Chapter 16 - Tides of War

Darzen and Horis decided to divide the forces among themselves. Darzen led the bigger army of about 90,000 with Karma leading the vanguard. Horis decided to follow behind him.

... ... ... ....

Lenin was fully aware of the fact that they were hugely outnumbered. So he wanted to make sure if they fighting it will be on his turf.

He sets up his army near the port city of Brimstone.

At first, Adlaf was a little confused why Lenin made such a bizzare decision to place all the troops near the beach.

But soon it was very clear to Adlaf as well

"Lenin you mad man " Adlaf says while laughing.

After two days Lenin's scouts come to him saying Darzen's forces were almost at their doorstep.

And

Lenin was ready.

Darzen and Karma make their way towards the centre of the battlefield.

Lenin and Adlaf were there waiting for them.

"Wanna surrender now?" Darzen says with a smirk.

"HAHAHAHAHHAHAH" Adlaf laughs so loud that it could be heard for miles.

"You certainly have not lost your humour"

Lenin says " Listen here you scheming piece of shit the only one surrendering here would be you"

"Is that so, I would like to see you try" Karma remarks.

"By the way where's your wizard friend"

"He's fine just taking a little nap."

"Oh, happy to hear that "

"No you ain't "

"No I ain't "

"So if it's a war you want I shall give you one ", Karma

As Lenin talks he looks at the Sun and suddenly starts mumbling nonsense.

"Before we start with this war I would like to sing the traditional Joyern house music ~~~~~~~~~~"

After 10 minutes of this complete randomness as Darzen and Karma were looking at him with a look of pure astonishment. Darzen finally breaks Lenins rambling.

"Stop with this nonsense. Or are have you finally gone crazy. This wet sand is ruining my shoes!"

Lenin still confident as ever replies," Sure let's go. You want war I'll give you a war even your unborn kinsmen will remember "

As they move back towards their respective armies Karma was a little confused. He thought to himself why Lenin's cavalry was not present in there.

Why he chose to fight in the beach of all place.

He tries to warn Darzen but he didn't listen. According to him their number was too huge for any trap to work. He wanted to ram through their frontlines and crush them.

Which was actually pretty accurate as they outnumbered them 3 to 1.

Victory should be very easy.

Right?

As the Sun moves from above their head, Darzen blows the horns and Karma and his huge cavalry charge towards them but Lenin didn't move an inch and actually started to move backwards.

As the others were thinking they were probably thinking they were scared.

Karma started thinking and it hit him.

Why was the sand so wet.

Then he heard it. As it turns out in Brimstone there were high tides and low tides. And all this time it was low tide and that was why the sand was still wet. But now karma could hear it. A nightmare. A huge high tide coming in.

"RUN!!" Karma shouts as runs towards the high ground.

Lenin blows the horn.

Suddenly a squad of archers launch flaming arrows in the sky.

Darzen was baffled. Why would he do that. They were certainly very away from them.

"They aren't meant for us. " Karma mumbles to himself as he realises.

In the distance near the coast Lenin had lined up his ships just shy of the lagoons. And upon seeing the arrow, they brought out their cannons and

BOOM!

All hell broke loose as the cannonballs flew towards them.
