schools us.".
