As Bek returns with the maps to the underground labyrinth of Gellnor. Lenin and Horis were eagerly waiting for him. The plan was set. Lenin and half of his man will use the underground pathways to enter the city while Horis and his men distract Darzen and his army. So they decide to act as soon as the sun sets to use the darkness to their advantage. Adlaf suggests that he should fight with Horis to distract Darzen but Horis disagrees as according to him even after they are able to enter the city, it won't be easy for them to capture it. So they will need all the help they could get. Second of all, Horis's army was plenty hugh as it was. More than enough to keep the Gramwis soldiers at bay.
As the sun sets the Joyerns prepare themselves to enter the tunnels. Something felt off to Bek. The Frega arch mage was nowhere to be seen.
"Where is ser Deftel?" He asked.
"Oh I heard he had gone to visit the ruins of Fefner" Lenin
"Why so sudden—..."
The horns were blown, they entered the tunnels. Adlaf and Bek were leading the way. But after a while ..... They got confused. As if the map was not making any sense at all. Sudden dead ends which were not mentioned in the map at all. They started bickering.
"Are you sure you grabbed the right map? Or did you just grab the first one you could find" Adlaf said tauntingly.
Bek, annoyed "what did you say to me? I dare you to repeat it"
"Enough already both of you stop fighting" Lenin said irritatingly. After a few more hours of roaming in the underground labyrinth. The army was starting to get anxious. They were getting restless. But before Lenin could say something. A brief light was seen at the end of the long tunnel. Looking at the light all the men felt relieved. Little did they know this light will be the reason of their doom as well.
As they make their way towards the light something felt off to Bek. He warns Adlaf and the others but it was too late. What they saw next was something they could have never imagined.
The Arch Mage Deftel stood in front of them.
"What the hell are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be in some ancient ruins or whatnot" Adlaf says.
Before any of them could say anything else, the mage mutters his spell
"NAR ALJAHIM"
Bek rushes towards the front and hurries to put up a barrier. A huge sea of flames engulfes them.
Though he is barely able to protect those standing behind him the rest of them were not so lucky. The fire was so hot and huge that the oxygen level of the area also started to deplete. But Lenin was confused. Why was the arch mage already here? Why was he attacking them? Why were the maps not accurate ? Why was no Frega men with them? As he was overwhelmed with these thoughts Adlaf quickly snaps him back to reality.
" We have to get out of here Bek won't be able to hold him for long"
Bek while busy keeping up the barrier Focuses enough to conjure another spell " AEISARON" The arch mage was impressed with Bek. How he was able to perform another spell while keeping up the barrier. But nonetheless the gap between them was obvious as he mocks Bek
"I was starting to feel hot thank you for the pleasant winds." With one motion of his hand he cancels the spell. But that was enough for Bek as it bought enough time for the others to escape.
"FUMOS" A large cloud of smoke appears as Bek runs away from there.
Lenin and the others re emerge from the catacombs and what he saw next stunned him as the other half of his troops which had stayed with Horis was completely butchered. And then he saw it. Horis on top of the city wall with Darzen by his side.
