Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Solar Flare Eruption!

On the morning of June 1st, Logan followed his usual routine, practicing the "Health Preservation Technique" on the open ground outside the shelter.

Zach had invited him to go diving that day, but Logan declined, citing other matters.

He wanted to stay in the shelter to observe how the sun would behave differently during the solar flare eruption.

After the solar flare erupted today, the intense solar storm wouldn't reach the Earth until June 4th.

Therefore, until the 4th, the Earth was temporarily safe.

The strange thing about this solar flare eruption was that no country had detected any anomalies.

With the Earth's current level of technology, such a situation was extremely bizarre.

At this moment, Logan was wearing a pair of sunglasses. Although his body was moving continuously, his eyes never left the sun in the sky.

Such a posture was undoubtedly somewhat comical.

A few villagers from the mountain saw this scene from afar and began to discuss it.

"What is that young man doing? Performing some ritual?"

"He looks pretty strange."

"Look at that thing he built; it doesn't seem normal at all."

"Do we still want money?"

"Yes! Definitely! What are we afraid of? We'll go ask for it tomorrow. I'll talk to Uncle Li about how to proceed this time."

...

After completing five sets of the "Health Preservation Technique," Logan began the sixth set when his movements suddenly halted.

The sun he had been staring at intently hadn't shown any changes. The reason for stopping his movements was that the interface of the Cornucopia hadn't undergone any significant changes after the upgrade; instead, it had turned into a bunch of garbled characters!

What was going on?

Logan, shocked, immediately stopped his cultivation and observed the Cornucopia.

He discovered that not only had the Cornucopia interface turned into gibberish, but the space could no longer be sensed!

Logan's pupils constricted rapidly; this shock was no small matter!

All the supplies he had stockpiled in the space over the past three months were stored there. If the space suddenly lost its functionality, his advantage from being reborn would be greatly diminished.

At this moment, Logan suddenly realized that he had become too dependent on the space.

In less than a minute, the gibberish before his eyes formed a string of Chinese characters.

[Earth Apocalypse Reset Third Activation. This process will accelerate the evolution of species. Detected that the "Cornucopia" has recognized intelligent beings as the main focus. Initiating Host Protection Plan]

Logan's pupils dilated in disbelief!

This passage contained an immense amount of information!

Apocalypse Reset?!

Third time?

He had experienced the apocalypse in his previous life, reborn before the apocalypse, and was about to experience it again. Does this count as two times?

So why did the Cornucopia indicate this was the third time?

Could it be that before his rebirth, the apocalypse had already been reset once in his previous life?

He didn't have time to ponder the meaning of the subsequent words; the interface in front of him reassembled into another message.

[The first wave of pandemic will descend in 71 hours. Please prepare.]

Logan's heart pounded like a drum!

Is this a warning?!

Is the Cornucopia intelligent?!

After about ten seconds, the text disappeared, and the Cornucopia interface returned to normal.

The space was once again sensed by Logan.

However, the countdown number in the top right corner—71 hours and 43 minutes—let Logan know that what he had just seen wasn't an illusion.

Logan turned around and went back into the shelter, made himself a cup of coffee, took a few sips to calm himself down.

In his mind, he recalled the anomaly that appeared before the Cornucopia interface.

He speculated that this anomaly was very likely related to the so-called "SSS-class Solar Flare Eruption."

The solar flare eruption marked the beginning of this apocalypse, and the previous message from the Cornucopia:

[The Earth Apocalypse Reset Third Activation. This process will accelerate the evolution of species. Detected that the "Cornucopia" has recognized intelligent beings as the main focus. Initiating Host Protection Plan]

also declared that the apocalypse had begun.

Logan was particularly concerned about the number three.

Upon careful consideration, apart from himself, perhaps no one else in the world knew that he would be experiencing the apocalypse once again.

The matter of being reborn still seemed very bizarre to Logan.

He had died, but he was reborn eight years ago.

All humans, the entire Earth, had returned to their state eight years prior.

Was this time reversal?

Or a system reset?

In human understanding, time couldn't flow backward unless viewed from a theological perspective.

Mandela Effect?

Divine intervention?

A game played by a higher civilization?

Or a correction of natural laws themselves?

And such things had already been reset three times.

Before he obtained the Cornucopia, time had also flowed backward, and humanity had experienced apocalypse disasters that would occur just days later?

And during the first apocalypse reset, he, like billions of other humans and countless living beings, knew nothing about it?

Why were there three resets?

Was it because the life forms on Earth had all become extinct in the previous two resets?

This hypothesis was too shocking and terrifying.

What exactly was the Cornucopia?

Why did it display such information?

No wonder they said knowing too much wasn't a good thing.

The more Logan thought about it, the more questions he had. His breathing became rapid, his head buzzed, almost about to explode.

His heartbeat was extremely fast; he couldn't calm down at all.

He was scared.

Thinking like this made Logan start to doubt whether the universe, as understood by humans, was being manipulated by some higher civilization.

They were like other people's lab mice, being experimented on repeatedly.

Logan closed his eyes and hummed a tune to divert his attention.

After finishing a song, he finally pushed those bizarre thoughts out of his mind.

He took out his computer and began searching for information about the Ice Age.

The Earth had experienced several ice ages in the past.

Before the arrival of this extreme cold apocalypse, human ancestors had gone through a long ice age lasting over two million years.

It ended just over ten thousand years ago.

This period was also known as the Quaternary Ice Age.

Regarding whether humans participated in the first three ice ages and the specific circumstances, Logan only skimmed through the information.

Speaking of the Quaternary Ice Age alone, it nearly wiped out all animals intolerant to cold.

Most of the survivors living in the icy and snowy lands were long-haired animals.

But humans survived.

Scientists speculated that humans could survive due to their strong creativity and adaptability.

However, Logan felt that this explanation wasn't entirely convincing.

Those who hadn't experienced extreme cold couldn't imagine its horrors.

In the eighth year of the apocalypse, out of the world's 7.8 billion humans, fewer than a million remained.

This demonstrated the apocalypse's terror.

Two and a half million years ago, there were no technological items, and resources were extremely scarce.

Lacking plants and medicines, countless large carnivorous mammals like saber-toothed tigers, short-faced bears, vicious lions, and terror wolves roamed this period.

They were gigantic, fierce, and carnivorous.

With a normal human's size and speed, one could only become prey for these large carnivorous animals. Even if one could survive in extreme cold, it would be difficult to stay alive.

More bizarrely, after the Ice Age ended, all these ferocious large creatures extinct.

Yet, humans continue to thrive to this day.

This was hard to explain solely with adaptability and creativity.

But if higher civilizations had participated and helped, everything would have made much more sense.
