The next day, Gwen woke up to a loud banging on the door of her dorm room.
Gwen slowly opened her eyes, grumbling in annoyance from the noise. She turned to look at Sibby, who shared the same expression.
"Who the hell is that?" Sibby muttered as the banging continued.
Annoyed, Gwen hopped off her mattress and yanked open the door, scowling at the intruder.
Standing there was Thorndyke, wearing his obnoxiously charming smirk, as per usual. He leaned against the doorframe, his arms crossed casually.
"Morning, sunshine," he greeted, his tone mockingly cheerful.
Gwen's irritation surged instantly.
"What the hell are you doing here so early in the morning?" she snapped, her voice sharp with annoyance.
Thorndyke chuckled, clearly enjoying getting under her skin. "Just wanted to see that radiant smile of yours," he teased, his smirk widening.
Gwen's irritation flared up, and she scowled at him.
