Chapter 27 - [Chapter-27 Hunt for Intruder (Part-4)]

Scene: City Square - Evening

The city square was bustling with excitement as night fell, and lanterns lit up the streets, casting a warm, golden glow over the crowd. The air was thick with anticipation, the murmurs of excited citizens growing louder as they filled the square. The circus tent stood proudly in the center of the square, colorful banners fluttering in the wind, and people of all ages were gathered, eager to see the legendary Cedric the Circus Man perform.

Derek, Charles, Suzy, and the Kid had somehow found themselves in the middle of it all. Despite their earlier disastrous attempt at being detectives, they couldn't resist the lure of the circus. Derek, for one, was still sulking after the whole Auguitius Bord debacle, but even he couldn't deny that something was exciting about the atmosphere.

Derek: (grumbling to himself) "I can't believe we're doing this…"

Suzy: (cheerfully nudging him) "Come on, Derek! It'll be fun! We could use some entertainment after all that running around."

Charles, normally the serious one, surprised Derek by tagging along without any resistance. He even seemed slightly enthusiastic, though he would never admit it.

Derek: (raising an eyebrow at Charles) "I'm surprised you came. Thought you were all business, no fun."

Charles: (shrugging) "I've had enough of your mischief for one day. Might as well see what all the fuss is about."

Derek: (smirking) "So you're saying you want to hang out with us now? What, no training tonight?"

Charles shot him a look that said, "Don't push it."

The Kid was already bouncing with excitement, practically dragging the group toward the big top tent where the show was about to start.

Scene: The Circus Begins

The crowd buzzed with energy as they all settled into their seats under the massive circus tent. The air was electric, filled with the sweet smell of roasted nuts and cotton candy. The lights dimmed, and a hush fell over the audience. In the center of the ring, Cedric the Circus Man stood tall and proud, his signature mustache twitching with excitement.

SFX: The faint whoosh of the tent's flaps being pulled shut, the murmurs of the crowd dying down as the show begins.

Cedric: (raising his arms dramatically) "Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! Welcome to the greatest show this city has ever seen!"

The crowd erupted into cheers, clapping and shouting with excitement. Derek couldn't help but get caught up in the energy, even if he tried to act unimpressed.

SFX: The roar of the crowd, loud applause, and cheers filling the air.

Cedric: (grinning, his voice booming through the tent) "Tonight, I will dazzle you with feats of wonder! Marvel at my strength, my skill, and my sheer audacity!"

He spun around with a flourish, pulling out a set of juggling knives from his cloak. The audience gasped in awe as he began to toss them into the air, one by one, expertly catching each blade as it twirled dangerously above him.

SFX: The swish of knives spinning through the air, the clang of blades being caught and thrown back up.

Charles: (whispering to Suzy) "Okay, that's actually kind of cool."

Suzy: (grinning) "Told you this would be fun!"

Cedric's juggling act grew more and more daring with each toss until he was juggling what seemed like a dozen knives, each one slicing through the air with precision. The crowd was on the edge of their seats, eyes glued to Cedric's every movement.

SFX: The swish and clang of more knives being juggled, the crowd gasping in awe.

Then, with a sudden flourish, Cedric flung all the knives high into the air and caught them one by one, bowing deeply as the audience erupted into thunderous applause.

Cedric: (grinning smugly) "And that's just the beginning!"

Scene: Cedric's Next Trick - The Acrobatics

With another grand gesture, Cedric called for his acrobats to enter the ring. Two slender performers, dressed in bright, shimmering outfits, flipped and tumbled their way to the center, their movements as graceful as a bird in flight.

SFX: The soft thud of feet landing on the ground, the crowd gasping in amazement.

Cedric: "Behold! The finest acrobats in all the land!"

The acrobats began their routine, leaping and twirling through the air with impossible grace. They formed human pyramids, flipped through flaming hoops, and tumbled across the ring like they were weightless.

Derek, who had been trying to stay nonchalant, couldn't help but lean forward in his seat, his eyes wide with fascination.

Derek: (muttering to himself) "Okay… this is actually pretty impressive."

Suzy: (nudging him playfully) "See? I told you this would be a good distraction."

The crowd cheered with each daring flip and jump, and Cedric clapped along, his smile as wide as ever.

Scene: Cedric's Grand Finale - The Lion Taming

Finally, it was time for Cedric's most dangerous act of the night. With a dramatic wave of his hand, he signaled for his lion-taming act to begin. A massive cage was wheeled into the center of the ring, and inside it was a huge, roaring lion.

SFX: The loud, echoing roar of the lion, the crowd gasping in both fear and excitement.

Cedric: (grinning confidently) "And now, ladies and gentlemen, I will perform the most dangerous feat of all—taming the wild beast!"

The crowd gasped, and Suzy grabbed Charles's arm in nervous excitement.

Suzy: "Do you think he's going to tame that thing?"

Charles: (nodding slowly) "We'll see."

Cedric entered the cage, a long whip in one hand and a small stool in the other. The lion growled menacingly, pacing back and forth as the crowd held its breath.

SFX: The lion's low growl, the soft crack of Cedric's whip as he begins his routine.

The tension in the air was palpable as Cedric began to command the lion, using his whip to guide it through a series of tricks. The lion jumped through hoops, balanced on small platforms, and even bowed to the crowd at Cedric's command.

The audience was on the edge of their seats, clapping and cheering wildly.

Derek: (whispering to Suzy) "Okay, now I'm impressed."

Suzy: (grinning) "Told you this circus was worth it!"

Finally, with one last flourish, Cedric commanded the lion to bow once more before exiting the cage. The crowd erupted into applause, cheering louder than ever.

SFX: The roar of the crowd, clapping and shouting fills the air as Cedric takes his final bow.

Cedric: (bowing deeply, his mustache twitching proudly) "Thank you, thank you! You've been a wonderful audience!"

Scene: The Unexpected Encounter

As the crowd continued to cheer, Derek leaned back in his seat, feeling more relaxed than he had in days. He was just about to say something snarky to Charles when, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted something—or rather, someone.

There, standing near the back of the crowd, was a tall, graceful figure in a white cloak. Auguitius Bord.

Derek's heart skipped a beat as he nudged Charles and Suzy, his voice a frantic whisper.

Derek: "Guys! Look! It's her! It's Auguitius!"

Charles and Suzy turned to look, their eyes widening as they spotted the same figure. But instead of reacting with fear or suspicion, they both stood up immediately and bowed respectfully.

Charles: (murmuring with respect) "Your Highness."

Suzy: "Princess Auguitius."

Derek blinked in confusion, his brain trying to process what was happening.

Derek: (confused, still half-panicking) "Wait, what? Princess?"

Charles: (glancing at him, clearly annoyed) "Derek, I knew her name, I wouldn't have wasted so much time running around the city like an idiot."

Derek's mouth fell open as he looked from Charles to Suzy to Auguitius. She was standing just a few feet away now, her calm, regal presence undeniable.

Auguitius Bord, the woman they had been chasing around the city like a criminal, was not some mysterious intruder or dangerous threat. She was the daughter of the King of the Angelo-Human territory—a literal princess.

Auguitius: (smiling warmly at Derek) "Hello, Derek."

Derek's face turned bright red as he realized the magnitude of his mistake. His mouth opened and closed a few times, but no words came out. He had been hunting down a princess. A princess.

Charles: (rolling his eyes, clearly annoyed) "You had us chasing after royalty this whole time, Derek. Next time, get your facts straight."

Suzy: (giggling, clearly enjoying Derek's embarrassment) "You've really outdone yourself this time, Derek."

Derek: (stammering, still in shock) "I-I didn't know! She—she didn't say she was a princess!"

Auguitius chuckled softly, her eyes twinkling with amusement as she watched Derek flounder.

Auguitius: "I didn't mean to cause any trouble. But it was quite amusing watching you run around the city trying to find me."

Everyone was shocked that Auguitius knew about it already.

Derek: (shocked) "When and how did you first become aware of our secret mission, especially considering that we were untraceable at the time?"

Auguitius: (smiling) "Well, mine also a secret."

The scenes end with the laughter of Auguitius and with a firecracker in the sky.
