Chapter 1 - Rocky Foundations

Year 200 of the Windfall calendar, the Rex Clan fell, ending the tyranny of the Rex Twin Masters. With a death toll of one hundred thousand, it is marked as the bloodiest war in the world's history. Thankfully, a cultivator from the upper realms descended and suppressed the wicked twins. He also stripped the cultivation of the entire Rex Clan and cursed them to never produce a cultivator again. After 100 years, the clan almost went extinct from not being able to find willing mates. It is said that they moved to a far land in the 2nd realm and changed their names. However, they managed to produce three sons and a daughter before leaving. The Rex Clan's one-thousand-year reign ended.

Year 315, The first realm was renamed Filius by the cultivator and declared that it shall be the unchanging named of the realm. This will be the first for any realm, as the realms are usually named after the most powerful force in command. On that day, the Chiefs of the Seven High Clans of the 5th realm, descended to Filius. Each chief is a Level 5 Transcendent Master, but even they bowed before this cultivator. They acknowledged, "Greetings Great Master. What brings the Immortal Sage to this humble place? Command and we shall obey." To those present on that day, they could not believe what they heard.

To be called a Sage is a high enough honor, but this man was called Immortal Sage. Immortals are stewards of the Sub-Heavens and rare in this era. Seeing one is a blessing enough and this one personally intervened in the management of the realm. However, him being known to the seven chiefs, means that his ascension was during or after the Chaos Calamity of the Tenebris Era, four hundred years ago. He raised his hand and the ground trembled. He tore apart the great land mass, separating the pieces with the sea. "I decree, a cultivator shall not use their power to oppress ordinary people or topple dynasties. Violators shall be executed where they stand.

- For 300 years, none with the cultivation above the Golden Core Stage shall occupy territory in the three lower realms. The 5th Realm shall set rules and guidelines for those below but shall not oppress another. The position of Realm Master shall remain, held by anyone strong enough to keep it." He then stripped all current Realm Masters of their titles, setting in the courtyards of all Chief Palaces, a hammer. He declares, "Anyone who can hold this hammer above their heads from sunrise to sunset, shall hold the position of Realm Master. To challenge the sitting Realm Master, one must lift the hammer for the same amount time before issuing the challenge.

- If no challenge is issued, the Realm Master shall choose his or her successor. A Realm Master may rule indefinitely if they so choose. The powers or power of the 6th realm, being the Ancestral Domain, may remove a Realm Master if necessary." The seven chiefs bowed as the Immortal Sage departed in a red mist. High Chief Vhon of the seven chiefs expressed, "the decree of the Great Master is heard and accepted. In that instant, a great heaviness fell upon all above the Golden Core Stage, prompting them to leave the three lower realms.

The seven chiefs returned to the 5th realm to discuss how to go about their new responsibilities. New maps were to be made, and new powers were to be discovered. In 321, Eden Sin became the Realm Master of Filius and began shaping the realm the way he desired. He will be the first Realm Master not belonging to the Rec Clan. In fact, he belonged no to clan at all. By the year 415, the Filius Realm became populated by 170 empires and over 5,000 clans, spanning 3 planets and 2 solar systems. In 421, his 100-year rule and 200th birthday was celebrated by those not breaking his rules. During this year, Tay Rome lifted the Filius Hammer but was unable to defeat the 200-year-old Eden.

However, because he was able to lift the hammer, Eden made him Vice Realm Master and ordered a palace be built for him and his clan was elevated to a Class 5 clan. This made Tay the first Vice Realm Master of any realm. Soon, other realms followed suit, but only three realms had a Realm Master, the 1st, 4th and the 5th. The two ruled for another hundred years together, until Eden, who is now at the Celestial Body Stage, relinquished the position to Tay before leaving for the 4th realm. However, Tay would not have an easy reign. Ten years into his reign, he had some challengers. Three in fact. Quincy Qunit, Winn Dayle and Rogue Cultivator Swin. All in the Golden Core Stage.

The 150-year-old Tay, accepted all three challenges, declaring a three-way battle. After being knocked down, you must return to your feet within ten seconds or forfeit the challenge. For 60 days, the realm watched an epic display by the three masters. Master Swin was domineering with his Moonlit Spear with 5-0 knock downs. However, Tay held a score of 0-9. On the 96th day of the battle, Tay, 150 and Swin, 56, were the last two standing. They fought another three days, with Swin conceding in the end. Like Eden did for him, Tay made Swin his Vice Master, allowing him to occupy the palace of the Vice Realm Master.

Quincy Qunit was made First Elder of Filius and Winn Dayle was appointed as Second Elder. This power structure saw great success as the population of the realm grew and various powers rose. Vice Master Swin appointed 5 more elders, resulting in Tay validating a Council of Realm Elders, building a palace for them. Then, the time came. The 300-year ban on upper-level cultivators operating in the lower realms expired. The three lower realms braced themselves for any eager masters looking to take over. Together with the Elder Council, Tay formed a powerful army, ready to face any threat. However, they would have some ease in knowing that Eden is still alive has been made an elder in the 5th realm, with powerful subordinates.

For the most part, there weren't any moves made on any realm, so there was peace. At the age of 268, Tay broke through, entering the Celestial Body Stage. Fortunately, he did not have to relinquish his position as the ban was no longer in place. Vice Master Swin and the Realm Elders advised him to keep his position, as he had the highest cultivation in the realm and would be able to defend against threats from another. However, peace was temporary. As powerful cultivators raised their realms, various challenges followed. Empires rose and fell, clans formed and crumbled.

War broke out across the five realms, as various people managed to lift their realm's hammer. The strong ruled the weak, as no Realm Master could rise in some realms and others ruled for less than a decade. Most Celestial Body masters were called to the 4th realm to keep the major power struggle from reaching the lower three. Eventually, the 6th realm intervened, seeing the return of many ancestors who reached the Pseudo Immortal Stage, also known as the Phenomenal Stage. The Phenomenal masters sealed the five realms, placing a cultivation ban on each realm to balance the power as best they could.

Above the Golden Core Stage level 3, you must leave the Filius Realm and move to the 2nd realm. The 2nd realm will have Celestial Body masters and their family born to the realm. The 3rd realm shall be the home of Nascent Soul cultivators and their family. Transcendent Stage masters shall rule the 4th realm and Pseudo Immortals shall call the 5th realm home. The 6th realm shall remain detached as the Ancestral Resting Realm. No one knows how long this ban will last, but it is best not to test the might of a united Ancestral force of Pseudo Immortals.

Now, it was time to begin the rebuilding of the realms. The Ancestors returned the power of oversight to the fifth realm, trusting things could be better. The Realm Hammers of many realms went missing during the war, so the system of "the strong rules", was reintroduced.

This was the Renegade Era that spanned 727 years.
