Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Reversal

With a crack and a scream,

"Ahh!!"

The thin man's hand was dislocated.

Although his face turned pale from the pain, the thin man was a tough character. Ignoring his already-captured right hand, he swung his left fist at Logan while spewing profanities:

"You bastard, you're dead!! I'll f*** you up..."

Logan easily caught the punch.

To him, this punch was weak and feeble. The thin man before him might have had some guts, but that was it.

Crack!

Logan twisted the man's left hand as well and then kicked him away.

Without his arms to support him, the thin man fell flat on his face, smashing his teeth and causing them to bleed.

Lying on the ground, the thin man shouted:

"Are you all blind?! Kill him for me!!"

Everything had happened so quickly that the men who had come with the thin man, still holding boxes, finally dropped what they were carrying and rushed at Logan!

However, they were no match for Logan, who had survived countless real combat situations.

Logan kicked one man flying, caught two incoming punches, and yanked hard.

The two men immediately stumbled, losing their balance. Logan grabbed them by the necks and slammed their heads together, silencing their screams instantly.

As Logan let go, the two men collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

He effortlessly sidestepped a punch aimed at him from the side and countered with an elbow strike, causing the attacker to curl up on the ground like a shrimp.

With just a few simple moves, not even enough to break a sweat, four men were already lying on the ground.

Logan had gone easy on them, not wanting to escalate the situation. If this were the apocalypse, these men would be dead.

The thin man, who had just managed to get up, saw this scene and realized he had hit a brick wall this time.

He had thought he was just dealing with a college student and that it would be an easy job. He was happy to take the money.

But he hadn't expected to run into such a tough opponent!

The last man standing saw the dangerous glint in Logan's eyes and took a few steps back in fear.

He didn't dare to advance and instead turned around, fleeing into the rain.

Logan didn't pursue him. He walked over to the thin man, who was now sitting up:

"Who sent you? Did you start the fire in my warehouse?"

Logan already had his suspicions but wanted confirmation.

However, even in this situation, the thin man remained defiant and threatened:

"If you've got the guts, kill me! Otherwise, I'll make sure you die!!"

A flash of murderous intent passed through Logan's eyes.

He turned to the warehouse guard, who was standing behind him, stunned and at a loss, and said, "Call the police."

The rules of the peaceful era had saved these scumbags.

The warehouse guard snapped out of it, shakily pulling out his phone to call the police, all while looking at Logan with a mix of awe and fear.

Soon, the police arrived at the warehouse, along with an ambulance.

As soon as the officers arrived, the thin man immediately turned the tables:

"Officer, this guy broke into my warehouse and attacked us for no reason! Both my hands have been dislocated by him!"

"Who called the police?"

Logan raised his hand. "I did."

"Tell us what happened."

The officer took out a recording device.

Logan explained how these men had barged into his warehouse, thrown out his goods, and started the fight.

There were still a few boxes of goods lying in the rain at the warehouse entrance.

The warehouse guard confirmed Logan's account.

Logan hadn't used excessive force; apart from some minor injuries and slight concussions, the men were mostly fine and quickly regained their composure.

The thin man's dislocated hands were also set back in place by the paramedics.

Logan pretended to pull something out of his backpack but actually took out a copy of the lease agreement:

"This is my contract for renting this warehouse."

The officer glanced at it and confirmed that the contract was valid.

The situation was becoming clear.

One of the officers said, "Take these men back to the station."

"Wait!"

Even at this point, the thin man remained unflustered. He pulled out his phone and made a call.

The phone rang from outside the warehouse.

A middle-aged man and a young man walked into the warehouse.

Logan narrowed his eyes slightly; he recognized one of the newcomers.

Jerry Li.

Jerry Li saw Logan and smirked smugly.

The middle-aged man, who appeared to be Jerry Li's father, pulled one of the officers aside.

He said a few words and then made a phone call, holding the phone to the officer's ear.

Logan frowned as he watched this unfold.

At that moment, Logan's phone rang. It was the landlord:

"Logan, your workers nearly burned down my warehouse. I'm not renting it to you anymore. I'll refund your remaining rent and deposit—please move out as soon as possible!"

Logan furrowed his brow and replied:

"There's no such clause in the contract. Besides, the cause of the fire hasn't been investigated yet."

The landlord's voice was anxious and a bit desperate:

"Don't bother investigating—it's all your fault! Please just move out. I'm begging you. I'll refund the entire month's rent."

With that, the landlord hung up.

And shortly after, Logan received a full refund of $60,000.

It seemed that the warehouse really was no longer available.

Now that Logan had almost finished stockpiling his supplies, moving out wasn't a big deal for him.

But being forced out like this was infuriating!

Jerry Li walked up to Logan, sneering as he whispered in a voice only the two of them could hear:

"This is what you get for crossing me. The fun's just beginning—I'll make sure you can't survive in Harbor City!"

Logan raised an eyebrow and looked at Jerry Li with a surprised expression. Then he loudly said:

"What did you say? You're not your dad's biological son?!"

His voice was loud enough to draw the attention of everyone around.

They all stared at Jerry Li in shock.

Jerry Li's face turned beet red as he hastily explained:

"I didn't say that! He's lying!"

Jerry Li glared at Logan with murderous intent in his eyes, as if he wanted to kill him with a single glance.

Soon, the officer who had been pulled aside by Jerry Li's father returned. He pointed at Logan and said:

"Take him back to the station!"

"Wait!"

Logan frowned, not too surprised by what was happening.

From the thin man's initial arrogance to everything that had happened since, Logan had already guessed that these people had something backing them.

But he wasn't one to be easily bullied.

"May I ask why I'm being taken in?"

The officer's expression was stern:

"You're suspected of arson and intentional assault. You must come with us to the station for investigation."

Jerry Li looked at Logan with a smug expression, as if to say:

This is what happens when you mess with me! Once you're at the station, you're finished!

Logan remained calm, continuing to argue his case:

"I've already explained that they attacked first."

"That's just your word. It's not evidence."

A hint of mockery flashed across Logan's face.

"But that's not what you said earlier."

The officer's eyes flickered with anger.

"They have more witnesses than you. We have the right to investigate further. Now, come with us!"

"But I have evidence."

Logan grinned, his eyes cold as he picked up his phone.

"When I moved in, I installed several cameras in the warehouse. Everything you just said in the corner should have been recorded!"
