Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

"Jack!!!" I yelled as I stood in the living room with my phone in my hand as I got ready to expose Vivian. "Jack!!!!" I shouted once more and he ran downstairs, looking worried.

"Are you ok?" He asked as he touched my stomach. Vivian also came down too.

"I'm fine. I want you to watch this." I said as I gave him my phone and an earphone to listen to everything. I folded my arms on my chest staring at Vivian with a sarcastic smile. She looked bothered about what I showed Jack and I could feel it from my skin.

I watched as Jack's face grew red and his eyes were deadshot. He slowly stood up and turned to Vivian. He was so angry that his hands were shaking as he took slow steps to her.

"Whose child are you carrying?" He asked her through clenched teeth.

"It's yours babe. You remember right?" She said as she tried touching his face but he flinched angrily.

"I don't remember anything!!!!" He yelled at the top of his voice, causing everywhere dead silent.

"Don't believe whatever she told you Jack. She's trying to cause a rift between us. She just wants me out of the house Jack, you know that." She said as she came close him and wrapped her hands around his muscle arm that was visible from the white sweatshirt he wore.

"Don't...touch....me!!!!" He ordered with strictness.

"Don't say that Jack. It's your baby. We've calculated it and it rhymed right?" She continued pressing on.

"Fine." Jack said suddenly. "The only way to get the truth right now is to carry out a DNA test." Jack concluded.

"That's not necessary Jack. I can't believe that you don't trust me. I'm such a poor pregnant woman and now you want to reject your child. That doesn't make you a man Jack." She tried convincing him but Jack had already made up his mind. Once he says he is going to do something, he will do it. He never back down.

I watched as Vivian's face went sour after Jack said those last words before leaving upstairs. One could see the extreme anger she had from her eyes. "I told you I must find out." I told her before leaving.

Few minutes later, Jack came back downstairs and he drove Vivian and I to the hospital for the test. From where I was sitting in the car, I saw how tensed Vivian looked. The biting of fingernails, rubbing off an invisible sweat from the forehead and other signs.

Within minutes, we were at the hospital. We consulted a doctor and he conducted the test. "The results will be out in 20 minutes time, please be patient." The doctor informed us. Vivian couldn't stop breathing fast. As the time was coming near, she grew more tensed that was visible.

Exactly 20 minutes later, the doctor came back with the test results in his hand. He sat down and cleared his throat before he started talking. "Well, this is the test results." He said. "Should I go ahead and read it or you want to read it?" He asked.

"Just say it doctor." Jack answered.

"Ok. The test results shows that the child isn't yours Mr Blackwood. They came out negative." The doctor addressed.

Jack smiled quietly in a sarcastic way. He rose to his feet. "Thank you doctor." He said before leaving. I walked as fast as possible to catch up with him. Vivian also tagged along and he drove us home.

The moment we got to the house, Jack stormed upstairs and brought down all of Vivian's belongings. "I'm sorry Jack. I thought it was your----------"

"Shut up!!!!!!" He angrily shouted at her. "You didn't know it was my baby? After taking care of you, you come to tell me this? I'm so disappointed in you." He spat angrily. "Guards, take her and her belongings out of my house. I don't want to see her anywhere close to my house." Jack ordered before going upstairs. Vivian fell to the ground and cried crocodile tears.

I saw Jack crying when I got to the room. He wrapped his arms around his knee as he sat on the ground. I quickly rushed to him and placed his head on my chest while rubbing his hair. "It's ok dear. We've settled it." I told him.

"I had plans for her and her baby and all she could do was stab me in the back?" He said after crying.

That was the first and last I saw Jack crying. I felt his pain and I was also touched. Still with him, I started feeling little pains around my abdomen. It started mildly before growing more severe. "Ahhh." I moaned from where I sat.

"What is it?" Jack asked as he suddenly turned to me.

"I'm having some pains around here." I said pointing my belly bottom. "Arghhhh." I yelled. This time it hit me hard. "I think I'm in labour." I told him after seeing that my water has broken.

"We need to go to the hospital." Jack said as he rose to his feet. He carried me up and we walked downstairs slowly. "Take care of Max." He instructed one of the servants.

I continued screaming as we went downstairs. Jack slowly put me in his car and drove to the hospital.

I was placed on a stretcher that took me into the emergency ward. Jack was with me with our fingers interlocked. "It's ok dear. You're going to be fine." He encouraged me as I continued screaming in pain. I felt happy inside me because he was not present during the birth of Max but he was there for our second child.

I was in labour for almost half an hour. The doctor gave me some injections to help reduce the pain. Though it subsided but it continued after about 20 minutes later.

The pain increased minutes by minute. "I think we should start now." The doctor told Jack.

They all came to the ward and started. All through the time, Jack was by my side. Whenever I closed and opened my eyes, I saw his reassuring face telling me. 'you can do it babe' .

I was happy to have him there with me. It felt so easy that I didn't even know when the baby came out. I watched as the doctor gave Jack the baby with a blur vision.

"We did it babe. It's a girl." Jack said happily as he stared at me. I gave a weak smile as my eyes closed little by little until everywhere became dark............
