Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The Passage of Time

The seasons passed, and the years rolled by in the **Starry Sky Empire**. Within the walls of the Karsoff family estate, a young boy stood under the bright moonlight. His face was strikingly handsome, and his black eyes had a touch of mysterious gray. This boy was Neil Karsoff, who had now reached the age of six, and he stood at nearly one and a half meters tall.

As Neil gazed at the sky, his mother, Celie, stood inside one of the mansion's rooms, with a maid kneeling before her. The maid said, "Madam, we've confirmed that the Lord of the family will return tomorrow."

Celie replied thoughtfully, "Hmm, he said he would return in half a year the last time we spoke, and now he's coming back after almost two years."

The maid added cautiously, "Madam, you know the Lord cannot fully reveal his strength due to the ongoing war between the empire and the Beast Kingdom, which has been raging for ten years."

Celie did not respond immediately but instead changed the subject, saying, "When will Matthew and Arthur return?"

The maid answered, "The second and third young masters will return from Star Academy in about a week."

Celie smiled with some joy and said, "Good, they shouldn't be late. It has been three years since their last visit home." But after a few seconds, her expression shifted slightly, and she asked, "What are the latest updates on Mark?"

At the mention of Mark, the maid's face changed slightly, and she said, "The first young master is still in the Western Continent, and that was the last news we received from him a year ago."

Celie commented with concern, "That child… He hasn't returned home in seven years and continues to wander across the continents, playing."

The maid said, "Madam, the first young master turned twenty-two last month; surely, he will return after some time spent playing outside."

Celie responded seriously, "Assign one of the Shadow Tower's guards to protect him. He's been reckless since he was a child."

After a few more discussions, the topic shifted back to Neil. The maid, dressed in black and named Assassin One, asked, "Madam, what about the fourth young master and his admission to the academy?"

Celie's expression changed slightly at this question, and she replied, "Neil cannot attend Star Academy. His level is far too advanced for the students there."

Celie was in a dilemma. She knew her son was a genius and that the day when he would discover everything about his family and their true power was fast approaching.

Assassin One suggested, "Why don't we send him to the High Sky Palace?"

When Celie heard this suggestion, she seemed impressed with the idea. After a moment of thought, she said, "The Lord of the palace still owes us a favor, correct?"

Assassin One confidently replied, "Yes, Madam."

Celie smiled in satisfaction and said, "Good. Send someone to the High Sky Palace and inform the Lord that young Neil will be training there."

After the discussion ended, Neil stood in the mansion's back garden, contemplating his current level. He opened his system status and carefully examined it:
