CHAPTER 2
They picked up Alice and rushed her to the hospital in a flash. Luke exclaimed, "We need help!" He was sitting in the hospital hall, surrounded by people in black, his shirt covered in blood. Nurses and doctors rushed over to help save Alice's life, as she was badly injured. They instantly sent her to the operating room for emergency surgery, as her wounds were deep and she was bleeding out quickly.
In the operating room, nurses and doctors surrounded her body, saying they didn't think she'd make it. But Dr. Lewis, a renowned surgeon, was called in to save her life. The nurse burst into the lounge, yelling, "Dr. Lewis, there's an emergency operation that needs your attention!" Dr. Lewis jumped up, leaving his lunch behind, and rushed to the operating room.
Two hours later, Luke was anxious, pacing back and forth. Jessica, his girlfriend, tried to calm him down. "Bae, chill, it's only two hours. I know that's why you're worried, but she's strong. She's even stronger than me." Luke laughed, and Jessica folded her arms, teasingly saying, "Hey, do you think she's stronger than me?" But before Luke could respond, Dr. Lewis walked out of the operating room, his loud voice echoing through the hall.
"Who is Miss Menzo's family?" he asked. Luke stood up, quickly walking over to Dr. Lewis. "Yes, yes, me! I'm her family. Is she OK? Is everything OK?" Dr. Lewis smiled, reassuring him. "Yes, everything's OK. The surgery went well, and it was a success." The men and women in black waiting in the hall let out a collective sigh of relief, happy that their boss was alive and safe.
But Dr. Lewis continued, "But...I need to monitor her overnight in case she faces any complications." Luke nodded, saying, "That's OK with us. Take good care of her, Doc." Dr. Lewis smiled, greeting him with a nod. Jessica finally spoke up, "Can we see her now?" Dr. Lewis shook his head, "You guys can see her now, but not too many people at a time." They nodded, and Dr. Lewis led the way to Alice's room.
