Chapter 2 - The Rising Son 1

Year 1010 of the Windfall Calendar and no Chaos Calamity occurred. Since ancient times, a calamity occurred once every thousand years. After each calamity, a new calendar era begins and the countdown restarts. The Windfall Calendar, named after the Windall Clan that shouldered last calamity on behalf of all, holds the longest run thus far. Not to be complacent, no clan would spear any resource to cultivate the best masters in all the realms. Even through stolen valor, they made their names. In fact, Gina Dyl and Taurus Winn, produced a boy already at the Celestial Body phase. A miracle by all definition, but the envy of the human heart was greater.

The Dyl and Winn family was under the rule of the Tavin Clan, and they were not warm individuals. After the clan's leader learned of the miracle baby, he suppressed the news from the rest of the clan and the world and enacted an evil scheme. Under his orders, the elders abolished the cultivation of the couple and stole the baby's core during an ambush while the little family was on a journey out of town. They then transplanted the core into the clan leader's son, to elevate the clan's status. They did not stop there. They eradicated the entire Dyl and Winn families to cover up their schemes, falsely charging them with wicked cultivation.

However, during the transplant of a stolen core, the level weakened to the mid stage Golden Core. While not the Celestial Body they wanted, it was still a win for the Tavin Clan. The young master now has the highest cultivation in the clan, and they can now be recognized as a Core Family of the Filius Realm at the Silver Rank. When searching for the little family, their bodies were found by the riverside at the edge of town. Unfortunately for the Tavin Clan, those were divine constructs made by a master beyond their station of understanding. The real little family was rescued by a Loose Cultivator passing by.

As the only native Silver Rank clan in Fo Rest City, the city's Seal of Command is handed over to the Tavin Clan under Imperial Law. The little family was taken to the closest city over called Kanry. They were settled in the countryside in a village called Bank. Like the little family, most of the people of Bank are fleeing something from their past. This master settled them in Geen Manor. In all of Bank, this is the most lavish place, but it is a place that has only housed the greatly wronged. This master is singlehandedly responsible for 80% of Bank's population. Even City Lord Waar dare not make decisions rashly about the village for not just of the master, but because he too received the master's grace.

What is different from others is that the master did not dictate a limit to their stay. Usually, he would give a timeline of 1 year until the manor had to be vacated. That was usually enough time to get work and a place of your own. No such thing was imposed on the little family. Not only that, but the manor was staffed with housekeepers and guards. After 30 days, the master returned to the manor and stayed inside or 7 days and nights. During this time, residents could hear the clinking of hammer on metal coming from the manor. Storm clouds gathered above, revealing heavenly calamity. Then, silenced followed for 7 days and then, the master left.

A month later, the gates of the manor were unlocked, allowing visitors at last. Many people visited the little family, giving gifts and advice. Under instruction from the master, the couple shed their names and took on new ones. They are now Kane and Lyla Son. Their little baby boy, Mateo Son, named by the master. The Son Family is born. On the night of Mateo's first birthday the following year, lighten struck the manor's sign, changing it from Geen Manor to Son Mansion. The Son Family was loved by all in Bank, and they adored everyone there. During the Kanry City's great recession, Kane allowed the Bank farmers to use 12 acres of Son land and used some of the master's money to hire more hands.

They also paid the Bank guards for a year, unofficially becoming the Bank Commissioner. There were many attempts to appoint a commissioner to Bank, but the master had always opposed it, making Bank the only village/district without a commissioner. After serving in the role unofficially without movement from the master, the city made it official, granting the Commissioner's Seal to Kane Son and the Deputy Commissioner's Seal to Kane's close friend Ian Hans, by his request. There was a major celebration throughout Bank and the surrounding towns. In 1014, they received another blessing.

In the month of Ses, there rose a blue moon. The little family fell into a deep sleep that night, with an unusual stillness in the air. No creature moved or made sound. The wind dared not blow and the trees dared not move. Even the clouds above stilled. During the 7th dark hour, a dense fog fell upon the village now upgraded to a town. There were whispers and angelic humming throughout the town that came from every direction. It was spectacle never before seen. However, it was clear to everyone that something magical was taken place. They couldn't help but think that it had something to do with The Sons.

The next day, Kane and Lyla felt movement in their innate void they haven't felt in years. After meditating, they discover that their cultivation sea had returned and back to the level when it was taken, Foundation Forming Level 2. They quickly ran to Mateo's room, to find the master by his bedside. They looked at the master with great excitement, awaiting good news. The master said, "I have rebuilt his innate void and gave him a fresh foundation akin to his stolen one. It is such a rare and powerful base; it would be a disservice to replace it with any other. It is because of that type of foundation; I had to wait for that moment last night."

He added, "I could not return his Celestial Body Stage, but it would not be too difficult for him to return that level when he gets older. He is now at the Foundation Forming Level 3, but he is capable of competing with a Golden Core level 1 master. I will leave some techniques for you all to practice. I will return when he is 16 and can join the Kanry Academy." Before he left, he teaches them a technique to conceal their cultivation from unwanted eyes. With his technique and what is capable for their current strength, no one below the Transcendent Stage can see their true cultivation base. The people of Bank praised them and made a major suggestion.

In 1015, they registered The Son Clan with the Imperial Registry, giving them the right to form an army of no more than 1,000. As their clan power grows, they would be allowed a higher number. Every family in Bank, voluntarily joined The Son Clan, with Kane Son as their Clan Leader. They could not believe their luck and not a day went by that they didn't thank The Creator. They suffered heavy loss due to the envy and greed of the wicked, but they were sent a saving grace.
