Chapter 12 - impossible

______________________________

Peter Parker stood in the middle of the vast, advanced laboratory, his eyes scanning every corner filled with cutting-edge technology.

Around him, massive screens glowed with bright lights, displaying complex data streams and countless numbers.

Shelves lined with iconic Spider-Man suits in various designs stretched across the room.

Advanced, futuristic devices filled every corner of the space, reflecting the unimaginable technological progress of this world he now found himself in.

He froze for a moment, staring at the scene in disbelief and awe. "This... all of this belongs to me? These suits, this technology..."

He extended his hands as if trying to grasp the sheer magnitude of the tools and equipment surrounding him, unable to comprehend the scale of what he was witnessing.

He never imagined his laboratory could be this grand, this significant.

The overwhelming technological advancements surrounding him were beyond anything he had envisioned.

"How did I come to this? How did I become part of all this? Karen, what am I seeing? Are these my data?"

"Peter, what I'm about to tell you might be hard to believe. Your family in this world is far from ordinary."

"What do you mean?"

"Your family owns one of the largest economic empires in the world. Parker Industries has roots that stretch back generations. They operate in industries like manufacturing, investment, technology, and real estate. Your family's wealth is staggering-it rivals the likes of Wayne Enterprises and LexCorp."

Peter took a step back, his hand reaching to his head. "Wealth? An empire? Me? I mean... this version of me?"

"Yes, Peter. Your grandfather was a pioneer in the industrial sector. Your father continued that legacy and expanded the company into investments and advanced technology before his passing. Now, your sister oversees this empire brilliantly."

"Wait... I have a sister? Is it Theresa or someone else?"

"Yes. She's the current CEO of Parker Industries and one of the most influential figures in the world."

Peter stood frozen, his gaze fixed on the screen. "This is all new to me... How did I not notice this before?"

"Your memories haven't fully settled yet. Even though you carry many of them, your mind is still adjusting to the magnitude of this information."

Peter approached the screen again, studying the images and financial charts. "So, I'm wealthier than I ever imagined. But what about me? What's my role in all this?"

"You run your own company, Parker Tech. You chose to step away from the family business to focus on your technological projects. Your company is a leader in cutting-edge technologies-AI and smart devices."

Peter smiled faintly, as if some of the mystery was starting to lift. "This... incredible. I never imagined my life could be this complex. But I guess there's still so much to learn."

"That's true, Peter. But now, you have the chance to explore all of this. Would you like to know more about your sister, or about the company?"

Peter thought for a moment, then said, "Let's start with my sister."

"As you wish. I'll display her information now."

A picture appeared on the screen, causing Peter to freeze.

A stunning woman with golden blonde hair cascading elegantly over her shoulders, piercing blue eyes exuding confidence and warmth, stared back at him.

She wore a sleek, professional suit, radiating both authority and grace.

"Her name is Susan Parker, the CEO of Parker Industries. She's the mastermind behind the company's recent successes."

"Your family relies on her to manage the economic empire."

Peter's eyes widened, his voice rising in disbelief. "Susan?! This can't be! Susan Storm?!"

"In this world, she's Susan Parker. She's your older sister, Peter. She's always been there for the family, balancing their legacy with efficiency and responsibility."

Peter stared at the image, his brows furrowed in shock. "Karen, wait... Susan isn't my sister! I... I loved her in my world! How can she be my sister here?!"

"This universe presents different realities, Peter. In this world, Susan isn't part of the Storm family. She's a Parker, your older sister, who's been supporting the family all along."

Peter placed a hand on his head, trying to process the information. "But... but... I loved her in my world. She was part of the Fantastic Four, not related to me at all. How can she be my sister, especially when she's blonde?"

"This universe reshuffles relationships according to its own rules. While you saw Susan Storm as a potential partner in your world, here she's your sister, linked to your father's lineage."

Peter sat down heavily, overwhelmed. "Karen, this is more than I can comprehend. How do I even deal with this? How do I talk to her? I don't even want to acknowledge her as my sister."

"You'll need to remember, Peter, that this universe operates differently. Your shock is understandable, but you must focus on the relationship that exists here. She's your sister, and she plays a pivotal role in your life and the family."

Peter studied the picture once again. "Susan Parker... my sister? This is insane. But... if this is the truth here, then I need to speak with her. I need to understand this world."

"I'll arrange a meeting when you're ready, Peter. Take your time to process this."

As the screen dimmed, Peter sat there, lost in thought. The woman he had loved in his world had become his sister in this one.

The realization was more than he could bear, but he knew he had no choice but to accept this strange and unfamiliar reality.

He stayed here sitting on his chair. trying to focus on the data about Susan Parker, but his mind kept drifting to painful memories.

He began recalling the moments before he was thrust into this new world, brought here by Cassandra.

**Flashback**

.

.

Peter stood in a conference room inside the Baxter Building, facing the Fantastic Four. Anger and contempt radiated from each of them.

"Please, believe me!" Peter's voice trembled in desperation. "It was Dr. Octopus! He switched our minds! I'm the real Peter Parker, not him!"

Susan Storm, now Susan Parker, stood at the front, her eyes blazing with fury. "Enough, Peter! We trusted you, but you've become a threat to us and everyone around us. I can't believe you're trying to deceive us like this!"

Franklin, her son, stepped forward, looking at Peter with disdain. "You're just a criminal, Peter. How could we ever see you as a role model? You've betrayed us all!"

Valeria, his daughter, spoke coldly beyond her years. "We should have known you were irresponsible. I wish we had never let you into our lives."

Their words felt like knives cutting through Peter. He reached out to Susan, trying to find some shred of trust in her eyes. "Susan, I'm Peter! You know me better than anyone!"

But Susan cut him off, her voice sharp with anger. "Know you? I don't know who you are anymore! You're a danger to my family and this world. Leave. Now."

A panel from the ceiling shot out a blast of compressed air, propelling Peter backward.

Peter stumbled outside, collapsing to his knees in front of the building.

He gasped for breath, the memories of their rejection weighing heavily on him.

He tried to return, to explain further, but each time he approached, the doors remained closed, the cold, distant stares of Franklin and Valeria searing into him, with Susan delivering her final blow each time.

The worst blow came from Reed Richards, who stood silently in the background, a sly, calculating smile on his face, as if orchestrating everything from the shadows.

Finally, Reed stepped forward, his voice calm, but laced with malice. "Peter, I thought you were smarter than this. Don't come near us again, or the consequences will be severe."

He pointed toward the closed doors, his tone flat. "You're banished now. There's no place for you here."

**End of flashback**

.

.

Peter returned to the present, his breathing uneven as if the pain of that moment had returned.

He covered his face with his hands, the weight of his losses pressing down on him.

How he had lost everything, how those closest to him had become his enemies, and how Reed Richards had masterminded it all.

He muttered, his voice barely audible, filled with anguish: "Even her... even Susan didn't believe me..."
