Chapter 8 - Wake up

Here's the revised text with spelling and grammar corrections, maintaining the word count at 1,220:

Waking up, he found himself in a hospital bed with doctors surrounding him, looking at him in confusion.

"How are you feeling?" asked one doctor.

"Fine, just tired and cold," said Kínitos.

"You sure he was dead? Cause he looks quite alive, and his wound doesn't look bad at all," said one doctor.

"His blood reading is definitely low; we'll leave him here for now to rest," replied another.

As they went off, nurses surrounded his bed, checking his vitals and his temperature. After several minutes of checking and words talking about his health, all started to sound like mumbling.

On the first floor of the hospital, a man stood in front of a woman behind a computer. "You don't understand; he just got brought in today, just now! I have to go see him," said the man in anger.

"And I told you we can't allow that," said the lady.

"I'm a cousin of his," said the man.

Looking at the man, she tapped away at her computer. She then paused as she looked at the computer and then back at him, raising an eyebrow. "You're his cousin?" said the lady.

"Well, he's adopted," replied the man as he started to sweat bullets.

"Really? How do I know you're not lying?" asked the woman.

"K-I-n-I-t-O-S, Kínitos, that's how you spell his name. He's got a tattoo, and he's kinda stupid, but that's my cousin," said the man, his voice breaking. The lady sat there pondering as she waited, then started typing away once more. The man stood there waiting for anything.

"Well, okay then," said the lady, writing something. She then handed the man a small paper.

"Floor 11F. I hope your cousin is alright, Mr. Suris," said the lady.

Sitting straight, Kínitos looked below his hospital gown; he saw a large scar starting from his belly button and up towards his chest. "Was I really saved?" he thought to himself as he lay back down. Staring at the clock, he saw it was 2:10. With his mind going through the events, he then thought of Monti. He quickly jumped out of the bed, falling over as he got up in pain, holding his stomach. He ran towards the door; a nurse opened it, nearly hitting him in the face.

"Why are you out of bed? You just got here; please go back into bed," said the nurse.

"Monti, the man I came here with, where is he?" asked Kínitos in confusion, his brain racing and his heart wrapping around itself.

"I believe in another section, but he's fine. Just lay back down; your cousin's coming to visit you," said the nurse.

"Cousin?" He asked in confusion as he thought he had none in the city. He left them all long ago. So who could this be, saying they're his cousin?

"Emergency going on; lock down. A crazy man has just—" the radio then suddenly cut off.

The nurse looked at it as she asked, "Hey, hello, are you alright?"

"Where is he!?" demanded Kínitos.

"Floor 8, he is on floor 8, room 8H," replied the nurse.

He quickly ran out as he searched for an elevator, finally finding one. Rushing inside, he pressed the 8th floor. As it went down three floors, his head started banging. Save him, save Monti he heard in his head. His brain started ringing as if it was getting hit by a hammer.

Finally reaching the floor, he quickly ran out of the elevator, searching for the room. He finally reached the room, ran in, and looked at Monti; both quickly locked eyes. Monti jumped out of his bed as he ran towards Kínitos. Hugging, they both looked and checked on each other.

"Looking good, man," said Monti.

"Looking better," replied Kínitos.

Both looking at each other, as they began to laugh uncontrollably. As they looked at each other's wounds, they went and sat down on the bed.

"Shit, you look like you didn't even get into a life-and-death fight," said Monti.

"Neither do you," said Kínitos, looking around the hospital room; he felt peaceful.

"What's wrong?" asked Monti.

"Nothing, but something weird. A radio said a man was in the hospital, and he's crazy," said Kínitos, standing up, trying to find a weapon to use.

"Okay, it's the hospital…wait, you think he's here in the hospital?" said Monti.

"I saw him following us before, when we were on the street running to the ambulance," said Kínitos, finding nothing to use. He grabbed a chair as he held on to it.

"Well, he shouldn't be able to find us now, right? We're in a hospital full of security," said Monti.

"You would think that, wouldn't you?" replied Suris. Both men looked towards the door, staring in confusion as Monti got up, standing close to Kínitos. Both men not moving a muscle, as if watching every move their predator makes.

With each step Suris made, the man backed away. Slowly, Suris pulled out the scalpel, eyeing both men up and down. He began to laugh uncontrollably.

"You fucked up my life, you know that," said Suris, pointing the scalpel towards them.

"Fucking good," replied Kínitos in anger, staring straight into his eyes.

"You should be dead…both of you should, but you got blessed by God," said Suris, walking towards a small table, grabbing a remote control. As both men looked in awe, smoke covered the remote control, and chunks of it started disappearing.

"What the hell is he doing?" asked Monti in confusion. Slowly, Kínitos walked over towards a chair.

"God gave me powers to succeed my dreams, and no one will stop my dreams," said Suris. Quickly grabbing the chair, Kínitos threw it towards the killer. With haste, Suris nearly dodged it. The wooden chair shattered into thousands of pieces, cracking the concrete wall. All men stood there in shock as Kínitos looked at his hand in bewilderment.

The killer quickly charged at both men, the bed dividing them. With one great jump, he leaped over the bed and swung down at them. They dodged as they felt the breeze of the scalpel passing both of them by; they quickly ran towards the door. In fear, he threw the scalpel towards Monti, missing and passing next to his hair, cutting a portion off.

"Shit, we should have brought sleeping beauty with us," said Vex, both women chuckling as they made their way down the stairs as quickly as wind.

Grabbing Vex like a princess, Violet then jumped down the staircase. As they descended as fast as an asteroid, Vex held her suitcase tightly. From the 33rd floor to the 30th, the 24th, and finally the 12th, holding Vex in her right hand, she extended her left, grabbing the railing, bending it in the process due to the force, and swinging both of them up onto the stairs.

"Go back up to 22; there's something up there that doesn't seem right," said Vex.

"Yes, I got you," agreed Violet.

"That's my adorable, and strong princess," she said with a baby voice. As Violet blushed, she then started leaping floor to floor.

"Now where are you, bad children?" Vex said to herself.
