Chapter 13 - Friends

"Shshshs."

The sound of the wooden sliding door never grew old, it always felt like the first time. The same could be said for the view before me. The wooden lecture hall stood distinct, unlike any other on campus.

Sitting in my usual place, I could see that I was a little earlier than usual. This class was made up of fifty students, seniors, and juniors.

Usually, most classes in the school have at least a hundred students, but this class is different, one is that it's a morning class the second reason is its course.

I'm not a genius, nor am I the smartest person in the school. I'm just good with numbers, and as such I can comprehend a lot of numbers giving me an advantage with large equations.

This so-called gift comes from when I was really young. And is now used mostly for this class.

The class is called Quantum Mathematics. A four-year class teaches all about Quantum Mathematics and it's many mysteries.

You are wondering why take this class, it's the same way for me to be honest, In my junior year of high school, I was already taking college-level classes for math. Does that mean I was at the college level for any other class, hell no, I barely passed chemistry and for history, for some reason, I was able to remember numbers but not people.

So when I reached, the decision to join B.N.Y.U I wanted to challenge myself and bury my emotions that lingered from high school and Life.

That was the excuse but over time I started to love the class and its uniqueness.

As my elbow supported my weight and my hands cradled my face, I tried to get comfortable. But soon, I noticed more and more people entering the lecture hall.

Three of my close friends in the class entered, nearing me were two girls and one boy.

The two girls were Annie, a Southeast Asian girl, very outgoing and smart. She wore a black crop top with blue jeans, that matched perfectly with her long dark brown hair and dark-brown eyes. The reason for such a lady to take this class was not for herself but for her family company, she never went into detail but it had something to do with Quantum Machines.

The blond girl that walked right beside her, was Ellie, she was smart and at least one of the smartest students of the school. Her thin glasses that helped her green eyes to pop out like that of a cat and with her white shirt, and light blue jeans, would lead some to think she had a chance at acting because of how good she looked.

In front of them, was Anthony, six feet tall and skinny, he wore a gray long-sleeve shirt with dark blue jeans that highlighted his dark-brown skin that was glossy. With a buzz cut and symmetrical face, you might assume he might steal your girlfriend. Not only was he good-looking and an inch taller than me, but he also was a model.

"Hey, Ash did you get my text" While saying that she went around Anthony.

"Well yaa, but did I not tell you I have been having pain, like cramps in my stomach for the past couple of days," I said, not lying one bit, for the past couple of days I just keep getting the most painful cramps at the same time I feel like I am going suffocate.

"So it's not getting better, have you scheduled a doctor's appointment," Anthony said, I could tell the big guy was feeling bad for me.

"Yes I have, that's also the reason why I could not make it, do you know how long it takes to make an appointment that is not already scheduled like a year before…it sucks man," I said.

"Dang, maybe you're just getting period cramps, that could be the reason for sulky emotions," Ellie said with a straight face.

"Yeah, haha, but to be honest he's usually always sulky," Annie added.

"NOT funny guys… it hurts," I said with a low voice and remembering laying on the ground alone crying last night, darn it!! I hope it's nothing bad when I go to the doctor.

"So when is it? I want to know because I think we should all three hang out one more time before the ceremonies. And before the big parity three weeks from now." Anthony said.

"The beginning of the next week, Monday the afternoon. So yeah, I think we all would be able to hang out together before the ceremonies. " I said with a smile, it's been a while since we all hung out I thought.

Annie continued after me, saying "We should all hang out on…"

After deciding on the day. The conversation went back and forth between gossip and school-related events that transpired during are four years together.
