Chereads / The Rebirth Of A Vengeful Heiress / Chapter 9 - Little Miss

Chapter 9 - Little Miss

Chapter Nine

Percy's POV

I couldn't believe it. My eyes shifted to the girl seated opposite me. This sassy little miss was actually the heiress to Xexi Group? My mother would start acting funny when she heard this.

She kept glaring at me, and looking back at my actions, I deserved it. But did I regret it? No. She really could've looked the part of a heiress.

I rubbed Ed's head that was on my laps and he smiled. He was looking down at his iPad and watching something from the cartoon network. Elisa tapped on her phone as usual, ignoring her environment.

"Shouldn't you guys try to get to know each other?" I said as an icebreaker and to take the little heiress' attention from me. Her eyes softened as she looked at Elisa and I swear there was hesitation in them.

Why did she feel nervous? I barely knew anything about her but she obviously didn't live like the future of a billionaire company. Elisa didn't even look up and only Ed raised his head.

"My name is Edward Zen." He introduced like the good boy he was. I gave him a headpat.

"Why don't you give an introduction, miss?" I gestured to her. She rolled her eyes.

"I am Seraphina Jones." She smiled at Edward. "Warrior ranked from Theroes Pack. What pack did you guys stay in? I forgot to ask your older brother earlier."

The problem I had with these pack people. I held Edward back as he was obviously confused. "We are standalones, official rogues. We don't serve under one pack like a bunch of animals and engage in wild fights for survival."

Her smile reduced but she didn't turn to me. "So you guys don't have a pack, Edward? That's very much okay. My mother didn't as well and soon, I'd be staying on my own. Teach me the ropes of being an official rogue, okay?"

Edward was sold. Of course, any older lady with a nice smile and tried to depend on him, he puts on his big boy pants really quick. He nodded confidently. "I-I'd teach you everything you need to know about being offishal rogue."

I wanted to correct him but I let it be. So she totally ignored my remark? Well, its not like I'd want her to try to attack me with her wild instincts. She may have plans to leave her cage but she was still mentally animalistic.

A text came on the television and I cleared my throat. "We've arrived." I said it more to Elisa who wouldn't notice the limousine stopping.

The car door opened automatically and Edward stretched his hand to the little miss. He walked her out and I shook my head at how much of a gentleman he'd grown up to be. It was due to my influence, actually.

"Let's get down, Eli." I still had to exclusively alert her. Teenagers were something else.

I noticed the butlers had reshuffled again and two young ladies stood at each side of door, welcoming us. Edward waved to them as he passed and the little miss attempted doing the same but dropped her hand down.

I shook my head. "She was definitely raised in a cage—"

"Give her a break." Elisa nudged me as she walked past. She paused and turned to me. "Her mother probably hid her for her own safety so she didn't live like the Princess you expect."

That didn't cross my mind, and it was odd for Elisa to stand up for someone when they've barely known each other. "So you've been watching her too? It seems you have taken a liking to her then."

Elisa smirked. "I pity her. She's family but I don't have any opinion of her yet."

Only pity? She lost me there.

She continued inside and I swallowed down the question I wanted to ask. A butler helped take off the fur coat on my shoulders and I leaned towards the other. "Is my mother home yet?"

She nodded curtly.

I sighed and grabbed the coat from the butler before walking inside. As long as she didn't see the little miss and I at the same time, she wouldn't think of burdening her twenty-one year old son with marriage.

"Ah! Ed love! Oh my, is that the girl Percy spoke about?"

A shiver ran down my spine. She had spotted the girl already? I changed directions and avoided the stairs Ed had taken the little miss too, I strolled towards the dining room were Elisa had resumed her phone tapping.

"Ah, such a beauty!" My mom's voice rang. I knew the little miss and Ed must've said something but my mother's voice stayed the loudest.

"Did you do mess-up something with your squad? Why are you avoiding your mother?" Elisa asked without taking her eyes off her phone.

"It's nothing."

I adjusted my clothes and rang the squad leader. I should let him know that there was a new guest to protect. The little miss spoke of moving out of her pack and things could get messy from there.

"Boss, there's someone you should speak to. Their lips are a bit busted so you could decide to wait till tomorrow to get clear words out of them."

What a way to greet his boss. "You caught them today, Liam?"

I heard him hum. My hand ran through my hair. When I needed a little break from the thrill of blood and torture but he got a new lead hours later. "I'm coming in. Leave them bleeding."

"Yes, sir."

Elisa gave me side eyes when she heard what I said. "Take care of your own squad." I said to her as I left. This new lead should be one of the people Mrs. Evelyn's driver had met during the last few weeks before he killed his madam.

I walked out and the butlers ran towards the garage. A minute later, a Rolls Royce drove out with an additional driver at the passenger seat. "To base." I jumped in.

Within the next ten minutes, the car slowed down at a tall four storey building made of bricks and stones.

The residence of the men who my mother saved from wrong court judgements and gave accommodation.

The Headless Base.
