Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

The past two weeks were intresting to say the least. I did my partial evolution, use my [Flesh Stacks] ability for the first time, reach the farm and eat a bunch of there farm animals.

My ability was disappointed, by using it I could make a part of any corpse mine. I thought I'll be able to use it but it just hang off of me like a vestigial organ. It just sticks on my body without doing anything, I used it on the lizard's good eye and it just hanged on my body, I couldn't really see through it. If I stick another arm on me I wouldn't be able to control the attached arm at all. Removing them cost as much mana as putting them on too.

The only use I have for it right now was to use as an armour. The lizard skin was tougher than mine so I skinned it and stick it above my own like it was some sort of leather armour, I put a few bones atop it as well for extra protection. So that was at least intresting.

As for the farm, the houses here were more of the same as before but how they respond to my little actions were completely different. After my first kill here they respond immediately, first they looked for the culprit as they should, I was strong enough to take an entire chick with me for later consumption at a safer place. Even with me being careful enough to leave as little an evidence as possible, they always find my hiding spots, my feeding grounds. Usually too late, thankfully.

They put several traps everywhere when they found out it was a rat who did it, even bought themselves some cats too. They were tasty. Don't know why I'm the only animal who have use skills and abilities so far but hey I'm not complaining. They made my life so much easier.

As for my current status:

[Stat point: 4]

I have gained two whole new levels, grown once, in just ten-ish days, didn't really count, but damn do I have alot of evolution points. I was being indecisive for most of the time, mainly because I was good enough to do what I was currently doing and also because I needed to know what I'm up against before committing my valueable points. So I only upgraded my stomach and my muscles. I cannot seem to upgrade my stomach above +5, so that would likely be its limit for now. Oh, I upped my mana as well, needed the extras for my most valuable stat.

In this farm I had managed to eat three whole chicken, four of younger chicken, chicks yes thats the word. Two cats, one small dog and a baby sheep. Leveling up seems to be harder and harder with each level.

I should have over one thousand points but the monstrous muscles really cost alot, I needed it to do my stuff so I bought it, finally having strength as much as intellect was a momentous moment. I'm definitely stronger than a full grown cat at this point, even a large dog would have trouble putting me down now.

Currently I'm trying to reach the thousand points because the things that showed up when you have hundreds of points are hella amazing and I could only imagine what will be showing up in the thousands. But that was no longer a choice, not after I hit the fracking wizard.

I tried my best not to kill humans, to avoid heavy retribution. I did kind of crippled that one rat catcher the farmers hired but I did think they would respond by sending a wizard. He frost the chicken they put up for bait. One hit form that an I'm dead, super dead. I quickly ran away after seeing his spell, no need to stay near a wounded wizard.

Wasn't even aiming for his eyes either, just tried to hit him in the forehead, with my bone shiruken because I thought it would be funny. Now he's likely out for revenge. God dammit it went so much better in my head.

He's the first opponent I faced who'll be using magic so I'll need to get some serious upgrades, if I am to stand a chance. So let's get to upgrading, I don't think the wizard would be looking for me right now. He did lost an eye after all. This should be the best chance I will have before he starts thinking of revenge. Hopefully he doesn't have any scouting/rader magic.

The system's menu of partial evolution comes up. Every body parts have an endless number of possible upgrades and after a hundred points you can add an extra body part. That will be useful but not what I needed right now.

I need strength for sure, speed too. Leveling up growth was the best ways to get stats but I'm not really capable of that right now, can't have a +6 in partial evolution. Just one more and I probably won't ever do it again unless I'm in a really bad situation. Size has both a pros and a cons, pros being obviously the increase in stats, but the cons kind of heavily outweighs the pros. Further upgrades cost extra, bigger body means more points to upgrade and everything was already costly enough. I'll also have be having alot of difficulty in hiding, not to mention the attention that will come with size.

No thanks, I'll stay compact. Besides getting big isn't the only way of getting stronger, the system allows you to increase the quality of your muscles without the increase in size, while obviously advertising for the size increase by making the small build extra costly.

Another stupid idea pops up in my head and I have no choice but to indulge in it. Looks like I'll be almost dying again, no way I was getting out unscathed form this one. My rat brain makes it very hard to control this impulses I have, regardless of how much danger was involved. I'm really good at justifying my stupid, dangerous plans, I found out.

The plan was to kill the wizard, eat him and finally get a full evolution. I know the humans will retaliate the death of a wizard but they are already sending one after me, if I could somehow make them hate me, direct that hate towards the underground rats, lure them there, let them fight it out. I'll be kill a whole flock of birds with this stone. I want to save some evo points for later but a whole ass human with spell casting capabilities should provide enough.

It's kind of disturbing how little killing and eating a human weights on me. But if I really think about it, the humans are constantly trying to kill me for being a rat, yes killing their farm animals is me being a rat. I'm no longer a human to start with, I'm not really accepting myself as a rat either but that was besides the point. Also I'm doing everything I can to save the surface world from a full scale invasion, yeah this whole thing requires a sacrifice and the life of the wizard was a sacrifice I'm willing to make. I'll be saving thousands by killing one, no need to think much about it.
