In an instant, chaos erupted as a gunshot pierced the air. "NO!" Tristan protective instincts kicked in, propelling him in front of Mila to shield her. Anna's panicked scream pierced the air as she rushed out of the house. Her eyes widened in horror as she saw both Tristan and Mila collapsing to the ground, she ran over to them, and knelt beside them.
"Oh no, please not now, Mila. Please don't die on me." Anna cried, her voice trembling with fear
"I'm fine, Anna," Mila manage to reassure between laboured breaths. "I just hit my head on the ground, but Tristan is he okay? Tristan....Tristan are you okay...."
"He's not moving, Mila," Anna said her voice filled with anguish.
"What? No... no...." Mila jumps up and kneel over Tristan, the weight of desperation heavy on her shoulders. Panic surged as Tristan remained motionless. He was lying on his front side, she tries to roll him over but was too heavy.
Tristan's father sprinted up the walkway to where Tristan was lying, his face twisted with anger. He pointed an accusing finger at Mila and screamed, "It's all you! It's all your fault! I just got my son back and look what you did!"
Mila's eyes widened in disbelief. "What! How can you blame me? It was you who called for the fire!" she shouted back, her voice filled with raged. She stood up from the ground where she had been kneeling beside Tristan, her body trembling with anger. "It's just like six years ago, you where the one who caused his death in the first place, and you blamed me. If Tristan doesn't survive this, I'm going to hunt you down and make sure to burry you alive...." she continued screaming.
As accusations flew, Christian's denial cut through the confusion. "My men didn't fire yet!" Christian shouted back.
Everyone frantically scanned the surroundings, trying to figure out who had opened fire. In the midst of the commotion, Mila's gaze fell upon Tristan, who had regained consciousness and is now sitting upright. She instinctively moved towards him. However, before she could reach him, Chad burst out of the house, his hands and shirt stained with blood.
"Quick, call an ambulance!" Chad screamed from the porch. "Alfonso's been shot!"
Anna was the first to react, swiftly turning and rushing towards the house to help Alfonso. Mila and Tristan exchanged confused glances, unsure of Anna's sudden behaviour.
Meanwhile, Chad held his hand up in the air, displaying a golden puzzle piece with the letter G engraved on it. "And can anyone tell me what the hell this is?" he asks, his voice filled with bewilderment.
Gasps echoed throughout the room as Vincent and Christian both sprinted towards Chad. "Where did you get this?" Chirstian demanded, his eyes narrowing in suspicion.
"I don't know. Chad replied, his voice slightly exasperated. "I was busy holding on to Alfonso, who managed to fall on me. And then out of nowhere, the puzzle piece ended up in my hand.
Christain's eyes widened in fear as he whispered, "The Ghost, he's here." Panic filled the air as both Vincent and Christian urgently shouted at their men "Retreat now!" They turned, sprinting away as fast as they could.
"Father where are you going, what's going on and what is this puzzle piece thing." Mila asks while she ran after her father to stop him.
Vincent turns back to her and put a hand on her shoulder. "Mila," he whispers and shake his head while looking down. "The prophecy has started, baby girl. I tried to stall it for as long as I could to keep you safe and with me but now it's out of my hands..." Vincent paused for a moment. "You and your sister need to be careful and protect each other. I can no longer be part of this, but I will always be one step behind you remember that, and remember I love you with all my heart, and I did what I did because I loved you and your sister.
"But father I don't understand, I have so many questions, please..." Mila pleaded desperately.
"I can't Mila, I'm sorry, but I can help you with this," Vincent said, his voice laced with concern. "Get Tristan, Chad and Alfonso out of here and let them disappear until this is all over, because if they keep on interfering like this, they will lose their life's...and Mila keep an eye on that photographer and his friend. I don't trust them."
Mila nodded, understanding the seriousness of the situation. Vincent pulled her into a tight hug, holding her for a moment before releasing her. He walked back to his black SUV with an air of authority, got in, and swiftly drove off, leaving Mila.
"Mila! come quick!" Anna yelled from the porch.
Without hesitation, Mila rushed into the house behind Anna. "What is it, Anna?" she manages to ask, but before Anna could answer, they came to a halt behind Chad where he was kneeling next to Alfonso.
"Oh no..." Mila gasped, her heart sinking, and she rushed over to Alfonso. "Babe? Look at me..." Alfonso turned his head slowly to look at Mila, his expression pained.
"I wish for peace on earth and for this to end, Babe, I love you so much," Alfonso whispered, his voice filled with emotion, before closing his eyes.
"Shh, don't speak, babe. The ambulance will be here shortly," Mila tried to reassure him.
Chad, still kneeling next to Alfonso rolled his eyes, "Oh, come on! Stop being such a big baby. You're not dying. It's only an arrow, and it's not even that deep." he said sarcastically.
Anna walked over. "Wait what is this?" she asks, her eyes narrowing as she bent down to examine the arrow lodge in Alfonso's side.
Both Chad and Mila leaned in closer, their curiosity piqued as they tried to see what Anna had discovered. "It's some kind of symbols, and there's the letter G again," Chad observed, his brow furrowing in confusion.
"It's not symbols, it's written in Russian language," Mila interjected, correcting him.
Chad's eyes widened in surprise. "Russian? But aren't you half Russian?" he asks, seeking clarification.
"No Chad, South African," Mila confirmed. "And I think this G stands for Ghost...."
