The other figure, a tall man with an imposing presence, brandished the great sword with a confident grip, ready to strike. The girl fired her arrow at the beast, but it seemed that the creature had already noticed the newcomers and was prepared for the next attack. With a swift movement, it deflected the arrow with a swipe of its massive claw.
Seizing the opportunity, the man tightened his grip on the great sword with his right hand. In an incredible display of strength and agility, he leaped to a height of ten meters—an impossible feat for any normal human. As he soared through the air, his silhouette momentarily eclipsed the moonlight. With a powerful thrust, he aimed the sword directly at the beast's head.
The blade glinted in the moonlight as it descended, a streak of silver cutting through the night. The beast roared in defiance, its eyes blazing with fury. The man's strike was precise and forceful, aiming to pierce through the creature's thick skull.
Unfortunately for the beast, against the man's godly strength and determination, it could do nothing as the blade pierced through its head, eventually killing it. "Phew, that was a close one," said the man as he steadily removed the blade from the beast's head.
"Hey! You, what's your name?" the man asked.
"Damian, sir," Damian answered, albeit still shaken with fear.
"Well, my name is Andrew, and although I have some questions for you , but unfortunately for us, things aren't in our favor."
"so we'll have to do that another time."
"Brother, they're coming," the girl said seemingly worried as she came closer to Andrew, but also giving Damian a deathly glare.
Immediately after that, beasts of different kinds started to appear from the shadows of the forest, all at different angles.
One creature had the body of a bear but was covered in thick, dark scales instead of fur. Its eyes glowed a sinister yellow, and its claws were as long as daggers. Another beast resembled a giant wolf, but with two heads, each snarling and snapping with razor-sharp teeth. Its fur was matted and dark, blending seamlessly with the shadows.
A third creature slithered out from the underbrush, its serpentine body covered in iridescent scales that shimmered in the moonlight. It had multiple heads, each one hissing and flicking forked tongues.
From above, a massive bird-like creature with leathery wings swooped down, its talons extended and ready to strike. Its feathers were a deep, blood-red, and its beak was sharp and hooked, perfect for tearing flesh.
The forest seemed to come alive with the sounds of these monstrous beings, each one more terrifying than the last. Damian's heart pounded in his chest as he took in the sight of the approaching horrors.
Andrew and the girl sprang into action. The girl, with her bow at the ready, fired arrows with precision, each one aimed at the vital points of the advancing beasts. Her arrows struck true, but the creatures were relentless, their thick hides and scales providing formidable defense.
Andrew, wielding his great sword, charged at the bear-like creature. With a powerful swing, he cleaved through its thick scales, drawing a roar of pain from the beast. He moved with incredible speed and strength, his blade a blur as he fought off the attackers.
"Damian, take cover !" Andrew shouted, his voice commanding and steady despite the chaos.
Damian, still trembling with fear, obeyed and took cover behind a large tree, watching the battle unfold with wide eyes.
The girl continued to unleash a barrage of arrows, each one finding its mark. She aimed for the eyes and joints of the creatures, exploiting any weakness she could find. One of her arrows struck the two-headed wolf in the eye, causing it to howl in agony and thrash about wildly.
Andrew took advantage of the wolf's distraction, lunging forward and delivering a powerful blow to its neck. The beast crumpled to the ground, its heads lolling lifelessly. But there was no time to celebrate; more creatures emerged from the shadows, their eyes glowing with malevolent intent.
A serpentine creature lunged at Andrew, its multiple heads snapping and hissing. He dodged its attack with a swift roll, coming up on one knee and slicing through one of its necks with a precise strike. The creature recoiled, hissing in pain, but continued its assault with undiminished ferocity.
The girl, seeing Andrew in danger, fired an arrow that struck the serpent in another head, momentarily stunning it. Andrew seized the opportunity, delivering a series of rapid slashes that severed the remaining heads. The serpent collapsed, its body writhing in its death throes.
But the respite was brief. From above, the bird-like creature with blood-red feathers swooped down, its talons aimed at the girl. She rolled to the side just in time, narrowly avoiding the deadly claws. She quickly nocked another arrow and fired at the creature's wing, causing it to screech and veer off course.
Andrew, seeing the bird momentarily grounded, charged at it with his great sword. With a powerful leap, he brought the blade down on the creature's back, cleaving through its spine. The bird let out a final, piercing cry before collapsing in a heap of feathers and blood.
The forest fell silent once more, the only sounds being the heavy breathing of the three survivors. Damian emerged from behind the tree, his eyes wide with a mix of awe and fear.
"Is it over?" he asked, his voice trembling.
"For now," Andrew replied, wiping the blood from his sword. "But we need to move. There could be more of them."
and then they were jinxed 🤣
As if jinxed by his words, more beasts emerged from the shadows of the forest, their eyes glowing with malevolent intent. The creatures attacked from all directions, forcing the trio to make a quick decision.
"Run!" Andrew shouted, taking the lead. He slashed through the beasts in front of them with his great sword, clearing a path. The girl, with her bow at the ready, fired arrows at the creatures chasing them, each shot precise and deadly. Damian, caught in the middle, ran as fast as he could, his heart pounding in his chest.
The forest was a blur of movement and sound. Andrew's sword flashed in the moonlight as he cut down any beast that dared to block their path. The girl's arrows whizzed past Damian, striking the creatures that pursued them. The air was filled with the roars and snarls of the beasts, the twang of the bowstring, and the heavy breathing of the three survivors.
Despite the chaos, they moved with a coordinated rhythm. Andrew's powerful strikes kept the path ahead clear, while the girl's arrows ensured they weren't overwhelmed from behind. Damian, though terrified, kept pace, trusting in his newfound companions to protect him.
The forest seemed endless, but they pressed on, driven by the instinct to survive. The beasts were relentless, but so were they. With every step, they fought off the encroaching darkness, determined to find safety and escape the forest
