~Aurora~
"Stop forcing me! There's no use. I should hide here!" I growled and hid behind one of the beds in the slave quarters. The bright full moon shone into the room, giving it a warm feeling.
"You can't lock yourself up here, it's not going to change anything," Mira, a servant in the pack house, said, trying to assure me.
"You're an orphan, sooner or later you'll have to give in because you have no place to go," she added, causing me to grit my teeth in anger.
Ever since the pack discovered I was an orphan with no wolf, they pushed me to the Alpha to live at his mercy; I have been serving the Alpha, working in his house as a slave and all he does is make advances on me. For weeks now, he threatens to banish me, knowing I have no place to go.
"Watch me lock myself then!" I abruptly said and stood to my feet as I tried pushing her towards the door.
"Fine! I'll leave! But you can't hide here from him forever, he'll surely fish you out soon" She hissed and walked towards the door when suddenly, she stumbled into Alpha Desmond's mother, the Luna of the pack.
"What are you peasant still doing here? Your mates are outside, making sure everything is in order while the both of you are here gossiping," she scolded, causing us to bow deeply as we apologized in unison.
"We're sorry ma"
"Sorry for yourselves! You know what? I know the right job to give you both! Follow me." She said and beckoned for us to follow her. I glared at Mira for putting us in trouble.
The Alpha was hosting a feast, It was a peace treaty for our neighboring pack, Titanium Moon Pack. Rumors say that the Alpha of Titanium Moon Pack is very strong and young and he has no mate, so to strike an everlasting deal with the Alpha of Titanium Moon Pack, Alpha Desmond plans to offer him his sister, Rachel, as his mate.
"Since you servants have no work, you'll help my daughter get ready and escort her to the feast room when it gets started!" She said as we got to the door of her daughter's room. She opened the door revealing Rachel, standing in front of the full-length mirror close to her king-size bed
"It's time, sweetheart!" The Luna said before aggressively turning to us, "You! Join the servants in the kitchen and wash the dishes!" She said, pointing at Mira. My palms were sweating and shaking as I stood next to Luna
"While you! Stand behind my daughter and escort her to the dining room," she instructed before turning to Rachel with a warm smile on her face
"You look so beautiful dear, I'll be waiting for you to make a marvelous entrance in the dining room," she said and left the both of us standing in the room. Rachel let out a long sigh as she gazed at the mirror for the last time before turning to me
"Don't you just stand there! Take a hand fan and fan me!" She ordered, causing me to turn to the bedside, searching for a hand fan, but I couldn't find one
"Gosh! You're too slow and it's pissing me off. Just follow me!" She spat, causing me to swallow hard before trailing behind her, making sure that I was at least three feet apart.
We got to the door of the dining room, I could see that she was nervous and her palm began to sweat so I parted my lips to give her some words of encouragement, "You'll do just fine Princess Rachel, you look exceptionally gorgeous tonight! Just smile throughout the night, milady." She quickly turned to me and chuckled softly, mockingly,
"What does a mere servant know about events like this? You're better off in men's bed," Rachel said, causing me to blink my eyes for a few seconds. Maybe I was wrong about speaking. I was merely trying to distract my mind from the thoughts of Alpha Desmond sitting in the dining room.
The door slowly opened, and the aroma of the dishes filled the air. I walked slowly, three steps behind Rachel, as we proceeded into the room.
Gasp! I suddenly stopped breathing for a second the moment I found Alpha Desmond gazing at me.
"Why did he have to notice me so early?" I thought as I swallowed hard.
"Alpha Liam, please meet my sister, Princess Rachel!" Alpha Desmond made an introduction for his sister. I threw my gaze across the table and my eyes fell on the so-called strong and young Alpha Liam.
His dark color hair was neatly combed back, leaving just a few strands from the right to fall above his eyes. His hazel eyes were staring directly into mine and I found him sniffing in the air with his perfectly chiseled nose
"Damn! He's handsome," I heard Rachel mutter and gingerly sat beside her brother while I stood behind her as her handmaid.
I found Alpha Liam gazing at Rachel as he whispered something to his beta.
"Aurora...." Alpha Desmond whispered my name, causing my heart to jump into my stomach
"Please, let's eat and make a toast" The Luna caught our attention as she raised her glass cup and slowly used a fork to hit it gently, trying to get everyone else attention
"To our new alliance!" She said with so much elegance. After making the toast, everyone gazed at their food until suddenly Alpha Liam cleared his throat and said,
"Thank you for this Alpha Desmond, but like I said, I won't be staying long." He paused and wiped his lips, "You have really beautiful maidens here, and bless the moon goddess for giving me a mate from this pack." I saw a bright smile curve across Rachel's face. I was glad too that she'd be leaving to reduce the trouble that most of us servants have.
"Splendid," Luna said and turned to her daughter, smiling warmly.
"That's great Alpha Liam, it's a good thing that we won't just be friends but also in-laws," Alpha Desmond said, but suddenly, Alpha Liam stood up and pointed at me causing
my eyes to widen in shock
"She's the one, she's my mate!"
