Chapter 5: The Boar
The boar, with its bristling, sharp tusks and fierce, intelligent eyes, stomped its front hooves, snorting in irritation.
Tai Lung took a deep breath. His training consisted of nothing but simple exercises—push-ups, sprints, horse stances, and meditation.
The system hadn't provided him with any combat techniques. No boxing, no muay thai, no karate, taekwondo, or jiu jitsu.
He had strength, agility, and endurance far beyond that of any normal five-year-old, but without a fighting method, the question remained: "How will I kill this boar?"
Physically, he had little to worry about. His accumulated stats equaled those of an adult, giving him an unprecedented advantage for his age.
But in a world where mere gestures could split islands, his achievements were not that particularly remarkable.
The boar snorted again, lowering its head and preparing to charge.
Tai Lung felt a wave of nervousness and fear but he pushed it aside. He had to think quickly. He needed a plan.
"Let it charge." The thought came to him as the boar began its thunderous dash towards him. Instead of meeting the beast head-on, Tai Lung sidestepped at the last moment, narrowly avoiding the sharp tusks.
The boar shot past him, its momentum carrying it directly toward a massive boulder he had positioned himself in front of.
There was a loud thud as the boar crashed into the boulder, momentarily dazed. But it wasn't enough to stop the beast—it shook its head, preparing for another charge.
Tai Lung quickly scanned the ground, spotting a thick, sturdy stick. Without hesitation, he grabbed it and positioned himself between the boar and the boulder again.
This time, when the boar charged, Tai Lung didn't dodge completely. Instead, he angled his body, driving the stick forward with all his strength as the boar barreled towards him.
The stick struck the boar's thick hide, but it didn't penetrate deeply. The boar screamed in pain, thrashing wildly, trying to dislodge the stick.
Tai Lung struggled to keep his grip, his small hands trembling from the effort. The stick wouldn't hold—the boar was too strong, its hide too tough.
Desperation filled him. He couldn't let the boar escape or recover. His eyes darted around, landing on a stone nearby. "A stone…"That was it!
He let go of the stick with one hand, grabbed the stone, and began smashing it down on the boar's head.
The boar roared in fury and pain, struggling even harder, but Tai Lung didn't stop. He bashed the stone against the boar's skull again and again, each blow sending shocks through his arm until, finally, with one last desperate swing, the boar collapsed.
Panting, Tai Lung stumbled back, his entire body trembling from the adrenaline. Blood smeared his hands, the stone, and the ground beneath him. The boar was dead.
He stared at the lifeless body, the reality of what he had just done slowly sinking in. This was his first kill—his first real fight. He had won, but the struggle was real.
"So this is what combat is like…" he thought, a mix of pride and exhaustion washing over him.

[You have been rewarded with: 10MP!]
I heard the familiar ring and a screen popped up in front of me.
Despite the exhaustion, the corners of my mouth can't help but rise up from happiness.
I was about to celebrate my triumphant victory when my eyes wandered in the sky and saw the orange skies.
At first I was calmed by the serene picturesque, but suddenly a horrible realization dawned upon me.
I was reminded of my biggest enemy.
Time!
It was almost sun down and I had to go back home quickly! If I don't go home on time my mother and father will kill me.
I stood up from my initial position and ran. But when the smell of blood whiffed into my nose I turned around and headed to find a river to wash myself.

"And where have you been, mister!?" An angry outburst greeted me as I entered through the door.
The figure of my mother standing in front of me while holding a ladle was intimidating. It was quite scary to look at. Her shadows cast over me.
I was heavily berated and nagged by my mother for an hour. An hour that felt like days, like forever.
Of course I was left with no choice but to accept her relentless verbal assault since the fault also lies in me.
"Sigh. Just go back to your room. You're grounded from leaving the house for a week." She said to me and nodded at her.
Thankfully it was over. If it lasted any longer than that my head would've exploded.
I walked over to my room, evading my mother's upset gaze. After entering I locked my room immediately and opened up my system.
I clicked the [Martial Store] and a wide array of selection was opened before me.
[
{Martial Arts}
{Spiritual Medicine}
{Weapons}
]
Without any hesitation I chose {Martial Arts} and a new section popped up.
[ {Martial Arts}:
{Offense}
{Defense}
{Maneuvering}
{Breathing}
{Qi Cultivation}
]]
Hmmmmm, so it's the typical selection. Hmmmm, as of right now the one I think I need the most is {Breathing}.
Offense, defense, and maneuvering can be learned later on, and right now they don't hold as much importance as manipulating qi.
For offense I can punch, for defense I can take a punch, and for maneuvering I can run from a punch but there's nothing for me to do with my Qi.
So the most optimal choice I can pick right now is {Breathing}.
