Queen Minzy was the name of the psychic everybody was talking about. She had a small office in town and one had to make an appointment for them to get a reading. Ylle, since she's the one who proposed the idea, had made a booking for eight people. Unfortunately, River couldn't make it as she had to stay at the hospital with Praxeda.
So it was seven of them VS Queen Minzy. Their appointment was for 4 pm, and at 4 o'clock sharp, they were already there. The psychic's office was spacious, but lacked natural light. There were candles, and crystals everywhere. The smell of sage dominated the room. They all took their respective seats and waited for the psychic to arrive.
Lessin didn't want to be there. She was very skeptical and didn't entertain the idea that mere mortals can see the past and predict the future. She had an imaginary titanium vest to shield her from everything she'd hear. She only wanted to physically be there for her friends.
Queen Minzy entered the room with much aura. They expected someone with a hundred crystal rings on her fingers, bangles and drawings all over her skin. To the contrary, Queen Minzy was a mature woman wearing a simple overall and a crocheted cardigan with rainbows. Her hair was long, black and wavy. She had clean makeup on her face and a very welcoming smile.
She took her seat and exhaled sharply.
"Welcome girls. My name is Queen Minzy. I've been a psychic-medium for 5 decades. It's a gift I was born with and I'm glad to share it with my community.", she introduced herself with so much kindness.
"Hi. I'm Helzeny. It was my birthday yesterday. The girls and I decided to do this special thing together. Nothing to lose.",
"I can already feel your love for your friends. You have a very big heart, Helzeny. These girls are lucky to have found you.",
It was something good to hear coming from someone so gifted. But Lessin was still tough-minded.
"Something tells me this isn't everyone.", Queen Minzy proceeded,
"Because we made an appointment for 8 people and now we're 7. Anyone can guess that.", Lessin couldn't keep her opinion.
They all suppressed their reactions, hoping the psychic won't be offended by it. Queen Minzy smiled. She only played with the one ring on her finger as she scanned all of them. Her first read was Helzeny.
"As I said before. You have a very big heart. But I see that you're approaching a period of decision making. You'll stand on a junction. The choice you make will be irreversible.",
"What do you advise me?", Helzeny asked,
"This will be the only choice I'd advise you to make logically. Put all your feelings aside and listen to your head instead.",
Helzeny nodded.
The second read was Cora and Ylle as their predictions were kind of matching
"I have a feeling that you're on the wrong path.", Queen Minzy turned her ring, "What courses are you taking?",
"Business.", they both stated at the same time.
"Yeah, very wrong. This is going to come as a very hard pill to swallow, but you chose wrong. Your window for a change is slowly closing as we speak. Now is the time to jump into your right paths.",
"Honestly, I love journalism, but my parents are businessmen. They just want me to walk a path they're familiar with.", Cora explained,
"Your parents already lived their lives. This is yours. Change your majors from next year.",
"What about me?", Ylle asked,
"Any path which will let your creative side shine, follow it. Literature, film and theater, interior design, those kind of courses, take your pick from there.",
Ylle smiled. It seemed she'd received an answer to what had been bothering her.
Queen Minzy's gaze stopped on Freya. Her smile dimmed. It looked like she was hesitating to say something. And that made Freya very uncomfortable and nervous to hear what was going to be said.
"You lost someone.", Queen Minzy began, eyes saddening more and more, "I see a letter F coming up.",
Freya chuckled scoffily, tears forming, "Faraja, my mom's name. It means Joy.", she told her,
"I'm seeing an Aerial view of an accident, two black cars.",
"Yeah.", she sniffled, "It was a car accident.", her voice was cracking.
Cora held her hand. They all knew it was a tough memory to relive. They wished Minzy would stop, but that's not how it worked.
"Your mom's spirit is speaking to me now. Are you open to hearing what she's saying?", Queen Minzy asked.
Freya nodded.
"Okay.", Minzy heaved an exhale, "Your mom is saying she felt no pain at all. Her soul departed the body right before the impact.",
Freya cried quietly, head lowered, tears wetting her lap.
"She says she never left your side, and she's always watching over you. The love you know she had for you, know that it's so much more, very much more.",
Freya nodded. It was hard for her to smile.
"Your mama tells you not to doubt yourself. You're so much more. She tells me that you already know what you want.",
Again, Freya nodded. Minzy pushed a box of tissue towards her, "There you go sweetie. Now, your mother warns me of a huge fight that's going to happen in your family. First, she wants you to know that you won't be alone, and that no matter how many points will be given, you'll still be right. Stand on freaking business.",
Freya scoffed as she dried her tears, "That's what she used to say. Stand on freaking business.",
At least the tension started to clear. Now Minzy turned to Zydal, "You're somebody who knows a lot, I'll give you that. You have something like a sixth sense, seeing somebody's true nature and intentions.", she told her.
Zydal nodded proudly, "I am.",
"Yes, you are. I see there's someone in your life who's kind of … what should I say, different? This is someone whose feelings are so tangled up lately that makes everyone frustrated.",
"I think I know who you're talking about.",
"What you think you know about this person is not all. Deep down, he's hiding something from you. There's a confession coming from a person. This person is scared. Once you find out what it is, show your support. Know that it'll take this person a lot of guts to confess it to you. Be there for them.", Minzy clarified.
Zydal nodded with a smile.
Next was Winslow. She was kind of nervous honestly.
"Why do I feel like people misread you?", Queen Minzy began, "You're a lovely human being but somehow people think you're not.",
"Because she's emotionless.", Ylle joked.
They shared a laugh.
"I just, I don't know.", Winslow shrugged,
"Of course you do. Everything you do is wrapped in love and genuine care. The universe is going to, if not already, send you someone. This person is the key to help you know what you don't know. The side you've hidden from the world, he's going to unveil it. My advice; Let him.",
They all awed, except Lessin. Everything that happened felt like an act. Skepticism was overpowering her. And Queen Minzy was aware. That's why she saved the best for last. Now everyone was curious to know what she'd be told.
"You didn't want to be here.", Queen Minzy began, "Why?",
"Because I don't believe in such stuff.", Lessin confidently replied,
"Or?",
Lessin was puzzled, "There's no or.",
"Or, I'll tell you something you don't want to hear.",
"You can't tell me anything because you know nothing about me.",
Minzy huffed, "My dear, who's Isack?",
A gasp suddenly escaped Lessin's lips. Her eyes widened with shock. Queen Minzy wistfully smiled, "Isack says he's okay, and happy and that he'll be back, not so soon though. He doesn't want what happened before to happen again.",
Lessin shook her head in disbelief, "Stop it.",
"He says it's not your fault. Stop blaming yourself.",
"Please, stop.",
"He loves you both very much. His only wish right now is for you to stop treating each other like strangers and go back to _",
Lessin grabbed her purse and left the room in a flash. Her hand rested on her chest as she struggled to catch a breath. Winslow went after her.
The whole room became quiet for a minute.
"Now", Queen Minzy heaved a sigh, "Does the one who's not here have anything to do with water?",
"Her name is River.", said Ylle,
"I see.", Minzy closed her eyes as she turned her ring, "She's surrounded by something dark, a covenant.",
"Oh, oh!", Helzeny was scared,
"This covenant had been honored for decades. But it's going to stop. And only she can do that. How? Spirit is refusing to show me. I guess that's something only she can figure out.". She opened her eyes, "Soon, it's going to be executed, marking the start of the end of this dark era. I want you all to be there for her or she'd lose her mind.",
