Chapter 11 - I Can't Believe It

Chapter Eleven

Percy's POV

"I had even suggested that she leaves to get her belongings from the pack and we could arrange the placement later but she argued that she'd have the room prepared first before moving."

Second kept on reporting and he sounded annoyed. He really liked ordering and good management and I could see how the little miss was impending his other duties.

The little miss was really getting on my nerves. I slammed the door to the guest room open and she sprang up from the couch as if she was ready for a fight.

"Are you the one who arranged the room? Well, get it to it already." She looked me up and down.

Did she have a poor memory or she couldn't remember that I was the owner of this place? "How big do you want your room to be?*

"To contain properties of mine, father and mother. That little room I was assigned to wasn't even half the side of my old room. How much was the budget for this building?"

That struck a vein in my head and forced a chuckle. The house we were currently staying was one of the best thirty years ago. Sure, it had older designs but I renewed a lot of affected things in it every five years.

The newer apartment belonged to my mother and the top gang members. I used to stay there before I got to overwhelmed and rather stayed where I had grown up.

"So, you want a bigger place, huh?" an idea came to mind. My old room at the newer mansion. I hadn't moved completely but many things were in boxes. "I have one for you, not in this house though."

"As long as its under your 'protection'. I'd be moving in this evening unfailing, so get it ready, old man." She sounded like I was really another butler.

"The name's Percival."

"I know but I don't care. After all, I'm just a little desperate bitch, aren't I? It doesn't matter what we call each other." She's getting back at me, alright.

So she was still mad at what I said earlier? I didn't plan to correct myself. I signalled to the butlers to take her things out of the room. "Arrange lodge Don for her."

I noticed their eyes widened when I mentioned my own place and I smirked. "That's the only place she could stay, and think of it this way, you wouldn't need to be in charge of her."

My butlers didn't have access to my lodge and if she would be staying there, it'd be almost similar to living alone.

Let's see how her spoilt ass would handle that. I left the room she was in and noticed that she followed. Did she think that the room would be prepared immediately? She was quite pushy.

"Little Miss—"

"It's Seraphina, but as I said, we can call each other anything." She walked ahead with folded arms, following the butlers.

I exhaled. She was even more trouble than Elisa. I had no intention of babysitting her. "Did you even go to school?"

She snapped her head so fast to snarl at me. "With better qualifications than you could dream of and got into one of the best companies..." She trailed off. "Not yet... anyway."

What wasn't yet? And qualifications? Did she mean college? She was done with college at eighteen?

This was exactly the abuse I hated werewolf packs for but if she claimed she aced it then she probably did. I might need to give her more credit.

We crossed the dark hallway to the next building, and in the darkness with the clopping of our feet being the only sounds I could hear, I heard the slow emergence of claws within that space. Her claws might be out because she was in a disadvantaged place with low light. "Didn't werewolves have better sight at night?"

"Don't mistake us for actual natural wolves." she glanced at me. "You speak like you are not a werewolf yourself."

"An official rogue and proudly." I informed. "I locked my wolf so I don't have anything to do with pack shenanigans and—"

"No one asked, old man." She hushed me. "I will be an official rogue soon enough and its not a big deal. Thank you for your input." She walked ahead.

I nodded, a smile threatened to come to my lips. A smart mouth wasn't bad if she had good comebacks and was intelligent. In fact, I could get used to it.

There were barely anything to do around here when Ed was asleep, Elisa was phone tapping as always, and Luther was panicking about his family's situation. The little miss could serve as entertainment.

My phone beeped in my pocket and I stopped following them, they were close to the other end.

"Yes, Liam?"

My lips fell to a thin line as I heard his report. "R-Right now? Like right now?" This was hard to believe. I met Liam few minutes ago so why were issues arising almost immediately?

He had reported that the lady with the broken lips just escaped the base with two dead and nine injured. Inconceivable. She couldn't even stand yelling when I went there. My mind went to Luther immediately. Could she be going for him?

I need not worry as Luther made today a break for all his workers, risking falling in stocks. He also had more than twelve security guards who I implanted before I left. She wouldn't get close to him before receiving a royal beating.

My fists clenched and I spun around to march to the garage and make sure Luther was safe myself. I stopped and yelled after the little miss and the butlers ahead.

"Make sure at least three people follow her to pack. You should go as well to protect her. Don't let her out of your sight for even a second. Understand?"

She turned to me but I didn't check her reaction as my eyes were on Second. He nodded firmly and I walked away, calculating my next course of action.

Either to hunt or wait for her action. If she only tried to escape, then it'd be easier to handle than if she tried attacking Luther. A sigh left me when I realized I had to think like a psychopath to catch these conspirators.

These people were really getting on my nerves.
