Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Underwater Murder

Once everyone was dressed and had put on their breathing equipment, Zach, standing behind Logan, suddenly tugged at him, his eyes behind the diving mask blinking rapidly at Logan.

Logan laughed, "Why are you blinking so much? Did sand get in your eyes?"

It seemed that Zach wasn't entirely foolish; he had noticed something was off.

Setting aside Simon Clark's identity as a top-tier rich second generation, if a stranger suddenly invites you out to play, brings eight strong men along, and takes you to a deserted place, it's inherently dangerous.

At first, Zach was too focused on trying to latch onto Simon Clark and didn't sense anything wrong. Or perhaps, when ordinary people encounter someone especially powerful or influential, they instinctively trust and respect them, ignoring many details.

But Logan had no intention of exposing anything.

Hearing Logan's comment, Hodor gave Zach a scrutinizing look.

Zach cursed silently in his heart but forced a smile and said, "My eyes just felt a bit uncomfortable. It's nothing."

The four of them checked their equipment, and Hodor explained a few underwater hand signals and precautions to Logan and Zach.

Then, Hodor was the first to enter the water.

After Logan went in, Zach glanced at the menacing bodyguards behind him and reluctantly followed into the water.

Zach was filled with anxiety but tried to reassure himself that things might not be as bad as they seemed.

The underwater world was beautiful, and Logan swam at the front, taking in the sights. If it weren't for the constant, subtle sense of being watched and the underlying killing intent, it would have been a pleasant trip.

As they swam near a coral reef, Simon Clark signaled to Hodor to take action.

Seeing the signal, Hodor nodded, drew a knife from his thigh, and swam toward Logan.

As Hodor got closer to Logan, Simon Clark's eyes behind the diving mask were filled with crazed excitement.

Since it was Zach's first time diving, he swam at the back of the group and was terrified when he saw what was happening! He wanted to warn Logan, but as soon as he opened his mouth, his breathing regulator nearly fell out, so he quickly shut his mouth.

Hodor had already reached Logan and raised the gleaming knife. Zach was so scared that his legs went limp.

Zach quickly turned to look at Simon Clark and saw that he was actually excited.

It's over!

Zach was in despair. They were going to kill someone!

Realizing that this was a murder plot, Zach immediately turned and swam toward the surface.

As for Logan, Zach had already assumed he was doomed.

There was no way Logan could match a bodyguard in strength. He had to escape now before it was too late!

Zach tried to ascend, but in his panic during his first dive, he forgot to release the weights on his body and floundered in place.

...

Logan felt an unusual current behind him. Without thinking, he immediately turned around.

A gleaming knife slashed past his side!

Hodor hadn't expected Logan to dodge, and with a flick of his fins, he slashed again!

This time, Logan saw clearly—it was aimed at his breathing regulator.

Sure enough, even in the peaceful Xia Country, these people weren't reckless killers. They wanted to make him suffocate and create the illusion of an accidental death.

With the water's resistance limiting his movements, Logan had nowhere to dodge. He reached out and grabbed Hodor's hand holding the knife, preventing the regulator from being slashed.

Hodor used his other hand to grab at Logan's breathing regulator, but Logan caught that hand too.

The two began to grapple underwater.

Hodor's face was filled with ferocity and a hint of shock. He struggled with all his might to free his hands, but it was like they were caught in a vise—he couldn't budge!

How is this kid so strong?

Logan raised his foot and kicked Hodor hard in the chest, pushing himself back over a meter.

Just as Hodor was about to lunge forward again, Logan reached behind his back and, when his hand came forward again, it was holding a gun!!

Hodor's body froze mid-lunge, his eyes wide with disbelief and fear:

When did this kid hide a gun?! Impossible! He had searched Logan and confirmed he had nothing on him!

And when they changed into the diving suits, there was no way to hide a gun in front of everyone! This is impossible!

Hodor even thought he might be hallucinating underwater. Because, compared to hallucinating, the sight of Logan holding a gun felt even more surreal.

But the burst of blood from his chest brought Hodor back to reality.

In water, the bullet's speed is 772 times slower than on land. But similarly, people's movements also become sluggish. At this distance, even a battle-hardened Hodor couldn't dodge.

Three consecutive shots hit vital points.

Hodor died still unable to figure out how Logan had brought the gun underwater.

Zach couldn't believe what he was seeing. He felt that today's events were utterly surreal.

How could Logan have a gun?!

That calm, decisive Logan who could use a gun—was he really the same Logan he knew?

Just as Zach thought Logan was doomed, the situation took a sudden turn.

Surprisingly, the fastest to react was Simon Clark.

The moment Logan pulled out the gun, Simon Clark swiftly swam toward the floundering Zach.

As Logan aimed the gun at him, Simon Clark had already reached Zach and grabbed him, using the terrified Zach as a human shield!

At the same time, he pressed the deflation button on Zach's diving suit.

Zach was scared out of his wits, shaking his head frantically as he ascended, staring at the barrel of Logan's gun.

A handgun's underwater range wouldn't exceed 1.5 meters.

As the distance widened, Logan's eyes turned cold, and he fired without hesitation.

The bullet cut through the water, but with too many disturbances underwater, what was aimed at Simon Clark's head hit Zach's neck instead.

Zach's eyes behind the diving mask widened in terror, and his breathing regulator fell out as blood gushed from his mouth, nose, and neck.

Logan was about to fire a second shot.

At that moment, a shoal of fish swam between them.

By the time the fish passed and visibility returned, the distance between him and Simon Clark had increased to over 2 meters.

Logan fired another shot, but the bullet lost momentum halfway and dropped.

Seeing that Logan's gun was no longer a threat, Simon Clark released the now lifeless Zach and swam toward the surface even faster.

Logan!!

Simon Clark's eyes were filled with murderous rage as he glared venomously at Logan. As he ascended, he made a throat-slitting gesture at Logan.

No one had ever made him this humiliated before.

He swore he would kill Logan!!

Simon Clark got closer to the surface, increasing the distance between them to three meters.

Logan's eyes deepened as he turned the air valve in his diving apparatus to the maximum, released his weights, and ascended faster than Simon Clark.

Rapidly appoaching!
