Back at the limo, Micheal woke up and was surprised to find himself in a moving vehicle with some of his grandfather's men.
"Davii, what did you do? Where are you taking me to?" He got up and asked abruptly.
The driver turned the car and this diversion caused him to fall.
" Welcome back home, Young Master"
His secretary said and bowed and Micheal sat still confused with his frigid mind.
It took the men getting down the limo for him to realize where they had come.
"Come down Young Master. The Chairman is waiting for you" Davii pleaded on seeing how adamant he was on not stepping down from the limo.
A few more minutes passed and he was still in.
"Take his name out of the family registry" a voice too familiar to Micheal said and he immediately stepped down.
The elderly man who had said so began to smile at him.
" Welcome back home, son of man" he said with a smile plastered all over his face and extended his hands out for a hug but Micheal only gave one of his hand out and shook his.
The Chairman swallowed. Having his son return was a better thing. He didn't mind his anger towards him.
" You promised to leave me the freedom to do whatever I wanted with my time for five years. I haven't even committed any mistakes living life as an underprivileged yet, why did you have to kidnap me and bring me back" he questioned, pointing at the enormous mansion before them that they were about to step into.
" You are a promised child Charles. The only heir of the Wade family. I couldn't bear to leave you gone for that long"
"But you promised grandfather! You promised not to disturb until the five years period of our bargain was over!" Micheal's voice was laced with desperation and a tint of anger in them.
"I was going to leave you to return on your own but after what happened, I just couldn't. She already wasted 3 and a half year of your loaned time, what more can you be able to do in the remaining one and a half?"
Micheal paused.
" You were spying on me the entire time?" He asked and the words came out more like an exclamation than it was a question.
" You are Charles Wade. My only heir" his grandfather repeated and this was enough to shut Micheal up, afterall he was saying the truth.
Veronica had truly wasted 3 and a half years of his time he had had to be free. He could have used that time to enjoy the normal life of people he wasn't allowed to live as an heir of a conglomerate. He could have.
"I have a year and half left. I'm sure you'd let me go back and continue living as Micheal Emmanuel because there is no way the board of directors would let me take over the CEO position of the company without me being married"
" Oh, that is already resolved. That was also why I had you brought back"
Micheal paused making only his grandfather keep on walking into the mansion while he watched him, surprised at what he had said.
His grandfather noticed and stopped and turned to face him, their men meters behind Charles.
" Your aunt Jessica has found a wife for you but if you're not satisfied with her, I have another one I have commanded my men to find for you. I'm sure she would be your favorite" he said and giggled while waiting for Micheal to walk up to him again so they would walk into the house side by side.
He handed him a tablet as he walked close to him and Micheal took it to see the lady his grandfather was all about the place saying he would admire. He knew much how he detested women.
"Where did you find this?" His apprehensive voice came immediately after he viewed the contents of the tablet his grandfather has handed to him.
His grandfather chuckled.
" You don't need to be shy about it, Charles. I have no issues with the video and that is why I have sent men all over the nooks of the city to find the woman. I am grateful to the heavens. Sometimes I used to think you had an underlying health issue because of the way you always behaved around women. But now it just took one woman to find out it wasn't real"
" She said she was only going to show their father. Where did you get this from, grandfather?" Charles voice cut through his grandfather's.
" You didn't know?"
"Know what?" Charles retorted.
" It's all over the place and the internet. I thought you were the one that released it. Did she threaten you with it? Was that why you released it yourself?"
" Grandfather!!!!" Michael shouted.
He turned and took a glance at Davii who was standing behind him and their eyes met.
"I didn't know when it got released but I will see to it that it is deleted from across the internet" Davii said immediately knowing well he would be blamed for what happened because he had knocked him out with chloroform before, when he could have known what was happening and could have bribed media houses to cover it as it had potentials of being an implosive scandal.
He picked the tablet again to watch.
The room has been dark and only the moving bedsheets had been evident but where the problem laid was in the morning when the woman's face had been captured entirely as she sat at the side of the recorder.
His wasn't that obvious as her face had blocked most of his view but hers had been, it took someone close to him to identify he was the one with the blurry face behind her, someone like his grandfather.
"Ahneeka Fallon, find out how she is doing and whom she is and everything about her" he commanded Davii.
He paused for a while, surprised he was the one giving out such orders on account of a girl he had just met and shared a drunken night stand with the other day. Even his grandfather paused and was staring at him too.
It was unlike him. They hadn't known how he behaved around Veronica because then he had been living in the slums to protect the new identity he had been faking.
This was is first time having an interest in a woman and being in his family home. It was surprising to behold because everyone knew him.
Caring for women was not his thing. He was misogynistic towards most of them and they all knew why. Chivalry was so not him.
