Chereads / Be Mine Again, Dear Ex / Chapter 8 - The Fall 2

Chapter 8 - The Fall 2

"Can you see now Ahneeka that you have no place here anymore. I will soon become the company owner and when I do so, I will make sure your legs are not permitted to step anywhere near the land of the Hamilton's" Cassie vowed and for a while Ahneeka stood dead serious staring at her and imagining what it was she had done for her to be this way towards her. She wasn't even a threat to her goals.

Ahneeka Fallon had grown up accustomed to being told she was the foster daughter of the Hamilton's.

Her father, Fallon, whom she was told was her foster father's only brother had been said to be a womaniser and drunkard.

He had once impregnated one of the workers of the Hamilton mansion and because he was a pauper and died months after her birth due to his excessive drinking habits, Ahneeka had been adopted by her uncle, whose own wife was delivered of a baby girl four months after she was born.

Cassie had always had things easy but so could not be said for her.

Her foster mother always reminded her whom she was and where she came from. How she was nothing before her daughter and would never be a competition to her.

Ahneeka hadn't taken any of her words to mind. Not even when she sent Cassie off abroad yo study in the Ivy league Universities.

She stayed back in the country and made sure she graduated from the University she was enrolled in. She was beyond grateful to them for accepting her and was ready to do her all to repay them for their care towards her, both their father who saw her as one of his beloved children, and his wife who hated her guts.

Now Cassie was back to the country and behaving vile, just like her mother had always been towards her even though she held no ambitions of fighting for a company that was not hers.

"Aren't you going to leave yet? What other confirmation are you still waiting for?" Cassie's mocking voice came again.

Ahneeka didn't know what she heard from the murmurs behind her but she sure she had heard someone giggle, if not half of the ladies behind her.

She turned to leave, not ready to keep on facing the disrespect and embarrassment her own sister was causing her.

"The time is 3pm. The time is 3pm" He alarm began to announce as she stepped into her car igniting the engines to drive off.

She had approximately 3 minutes to reach home and an additional 1 to make the rat race into the living room of the house as this had been the order.

Her father, Me Jameson Hamilton was a man of his words and never has she known him to flinch after giving out orders.

As always, he always means them to be followed and they did follow because of how rash he was in his judgement.

Thus, Ahneeka began to drive off as fast as she could, hoping to beat the traffic before the timer she had set begins to beep.

-------------------------

"Are we taking him back to his slum House Davii?"

" Slum what? Hell no!! The chairman would have all of us skinned alive for that. Even if he slips away from our hands without us knowing, we'd have tp find him unless we do not want to see the light of another day"

The man that asked the question chuckled and then a second man joined him as they stared at Micheal who laid motionlessly on a chair of the limo, eyes closed and unconscious due to the chloroform they had used to knock him out.

" We all know how stubborn he is and how hard he is for the chairman to control. Now coupled with Veronica's betrayal, I cannot imagine what else he might do to harm others or himself. The chairman is simply trying to prevent that from happening and to secure his empire and make him a worthy heir before his journey to the great beyond" Davii explained and it did appear as if the two men had understood what he meant.

They stopped laughing but did well in perfectly hiding the feelings of envy in their eyes.

"Tell the driver to move faster. The chairman is waiting and we can't keep him waiting any more" Davii added and a man passed his information to the limo driver who then increased the speed with which he rode with.

Ahneeka was almost home. Things had gone in her favor and there wasn't a traffic jam like she thought there would while she was coming.

She was grateful, atleast the universe still seemed to serve her.

Suddenly she saw a speeding vehicle approaching her.

It was speeding very fast and this took her a while before she realized it was a limo.

Before she could reeve off the path it was driving through, they crashed into each.

Her car rolled off the main road to the side.

She thought the owners of the limo were going to stop t confront her as the issue had partly been her fault, but it didn't even stop after getting hit.

Had her wondering if the driver nor owner of the limo noticed.

She ignited the engine of her car again and found out her right arm was bleeding profusely.

She had used it to shield her head fr on hitting the steering wheels of her car, but she didn't have the time to spare treating it or going to a clinic to have it treated, so she just cleaned the blood off using her clothe and the hoping for it to stop flowing.

It didn't reach more than two minutes when she arrived at the Hamilton mansion.

As Ahneeka stepped out of the car, she winced in pain from her injured arm. The blood had slowed to a trickle but she knew she needed to tend to it soon.

She took a deep breath and rushed to the mansion's entrance.

"Ahneeka, you're late" one of the matured house minders chastised, eying her disheveled state.

Ahneeka hid her arm behind her and only managed to smile at the elderly woman.

She didn't want her noticing as it would cause her great worry.

"Your father is waiting" the elderly woman said after a few minutes noticing she didn't want her to know about her wounds.

Ahneeka ran into the living room and paused when she saw her father, walking slowly towards him.

"6 minute's. You are six minutes late" he said coldly and Ahneeka paused at where she was.

He stood up from his chair and took a few steps closer to her.

The next Ahneeka heard was a slap landing on her face.

The next she saw were stars that seemed to appear from nowhere and show a paradise she didn't know existed.
