Today is the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin. I didn't want to go, but now that I have the Room of Requirement, I no longer have an excuse to say I don't have time to attend.
When I arrived at the main hall, I could see that Harry was starting to get nervous because it was his first match, and he wasn't feeling confident.
His friends tried to reassure him and even gave him food to make sure he had all the vitamins and proteins he needed for the game.
After that, we headed to the stands and tried to find a good spot to watch the game.
In the stands were myself, Marie, of course, Neville, Hermione, Ron and other Gryffindor students.
I could see the Slytherins, ready to mock Harry if he embarrassed himself during the game.
"It's actually the first time I've ever seen a Quidditch match."
"How can you say that, Evelyn? You're a witch, so you should have seen a game by now."
Marie looked at me as if I were some kind of special case.
"I preferred to devote myself to discovery and research rather than entertainment."
"You should have watched it at least once; it might have made you want to study brooms."
"I already have too many subjects to study at the moment, and even though the topic of brooms is interesting, I prefer to focus on the origin of magic and its decline."
"You seem quite cheerful when you talk about decline."
"It's a well-known fact. Ancient magic was stronger than modern magic, and the same applies to divine and Atlantean magic."
"You don't have to, but you could use a different term than 'decline,' because it gives a rather negative view of modern magic."
"But that's the point, to seek it out. At the time of the four founders, we were at the beginning of modern magic, and today their power is incredible. So just imagine in the era of Merlin, when they used ancient magic. Magic has declined so much that we are almost ready to call the magic we use today by another name."
"Big sister, can you be quiet? The match is about to start."
And to think it's because of me that Neville has become so impertinent.
The teams entered the field while Lee Jordan, Fred and George's best friend, was announcing their names.
"You're going to love Lee Jordan as a commentator. He's hilarious and so biased that he manages to annoy Professor McGonagall."
The match started normally, with Gryffindor demonstrating their technical skills and taking the lead. Hagrid came up to the stands near us because he couldn't see the match from his cabin.
At one point, the Golden Snitch was spotted, and as Harry raced toward it, a player blocked him, almost causing Harry to fall off his broom.
"Send him off! Red card!"
"It's not football, you can't just send a player off the field. And what's a red card?"
This conversation was between a Muggle-born child and Ron.
"To be fair, there should be a rule to send a player off for a while so they can think about their actions, especially for something as dangerous as that."
I could hear Lee insulting the Slytherin player twice before correcting himself and coming up with one of the most absurd statements ever.
"Flint nearly killed our Seeker, which could have happened to anyone!"
At that point, the game began to spiral out of control. The Gryffindor team, enraged by the dangerous move, started making reckless plays, and Slytherin took the lead.
"Just look at what's happening to Harry."
