Chapter 27 - Blisters and Bedrocks

Everyone was shook.

To see Adlaf in such a condition. Defeated and caged. Lenin was aghast. Just what could have happened to put his uncle in such miserable state.

At it turns out while coming towards the battlefield he was ambushed. But he anticipated it. He quickly ordered his men into a defencive formation. But then something unexpected happened as the enemy forces stepped back and Rana, the general of Horis's army stepped in front. With a unique looking blade.

As it turns out Ulma was not just a precious mineral which could be used as a powerful source of energy. It could also be turned into devastating weapons.

Soon Adlaf is surrounded by men with weapons made up of Ulma. He tells his men to keep their shield up. But as soon as they fire their arrows it goes right through their armour killing them instantly. Seeing this Adlaf was shocked. He knew he had to stop Rana then and there.

He rushed towards him and swung his huge axe. But before he realised it Rana had cut right through his axe.

Adlaf tries to overpower him but to no avail as Rana cuts his left leg and breaks his other ankle bringing Adlaf to his knees.

In a desperate attempt Adlaf goes for another strick but Rana cuts his chest open.

"Real tough fella , even after being cut open he is still not dead. Capture him. He is more valuable alive."

Now on the battlefield Rana and his army cover the sky with their arrows modified by Ulma completely decimating the Joyern army. Horis makes his way towards Lenin,

"This is just a hint of what Ulma can do now imagine what a loadmine of it can do. I tried to convince your old man but he didn't listen. Now you shall pay the price. You see the trap of Rana's ambush was made for you. I didn't think you would show up yourself to fight me. I thought Adlaf would come to face me while you tried to maneuver your army to flank me. You impressed me. But that is that. Now I have a score to settle with your uncle. "

Screaming, Lenin tries to reach Horis but the arrow are too much for him as he is unable to advance forward.

Horis reaches Rana and an imprisoned Adlaf.

"Rana, you have truly proven yourself."

He looks towards Adlaf,"Adlaf the Gallant they say and now look at you, on your knees with maggots infesting your wounds. This what happens when you try to deny me. This is the fate that awaits for all those who try to oppose me. I am the king of the most powerful House in all of Varrden. I get what I want. I am Horis king of House Frega"

"Ha! Haha , Ha!" Suddenly Adlaf begins to laugh

"HAHAHA!!, You really are a fool aren't you, all that money and power yet you still lack the vision and well, common sense. Horis, king of House Frega, just who do you think you are eh?

I'll tell you who you are , you are just a clog in the machine. A small smudge in the bigger picture. You are just a king of a small house present in a small continent. The world is far larger than you perceive it to be.

Even if you kill me today, somebody else will take my spot. My kin shall live on.

My nephew, hmm" Adlaf smiles" he is young but he got the heart. Reminds me a lot of my brother." He looks towards Horis and with blood shot eyes shouts on top of his lungs

" EVEN IF I DIE TODAY NO ONE SHALL MOURN MY DEATH. AS A WARRIOR'S DEATH IS NOT MOURNED . IT IS AVENGED. AND MY REVENGE SHALBE TAKEN. EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO CARVE THE PATH THROUGH BEDROCKS COVERED IN BLISTERS"

with his last bit of strength he yells out a war cry that sends shivers down the enemy soldiers as stands on his two legs despite the injuries with his chest filled with pride,

Horis swings his blade.

He cuts Adlafs neck and his head flying off.

Lenin is shook he suddenly collapses to his knees , he can't believe what he just saw. As Karma tries to take him out of the battle.

Horis signals Rana to kill everyone.

Suddenly Bek arives with Kel.

With the Ulma stones by his sides he starts chanting a spell,

"mrutyuh loknashakah"

A huge light emerges and engulfs the whole battlefield as an explosion is triggered. An explosion so big that it could be seen from miles.

That put an end to the war.

Both sides return without a victor.

As Lenin leaves the battlefield. The look in his eyes was not of defeat. Rather it was of vengeance. A fury burnt within him.
