「 CHAPTER 11: Planning」
After the two men finished talking, Kayden, who had a smile on his face, went back to his room. For the first time, he felt genuinely happy after knowing that his friend was the reason for the camp's stability, and he also was given another week to stay inside the camp.
I spared no time and quickly prepared for my next plan as I shouldn't be comfortable under the circumstances we're in right now. I decided to lock myself up inside my room and remember all the things I know from the game.
...
...
...
In the hut across from Kayden's, someone was frowning, staring at Kayden's hut right after he went inside. Their expression was tense as if they were contemplating doing something to Kayden.
A few hours passed and it was now afternoon, I went out to go back at the dungeon I found. But as I was walking, I took notice that someone was following me from behind, when I turned around, there's one one there but I could barely still feel their presence.
I kept walking pretending as if It was nothing but the wind. I wanted to lure it out so I turned the corner, right between two huts.
Losing sight of Kayden, the mysterious person hastily moved towards where Kayden went. Just as when they thought they'd caught up to Kayden, they were wrong.
When they turned the corner Kayden was gone and no sign of him anywhere. The figure walked slowly into the short but narrow space between the two huts, they were cautiously walking while shifting their eyes everywhere looking for Kayden but, he was nowhere to be seen.
With no sign of Kayden, the figure kicked the ground in anger from letting Kayden out of its grasp. But it turns out that Kayden teleported inside a nearby bush right after turning the corner to hide, tricking the figure into seeing who it was.
As the figure stepped out of the shaded, narrow space, Its face was illuminated by the golden afternoon sunlight. To Kayden's surprise, it was a rather pretty girl with her hair tied back in a ponytail, dressed in the school's jogging pants and T-shirt—their PE uniform.
Kayden squinted, trying to read her ID more clearly, and noticed that, based on the color of the ID lace, she was in the same year and program as he was but he could not read her name.
She released a big sigh and started running back and left. I was confused as to why someone was following me. Moments after the girl left, I shook off the leaves and bugs as I went out of the bush.
"What the heck was that girl doing following me around? Though she was pretty, sure..."
"But why was she following me?"
I looked around a bit more to ensure that no one was around and used the Ring Of Teleportation to get outside of the camp.
I crouched and looked around to see if there were any people around outside the camp, shortly after, I sprinted west towards the dungeon.
I sprinted deep inside the forest and the sun slowly set, the forest got darker and darker to the point where it was impossible to see anything. But this isn't a problem for me.
With the use of the Ring of Teleportation and the night vision blessing, It made avoiding monsters lurking in the darkness much easier.
In the distance, I saw a glimpse of the campsite where the dungeon was located, I rushed towards it only to be blocked by a large number of monsters. I used the trees around me to leap from them towards the campsite.
When I finally reached campsite I was shocked and dumbfounded to see that the stairs going down to the dungeon was gone. I closee my eyes again If i was seeing things wrong but still wasn't there.
"I could've sworn that I used the Ring Of Teleportation to get out of the throne room and get back to the hallway of the dungeon, I remember clearly that everything was normal, I even came out from the stairs."
I opened my Inventory and pulled out my dagger and pointed the hilt where the stairs were last placed. If the gem at the hilt glows then someone used magic but if not, then it just disappeared mysteriously. But after a minute of waiting, the gem did not glow or showed any sign of magic.
"So it wasn't magic, then what could have happen?!"
I, who has spent an unimaginable amount of time playing [ LEGACY ], was confused as I discovered what it could be called a 'bug' in the game.
Confused and concerned, I left the campsite to return to the camp immediately. Once I got back from the camp, I threw off the thought of what it was and decided to get into my room. My stomach begin to grumble but I ignored it because there were bigger things to be concern about.
While on my way to my room, I felt happy and relieved seeing the Camp's beauty in the night. There were a lot of students shouting, laughing and talking, the streets were so alive. I saw some of my classmates standing and talking to their friends and when I was close to my room, I was suddenly blocked by a random person.
"STOOPPP!!"
Her arms were spread out, her eyes were closed and her legs stood still.
After a closer look, I immediately recognized her, It was that girl that was following me.
I pretended not to know her so I wouldn't look suspicious and acted normally like always.
"...Uh... Who are you again?"
"Oh!"
She suddenly stood normally bringing her arms back to her sides and introduced herself.
"Good evening! My name Is Trish, just... Trish!"
"O...Kay, Trish? I'm Kayden but why... Did you yelled at me to stop?"
This girl... she's weird, I feel it.
There's something to her, I can't point my finger on it but I can definitely feel something strange from her...
I shifter my eyes from her face and looked at her ID lace she's wearing.
"I see that we're in the same year and the same department!"
She looked at me surprised.
"Woah! Wait... You're a first-year like me!? You don't look like it thought..."
Why this girl...
"Aha! Why did you think that?" She's joking right? Or is she just trying to piss me off.
"Hm? Because of your face! Your face looked so mature and your body, It doesn't look like it from the outside but I can tell If a man workouts Hehe!"
"Ahaha! I get that a lot, I might look like this but I'm actually 19..."
"Ohhh!"
"Ay! By the way I'm sorry for suddenly jumping in front of you!"
"It's fine"
"I just have something important to ask you"
Curious... I tilted my head and asked.
"Hm? What is it to make you stop me on my way back to my room?"
"Yes I'm sorry, but... It's kind of private or confidential if you could say. So can we talk about it in my room?"
My room? Aren't everyone paired up with someone in a room? Now she piqued my curiosity so I asked.
"Your room? Would that be okay to your roommate?" After hearing my question, Trish smile and happy expression slowly disappeared.
"W-well... J-just please, trust me on this. I'll tell you once we're there..."
Hm... This girl, I was cautious at first but now I'm curious... Who exactly are you?
"...Okay. Let's go..."
After agreeing, her face turned back and smiled.
...
...
She lead the way so I followed her and was surprised to see that their room was just across mine.
"We're neighbors huh?"
"Hm? Ah, Yes! I saw you on your first day with Sir Cad."
'Sir Cad' huh? I never thought in my entire life that idiot would be called sir.
"Here we are! Ta-da!!"
Shortly after entering her room I was fascinated by the amount of stuff they had inside, It was fully furnished with 2 beds with their own theme and style.
"Who made all of these?"
"I knew you'd ask! It was my roommate, Sheena. On Earth, she told me she liked wood working and crafts and even gave me a cute little necklace when we got paired up and got close."
She was happy talking about her but, I couldn't help but notice a sense of sadness in her tone and her action.
"I'm sorry to ask but, what happened to her?"
Tish's face turned dark and leaned against the wall with her arms crossed.
"She... died recently... along with many innocent students, Including sir Cad."
The massacre... I wish I could tell her that the man responsible for her death and many others no longer exists in this world.
"That's why I looked everywhere for you, Kayden."
"...Why? Why were you looking for me?"
"The other night, I was wandering around on the outskirts of the Camp and I saw you walking with the School Head."
Shit. I think I know where this is going...
I was curious, so i followed you both. You two seemed to have been having a fierce conversation because both of you looked pissed.
I kept following you because I'm a busybody. I made sure to stay hidden and not make any noise and before I knew it, you two were standing in front of the Prison.
I was shocked followed by curiosity because why would the School Head be bringing some suspicious looking guy to the prison?
After the guards left I scurried my way at the back of the prison where I heard someone humming a tune. When I came to look, I saw the man responsible for killing my friend sitting there. My blood boiled and forgot to control my breathing so heard me and turned around, but fortunately he didn't see me, before he could turn around immediately crouched down and hid.
And from that moment on, Trish saw everything that I did inside the prison. From the moment I teleported behind Lars, to the part where Lars's corpse disappeared eaten by the flame.
I was shocked by disbelief. I didn't notice anything from that time. I thought that I might've been absorbed in the heat of the moment that but my guts tells otherwise.
Her face became stone serious. She looked at my eyes asked.
"Are you perhaps, also a [ Player ] ?"
