After leaving the palace, Neil headed east towards the center of the continent, where the Celestial Sky Palace was located. It was in the middle of the continent, not under the rule of any empire. For Neil, who was a level 3 knight, his body was strong—stronger by twenty times than that of an ordinary human. With the Immortal Body training, his body had become much stronger than that of a mere level 3 knight. If his current level were to be evaluated, it would likely be equivalent to a level 5 knight.
After formulating a rough plan for his journey, Neil decided to cross the Dragon's Fall Mountains, a vast mountain range that covers nearly a tenth of the continent. These mountains house beasts of many levels, and it is said that there are even many legendary-level beasts.
However, since Neil would be passing through the outer region, the highest-level beast he might encounter would be around level 6. After organizing everything, Neil set out for the Dragon's Fall Mountains.
After three days, Neil found himself standing in front of a vast forest, where he could see nothing but trees in that direction. This was Neil's first stop: the Fallen Leaves Forest.
As Neil walked through the forest, he saw in the distance a large valley, and within this valley, there was a pack of wolves. When Neil saw them, he knew they were young, so they shouldn't be above level 2 or perhaps 3. Neil placed his hand on the sword at his waist. It was a sword given to him by his mother, a sword of medium quality.
After sneaking closer, Neil counted the wolves; there were five. After some quick calculations, he realized he wouldn't be able to fight them all together. While pondering how to deal with the wolves, one of them strayed from the group. Seeing this, Neil moved quickly, hid behind a rock, and waited for the wolf to approach.
As soon as the wolf came close to relieve itself, and while it was unaware, it suddenly saw a body without a head. Shocked, the wolf quickly lost its life and died within seconds.
Seeing this, Neil smiled, now understanding his approximate level of strength. Thanks to his Immortal Body training, his current strength was roughly equivalent to a level 5 knight, perhaps even a weak level 6 knight. Neil didn't continue to fight the other wolves, as they seemed too weak. However, at the moment he killed the wolf, a notification appeared before his eyes, a notification he hadn't heard in nearly five years.
"Ding: Congratulations to the host on your first kill. Reward: Special Skill - Killing Intent (Unknown). A skill coveted by every killer since the beginning of creation, it is a skill that can gather killing intent and turn it into tangible energy. The stronger the intent, the more powerful the energy."
As soon as Neil began to absorb the skill, he felt as if a strange energy rose from the dead wolf's body and entered his own. Once the energy entered his body, the Immortal Body reacted, releasing special forces to repel the bloody energy, but the forces were unable to stop it.
"Ding: Due to the direct fusion of higher forces, a disturbance has occurred in the host's body. Measures will be taken to protect the host from death."
"Sealing the host's soul within a time barrier."
"Sacrificing Level 3 in magic and Level 3 in knighthood to protect the energy consumption."
As soon as that was done, the drop of dragon blood tried to intervene in the struggle of forces within Neil's body. But as soon as the dragon's blood appeared, something strange happened; both the Immortal and Bloody forces began to absorb the dragon's blood to strengthen themselves.
"Ding: To protect the host, the system will safeguard the soul and seal it for seven days."
And that was the last thing Neil remembered before passing out. But what he didn't know was that when he awoke, more surprises would be waiting for him.
