I woke up to silence. That was the first thing I noticed., an almost deafening stillness, so unnatural that it sent a chill through my body. My head throbbed faintly, and the sterile white ceiling above me came into focus. I blinked, trying to piece together where I was and how I'd gotten here.
"Am I having an hangover? Did I drink?" I thought to myself while I tried to figure out why my head banged like it was being hit with a big club.
The bed I was lying on was the only thing in the room, large, plush, and impeccably made. The room itself was sleek and modern, the kind of minimalism I'd expect in a high-end luxury space, yet it felt...wrong.
