During the four years I had Professor Xavier, I still remember the first day. I could recall the first thing I said to him.
"Are you the Professor?" I asked.
"Yes…now what is your name,?" he said.
As he answered my questions I looked at him, his trimmed gray beard, which somehow matched his young face and there were his eyes blue, and his transparent square glasses boldened his look even more. His wardrobe was simple, brown jeans and a white collared shirt.
Over the years, I could remember the beginning of my school year was hard, the struggles I was going through felt tiring but he seemed to understand, and he talked to me. Some days he would just ask how I was. Even though there were more than sixty kids in his class of students he remembered my name.
"Ash… that is a cool name, my name is Xavier," he said smiling.
Just like now looking at him, the impact, he has made on me is great, I have become more joyful and even more of a joker, as he said to me "You got to be more fun, what's there's in life if there is such life living so down, live life and have fun"
"Thank you, professor" a kid shaking his hand and leaving the room.
The line of students who wished to thank him was not long for me and my friends because of our seat locations.
Soon Ellie was able to say her thanks and then Anthony and Annie continued with the thanks and good wishes.
And then it was my turn, he looked at me the same way he did when I first met him with a great simile, and with it, I smiled back.
"Now, Ash I have been waiting to talk to you, would you mind waiting for all the students to leave? I have something to ask of you if you can?"
"That should not be a problem, I can wait professor"
Time went and soon more than twenty minutes passed, it was not a problem that I had to wait, I learned how to be patient when I was young, but most of all he had helped me so much. Why would I not agree to his simple request, though I was really curious what he wanted to say to me?
When I reached to his desk after waiting, I asked him. "So what do you want to tell me, professor?"
"I think I have a job for you, Now I know what kinda person you are I have known…"
"Wait wait…Professor what are talking about, you think"
"Yes I think I got a job for you, are you interested?" he asked taking off his glasses
"Wait you got a job for me, like what kinda of job is it?" I asked knowing there were many things you could do with my degree.
"Ash you're a smart kid, your future is endless and you could do anything. I can imagine you being a teacher or professor just like me, I can see you building great things with your abilities in quantum mathematics and even in a lab of some kind that is doing great research that could change the world."
"But why me, I'm not the best why not Emily she is the smarties in the classroom or even Ellie but why me"
"They are smart but you are smart too, you know that there are many branches of quantum understanding right?" he said cleaning his glasses with a white cloth.
"But, I don't understand,?" I told him still confused that somehow I might get a job.
"It's your analytics skills and your ability to solve problems quickly, and you're easy to work with because you try to help everyone when sometimes they might be holding you back, you see I was given a job, that was to help all my students to understand the course and second to find someone that can be apart of the great changes of the world, so are you interested," he said
"I am, but you got to tell me more," I said smiling back.
"Are you free on the thirteenth, because you got a field trip to take…"
