"Minnie, where are your leather gloves?" I growled, as I was checking everything with the girls for us to go. "I told you, you have to take them and use them all the time," I hissed stressed and she flinched. "Faes can make induce you to feel things you shouldn't through physical touch. You can't let them touch your skin, didn't I warn you?"
My baby sister gulped, "I thought... I... Khan said you were just creating that up and that we could touch them, because touching is in our nature and,"
"Arkhan has never been in the surface, he has never met a fae, at total, I've lived 10 years between them," I yelled. "That bastard isn't in the operation, he isn't the one taking care of this, I am. You have to obey me, fuck whatever that fucking piece of shit say, how could you regard his words higher than mine? Can you see I'm trying to do everything so you won't suffer in there?"
"Like you did?" Arkhan asked, popping out of the shadows he was hiding and I clenched my jaw, glaring at him, hating this, hating what going to the Fae Kingdom of Nyx is making me feel. "Is that what happened to you? What changed you? A fae touched you and forced emotions on you that weren't your?"
"What in the Tartarus are you doing here, Arkhan?" I ignored what he said, not wanting to talk to him or anyone else about this. "I told you to stay and start taking care of my duties while I'm away, if you intend on ever becoming the future,"
"I'm the 10th going in," he said before I could finish and I froze, because that was not in the plans, and Arkhan is not supposed to be going with us. As he stepped closer, I saw the bag on his backpack, and when he took his hands out of his pockets, they were gloved and holding four pairs of smaller leather gloves, bright yellow ones, Minnie's, which he handed her. "Here, Minnie, yours."
She blushed, embarrassed from listening to him, "Thanks, Khan."
But I kept glaring at him, "What do you mean you're the 10th going with us? What the hell are you going there for? Nobody told me anything. This is going out of our plan, and,"
"I'm not letting Kara go there where a bunch of males are going to throw themselves at her, Lia," he exclaimed, going to Kara and surrounding her waist with his arm. "Besides, you and me are engaged, and I gotta keep my face, and my eyes on you. Dad told me to watch you and see what the hell made you change so much, and mom told me to help you on the plan and collaborate with you, because with me in, we can cover one more target."
I feel sick, "They sent you to spy on me?" I hissed.
He swallowed, "Dad did, when I asked to come with you too. You can't leave me here when you will all have the fun there, that's not fair. And," he kissed Kara's blushing cheek, "I can't let any male close to Kara. So, when you set her target, put a girl, and a guy for me, we like both either way, I just can't let her be with a guy, and neither do I want a girl other than her."
"You should tell our parents that," I hissed. "Maybe they would fall to their senses and cancel this madness of an engagement. Which will not happen until I stay alive," then I checked Rose's things, making sure it was everything okay. "If you intend on being all touchy with Kara Chlóe there, you better go in as someone else and not a Valentine. Incest this close is frowned upon up there."
"My name will be Alesso Harlan C. Vaughan," he chanted.
I glared at him, "Alesso? Really? You picked Alesso just because I picked Alyssa, you bastard? And the H middle name? You mimicked me. I'm going as Alyssa Helaena C. Valentine, you picked all of my initials!"
"We have the same initials in here," he scoffed. "ATC, now AHCV. I don't see what the problem is. It's not like I'm going as your brother like here."
"It is suspicious and ridiculous. Pick another."
"I can't, already got my fake documents in it," he purred.
Clenching my jaw, I took a deep breath, I glared at him, "You look more like the girls brother than I do, what will you say about that, smartass?"
"Uh..." he sucked on his cheeks. "I'm your very distant cousin."
"You are lucky we are running out of time," I cursed. "Fine," I handed Rose's bag back to her, tightening her dark green leather gloves on her wrists. "Please, do not disobey me, I know the Fae Kingdom of Nyx, I've explored enough to know my way around pretty damn well, so, listen to me, okay? When I tell you to do something, you do it. When I tell you not to, you don't do it. We gotta stick together, it's a crushing environment, and you are not ready to what you will see, it will overwhelm you in the beginning. Maybe through it all."
I stood up, passing my fingers through my long curly hair that's as a dark shade of cherry red, in a color that's between purple and red, like wine, but not quite like it, it's unique, I've never seen anyone, surface dweller or hell dweller with a hair like mine, my black nails dyed blood red, "Don't focus solely on the mission, roam around, explore, enjoy what you think there's to be enjoyed, live this experience so you won't regret not living enough, but don't dive in it, don't drown in it."
"Do it all with a focus on what we have to do, this ain't just for exploration this time, we have a mission. A very serious one, that might potentially cause a catastrophic war between surface and hell, and could also kill billions, but sure, yay, it's a mission," I sounded so deprecating that all of my siblings stiffened up, as if only now they were gasping what our parents really were trying to do here. "Be careful, don't be too kind, don't let them know who we are or it'll be troublesome, they hate the rulers of Hell, they think we are tyrants."
"So, they cannot, in any circumstances, know who we are, what we are past demons of succubus order, if they question us about it, and that we are siblings of close age, of same father and different mothers because our father has many wives.
