Micheal let Ahneeka's hand go immediately he heard himself being called.
He didn't want his caller to figure out for if he did,it meant his father finding out too.
"Young master" the man called again as he rushed to where Micheal was standing.
"I have been looking for you all over the city of San Francisco. You didn't even answer any of my calls. It took me the entire night to track you down to this hotel sir." He continued.
"By the way,who is this pretty woman with you...." He wanted to add but the words hanged in the air when he turned to look at Ahneeka and discovered she had slipped away.
Micheal stood downcast haven been unable to stop her from slipping out. He had not known when she did either.
"What do you want?" Micheal shot at him, letting all hell lose as Ahneeka had gone and there was no one else for him to maintain his composure in front of.
"Your grandfather sends for you"
"Tell him that I am not ready to come home yet, Daviii. Didn't I mention that I would do so when I have found what he sent me way to search for?"
"That is the sole reason he is asking for your return sir"
"Tell him I haven't succeeded yet. When I do, I will return on my own accord"
"He knows you didn't, Young Master, and because he has found a solution, he is asking you to return home"
Micheal paused. He found out he didn't succeed and found a solution for him as well?
He raised his eyes and Davii, his secretary darted his away from his gaze.
"The chairman found out about you and Veronica"
"The chairman already knows about Veronica and I. What else is there for him to find out about us?..... That is simply..." And the words stopped coming.
His eyes bulged at him.
"Yes sir. He had private spies watch over you the entire time you worked as a delivery boy"
Micheal's surprise was evident in his face.
"He promised to lease me that freedom but he couldn't even keep his words?!!"
"The chairman loves his only grandson so much to let him be without protection. That is why he did what he did"
Micheal opened the door the the hotel room meaning to enter but Davii walked in front of him to stop him.
"We need that go, Young Master. The chairman misses his grandson so much. He is awaiting your return"
"Leave the way now, Daviii!!!" He commanded but the later did not budge an inch.
"The chairman already gave an order sir" Be insisted.
Micheal wanted to continue speaking but a man appeared from his back and covered his nose with a handkerchief after which he fell unconscious.
********************
Ahneeka sat in her car in front of the hotel room, the events of the previous day replaying in her mind like a scene of a movie.
She couldn't decide what emotion to give in to.
The feelings of Betrayal, hatred and jealousy that filled her heart and wanted to consume her very existence or the embarassment of having a drunken one night stand with a stranger.
It felt as if she had become even with her cheating husband and it was all her fault.
If only she hadn't gone to the hotel to shield from the rain, Cassie's plan wouldn't have worked. But she failed woefully, not just at keeping her one week marriage but now also her dignity.
Thoughts of the rude man crossed her mind.
Micheal Emmanuel he had said it was.
She felt her stomach rumbling out of her belly in embarassment.
Igniting the engine of her car, she planned to drive away from the hotel before he would throw a search party for her and find her out.
She didn't want anything to do with him. The deed had been doje and gone, she didn't want to recall the night now. She wanted it to be what it was,an honest mistake they'd both rather forget.
Few minutes after she left the hotel premises, two men carried Micheal out with them and placed him inside a limo sine already waiting in front for them.
None of the security tried stopping them, instead, they made way for them to pass.

"What are you doing here?" Cassie's eyes didn't leave Ahneeka's as she stood in front of her way as she wanted walking into the office.
"Excuse you?" Ahneeka replied, mustering up enough courage to do so before all the employees that stopped to stare at them and the scene about to unfold.
"Didn't you get the message from HR?" Cassie shot, her tone sarcastic and filled with happiness as if she had was j a lottery.
Ahneeka kept silent and watched her smile in glee, confused.
Her phone had buzzed severally while she was on her way to the office but she hadn't been in the mood to answer the calls nor check the messages that seemed not to stop.
Her thought train was that Stanley had announced their divorce and Cassie had probably showed their father the little recording she had her men do the other night for her and she hadn't been daring enough to answer any.
She didn't trust her emotions enough to lead her through a call without her breaking down and she wasn't ready to be blamed either, so the workplace appeared to be her only hiding place from the turmoil that was to befall her.
Unbeknownst to her that her sister, Cassie would be at work that day.
"Let me break it down for my elder sister here who doesn't seem to understand. Ahneeka Fallon, you have been sacked from the Hamilton Companies. Is it clear enough then?". Cassie said and began to laugh hysterically.
Ahneeka didn't get why. She hadn't done anything wrong, inshort she had been named the company's best employee for the fifth time now because of how diligent and committed she was to her duty, even though she were a family of the owners, she didn't let that get to her head.
There was no way she would be laid off now without any cause.
"Did you watch the news? I'm so disappointed she did that. I always saw her as if she were a saint. She always acted like one and without faults. Who could have believed she was a devil?"
Ahneeka couldn't excuse the murmuring she heard from the other workers behind her.
They were quiet and had gossiped amongst themselves behind her but she was good at eavesdropping and had picked up what was being said.
"What about her made her a pretender?" She thought within herself.
For what reason had she been sacked? She thought further.
Surely there was a reason she didn't know of. Or had Cassie also set her up at the office as well?
The thought crossed her mind and she raised her head to look at Cassie who had a victorious smug on her face.
Her phone buzzed again and she brought it out of her bag.
A new message had arrived.
She read it's heading from the notification bar. It had come from HR.
She was been laid off from work, so the title read.
She shifted her finger to click on it so as to read it's entire content's but a new message that came in made her pause.
"Meet me now, Ahneeka!! Meet me in the next five minutes or consider yourself disowned!!"
She shivered at her feet.
The message came from her father.
Had he already made up his mind to abandon her if she didn't show up in the five minutes he had demanded?
