Hyung carried Mirai on his back as he treads wearily through the streets. The few people that saw them looked at the two young men that appeared to be returning from a deadly fight. Their blood left a long trail behind them. Their clothes were burnt and Mirai looked like he was on the verge of death. The rain beat painfully on Hyung's skin as the crack refused to heal. His body was extremely hot and he could barely walk. Mirai was still unconscious and Hyung feared he may be dead. The only thing that he had in his hands was the medicine that Sonyeo needed to be well. He pushed his legs forward. The road appeared to be long and painful but he kept going. The rain proved to be an obstacle. Hyung walked by a shed where he saw some men drinking copious amounts of alcohol.
"HEY!!" called out one of the men. Hyung looked back and saw they were beckoning on him to join them. He looked at the weather and nearly turned but he remembered Sonyeo lying sick back home. He bowed and went on. The rain burnt his skin, causing smoke to emit from his body. Hyung could see their home in the distance. He smiled, knowing all he had gone through just to bring the medicine for the little boy. He walked into the building and dropped Mirai on the ground. He went straight for where he left Sonyeo. He tried to be quiet and he silently stepped into the room. He saw the bulge in the futon and went for it. He turned him over. Hyung's smile disappeared. His eyes opened wide.
"AHHHHHHHH!!!!!" screamed the man. His cry of confusion echoed in the building. Hyung kicked the monster that was in the futon. He jumped on the beast; a small goblin child that was in the covers. He hit it on the head. The goblin cried out but Hyung did not stop. He beat the head angrily, causing its head to burst. Its brains splattered on the ground but he kept going, never stopping. Hyung looked at the being he had brutally murdered and threw it outside. He sat down by the futon and tears streamed down his blood filled face. He tried to wipe it with his hands but the blood got into his eyes. He looked at his hands that were filled with the blood of the goblin child he had just killed. He stood and ran outside. His thoughts were flashing in his brain, running him crazy.
"Where's he? He could be out. Yeah, he could be outside. But he couldn't move when I left. What if he was killed? What if something or someone got him? Where is Sonyeo?"
He questioned himself. His body was heating up and small sparks of flame burst from his body. He ran through the streets. He went from building to building. He asked the people that he met if they had seen a little ten year old boy wandering around. The single thought kept running through his mind
"Where is Sonyeo?"
It rang as he searched everywhere. It echoed loudly in his head. It was driving him insane. He ran like he was possessed. His brain couldn't wrap its head over Sonyeo's sudden disappearance. His hair slowly turned red. His emotions were a mess. He realized that Sonyeo was gone. He stopped and looked at the sky. The heavens mocked him. The clouds danced in his misfortune and sent rain to the earth. The skies showed happiness at the loss of the one dear to him. He walked slowly back to his home in the rain. The pain he felt on his body was trivial compared to the one in his heart.
He went in and saw Mirai was awake. He was in a corner, shaking violently. His teeth clattered against themselves. The walls by him had deep scratch marks on them. His eyes bled out with a black blood. He ate his fingers, chewing into them as their blood ran through his hands. There was an aura of fear that embraced him. He looked like a drug addict; a sorry sight for the eyes.
Hyung was disgusted at the person he saw. The anger of losing Sonyeo made everything extremely worse. He walked up to Mirai and slapped the fingers out of his mouth. Mirai was down on the ground. He stopped shaking and sniffling could be heard. "Get up" said Hyung with anger in his voice. There was a loud crash "BAMM!!!" Mirai jumped on Hyung with tears streaming from his eyes. His face was contorted with misery. His shaky voice pleaded "HYUNG!!! I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK THERE!!! PLEASE DON'T TAKE ME BACK!!!!" His tears touched Hyung's face. They were cold. His eyes begged with extreme emotion. Hyung was sucked into the eyes and he didn't know when he pushed Mirai off his body. He moved back as he saw Mirai crawl towards him. He was scared. What could have happened to Mirai back there that made him end up like this?
He felt Mirai's hands grab his legs but he kicked them off violently. Mirai stayed back and looked at his hands. "Why? Hyung, why?" he asked. His voice was still shaky but he had calmed down a little. "Did I get the medicine for Sonyeo?" The mention of that name lit a fire in him. It was then he realized that Mirai was the cause of all this. If he had not made such a scene then Hyung would not have needed to go and fight, leaving Sonyeo alone. A thought floated through his mind
"He did this. He caused this. Are you still going to be with a person that made you lose so much?"
Hyung's face changed. Mirai looked at Hyung but his mind was unable to process anything. Hyung grabbed him by the neck and slammed him to the wall. Veins popped from Hyung's head and he tried to choke Mirai. Mirai just stayed there, unable to move, foaming at the mouth. He was becoming unconscious but he managed to utter a word
"Please"
Hyung stopped immediately. His grip loosened and Mirai fell to the ground, gasping for breath. Hyung looked at his hands that seemed to call for death. He took Mirai by his leg and dragged him outside. He threw him away. "DON'T EVER COME BACK!!!" he shouted. Mirai stood to his feet slowly. He looked at the one person he trusted in his world of devastation. Mirai looked ahead and saw that his world was truly of emptiness. He looked back and saw Hyung slowly disappear from his world. His bare feet tread the rocky ground; trudging forward, his tears not stopping him.
Hyung watched Mirai go away slowly. His emotions turned from anger to extreme sadness. His heart felt like it was being ripped apart. He felt like he was trash. He sat in the same corner Mirai had sat in before. "Why didn't he fight back?" he thought. He looked at the walls and the scratches looked like words. He stared intensely at them and saw what Mirai had written.
"I'M SORRY, HYUNG"
Tears dropped from his eyes. He liked being with Mirai. He liked talking with him. He was the first friend Hyung ever made. Now, he had used his hands to tear apart all he had. He had lost his friend and his younger brother on the same day. He curled like a ball to the wall. Tears dropped from his eyes.
"I hate myself"
