Raindrops splattered on the ground. The skies were dark and the streets were empty. Bright neon lights emanated from the signs outside the plethora of stores but no one was in them. The view pans out to a ramen shop and a man sat there. Mirai sat there. He slurped slowly on his noodles. The owner walks up to Mirai and asks from behind the counter "Is it good?" to which Mirai nods a yes. He finished his meal and let out a sigh of relief.
He looked outside to notice that no one was out. "Hey, is it like curfew?" he asked. The man answered "No. Why are you asking?" "There's no one outside tonight. What happened?" The owner goes back to his cooking without answering Mirai. That was strange. Mirai stood and walked into the kitchen, wanting an answer.
"HEY!" he said as he grabbed the man by the shoulder. The skin fell on his hands and blood spilled on the ground. His hands held the lifeless skin of a human. No bones dwelt within the husk. It was hollow and lifeless. How did it then live? There surely should be an answer. "AAAHHH!!!!" screamed Mirai as he jumped and threw the human skin to the ground. He ran out of the store into the busy streets.
He pushed and pressed his way through the seeming endless sea of bodies. He was unable to fight against the surge of humans. He was pushed left and right like a jellyfish; without any direction. He drowned slowly in the large waters. He could see drifting clouds wave at him. He smiled at the sight and his back touched the waters. He could feel his life live him. The thread that held Mirai to life was slowly ripping.
"BOOM!!!!" sounded a massive explosion. Dark light burst from the middle of the town. The light was as bright as a shining sun at midday and was as dark as the time the clock strikes twelve. A large mass of bodies could be seen flying off to different locations. The sky was free again and the sun shone brightly for all to see. The people of Midtown looked upward to see a floating being.
Its long black hair flowed with the wind. It lifted its hands in the air as it ascended upward. Its legs seemed to be one. It exuded a radiant aura that was extremely sinister. This was not an angelic being. It was a demon. A devil. Its eyes grew a dark red and black blood spewed from its lips. Horns broke out from its head. It looked at the people that tried to kill its host and descended its wrath on them.
Lightning rained from the heavens. It struck the people, turning them to nothingness. Their bodies were gruesomely cremated. However, they still went on with the one goal of killing the intruder. They climbed upon themselves like mindless zombies. Their rotting hands propelled them through themselves, each trying to reach the devilish supernatural that happened upon them. They didn't reach it. They couldn't reach it. The floating body was the last thing they saw before they were burnt to ashes.
Mirai sat by the ocean deck, completely drenched with water. He looked at the ever widening sea that preceded all human life. His mind was filled with thoughts on the brightness of the water's surface. A sound came from beside him. He looked and saw a man sit by him with a bucket and a fishing rod. The man threw his fishing rod into the waters. Mirai looked at the man again and saw he had no other fishing equipment. They sat for a long time in silence. The sun never went down because there was no sun.
"Hey kid" the man said to Mirai. He spoke without opening his mouth. Mirai did not find that strange. Rather, what he found strange was the man trying to start a conversation with him. "Yes?" he answered with apprehension. "What are you doing here?" the man asked. Mirai was left without words. He felt like he needs to do something urgently but he can't seem to remember what or who it was. He opened his mouth but he could not speak. His throat felt dry. A splash of water touched his skin. The man had caught a little fish. Mirai stared at the man who was putting the fish in his bucket and answered weakly
"I…I think I'm lost" "Are you sure?" "To a certain extent" The man swung his fishing pole into the waters again. "I believe your name is Mirai" "How did you know?" He smiled calmly "Kid, there's nothing in this universe that's not known to me". Mirai was intrigued by this man that sat beside him. "May I know your name?" Mirai asked. "Many call me Time. I believe I go by that name these days"
The name Time was mentioned. The world shook. The oceans raged and the mountains screamed. The world broke down. The water disappeared and so did the people. Everywhere turned a blank white. It appeared like nothing dwelt on this plane. Loud gasping could be heard as Mirai struggled on his knees for breath. His eyes bled and strength left his bones. It was like his soul rejected the name of Time. It felt like a thousand anvils had been pressed upon him.
The man stood and sighed. His appearance changed. Mirai struggled to look and saw a young lady stand above him. She wore long flowing robes that were reminscent to a flowing kimono dress. Her long hair flowed down her back. She looked at him with her sharp eyes. "I guess I could use this for now" said the lady in a small voice that commanded such obedience. Time looked at Mirai and chuckled to herself. Mirai shook in fear and with quivering lips, he asked "Am…..am….I….de…de…..dead…?"
Time saw that Mirai was extremely afraid and sat on the ground. She crossed her legs as she sat. "Mirai, do you know why you're here?" she asked. Mirai remained bowed and answered "No". "A prophet that lacks a purpose. I will permit you to raise your head" Mirai lifted his body. A mighty force slammed on him and he screamed in pain "AHHHHHH!!!!" Time's countenance changed and the air around her became sinister. She spoke with extreme anger
"I recall I didn't permit you to raise your body. Now, raise nothing but your head and leave your wretched body to the ground"
Mirai slowly lifted his head, groaning in pain. His eyes struggled to see the person before him. "Before I speak, I believe it is good we introduce ourselves" Time said and coughed a little
"I am Time. The creator of all things and the one that preceded the universe"
The plane responded to her words and large breaking points formed throughout the dimension. Her words had power; more power than you ever imagined.
