Some of the others walked into Alice's room to check on her. "Boss, are you up?" one of them asked, trying to get her attention.
"Yes, you idiot, obviously I'm up," Jessica smiled, her eyes lighting up the room. "How are you feeling today, boss lady?" Jessica and Alice were very close friends, so she would always be honest with her and consider every move. Alice even thought that Jessica deserved way better than Luke.
"I'm good, but what I want to know is, Tony, my right-hand man, is he...?" Alice asked, looking at her men. Luke nervously rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, boss, he's not dead. He seems to have escaped when he shot you. Everyone's attention was on you, so he ran away."
Alice yelled and flew out of bed instantly. "What do you mean he ran off? Are you guys crazy?" Jessica rushed to her side, trying to calm her down. "Boss lady, you need to lay down, you might hurt your stitches."
Alice tried to finish her sentence, but Jessica interrupted her. "I don't care about my stitches right now. Do you know how dangerous it is to have a loose end? They're going to look for me, and they know I'm alive already."
Luke tried to speak up, but another female stopped him. "What is wrong with these females, always stopping me when I'm about to finish speaking?" he thought to himself.
"No, no buts, look, this means war, and we need to get ready. We killed their boss, and they're not going to rest until they come for me," Alice said, her eyes blazing with anger.
Luke tried to reason with her. "But boss, they think you're dead. When we picked you up, you weren't breathing, and you lost a lot of blood. That's what the world suspects."
Alice's expression changed, and she sat back on her bed, thinking. "Yes, boss, I think you should just find somewhere to hide for a while, then we can kill them all in secret."
"That sounds like a good idea," Luke agreed. "Also, spread rumors in the underworld that Nicki Minaj is the new boss, and set up a funeral for me. I'll be like a dead woman walking."
Alice's eyes sparkled with amusement, and a white smirk played on her lips. "Yes, boss, I'll take care of it," Luke replied firmly.
As Dr. Lewis walked past the front desk, Alice called out to him. "Hey, Dr. Lewis, you're leaving?"
"Yes, I have a meeting to attend to at two in the morning, so I'm leaving early to get some rest," he replied, smiling at the nurse.
Later, Dr. Lewis walked to the parking lot and was about to get into his car when a gun was pointed at his head. He recognized the voice of the person in the hoodie as feminine and soft. "Don't move," the stranger yelled, her voice laced with haste.
